Remodeled in 2014 , the home invites you to the outdoors from every room. This property has beautiful touches including an organic vegetable garden, citrus trees, outdoor fire pit and jacuzzi spa. The outdoor patios include several outdoor rooms and invite you to enjoy dinner al fresco anytime of year. The kitchen is built for a chef. This is a home for the discerning renter. Please note Bed Tax of 12% applied only to stays less than 30 days

Great house and fantastic location!

Had a two week stay and the home was perfect. The home was quiet, clean, and had updated decor. The outside area was beautiful and relaxing with the sounds of the water fountain. The house had great spaces to allow me to work remotely in the office or find a quiet space to read. The neighborhood is very friendly and the location was exceptional. Just a couple blocks away from the Douglas Preserve with soaring views of the coast, the intoxicating smell of eucalyptus, and an off leash dog park for us dog lovers. The home is less than a block from the Mesa Steps to the beach and close to grocery stores, drug stores, and both chain and local restaurants. Thank you. Kathrine, for sharing your lovely home.

Great stay in West Mesa

Super home, beautifully designed and furnished. The backyard is a wonderful retreat and includes a hot tub, and outdoor shower. The location couldn’t be better: close to both the Mesa Lane steps and the Douglas Preserve, and 10 - 15 minutes to downtown, Montecito and Ellwood. Already looking forward to our next stay!

A Gem

Thank you Kathryn. You have created a beautiful home. Tasteful furnishings and layout. The outdoor vinyettes were wonderful depending on if you wanted sun, shade or both! The kitchen is top of the line. The location is ideal to walk to the Mesa steps, Douglas Preserve or the business district for groceries, coffee shops and restaurants. I had a wonderful month.

Holiday vacation

Our host offered A+ service with kindness. The kitchen is more than well stocked with all high end items. The setting is comfortable and relaxing, very well maintained. Kathryn was available to take care of any issue should something come up. Highly recommend, will stay again for that short walk to the ocean!

Loved our stay

The home is a beautiful oasis, the grounds are private which enables you to have the doors open and enjoy the fresh air with a ton of privacy. The location is second to none if you have a dog, the beach access as well as Douglas park make walks a joy. The home is beautiful and perfect for remote work or just relaxing. We were there during some pretty bad weather but it didn't matter because the house was very comfortable when we couldn't get out. I absolutely loved this house and location. Kathy was also very responsive to any questions or concerns we had.

Wonderful home & great location

This was our second stay here. It truly felt like home with all the fine touches including designer bedding, linens, toiletries and fully stocked kitchen. The backyard was an oasis with spa, water feature, fruit trees, and lush landscaping. A gardener, spa serviceman, and house cleaner assures everything is kept up during our stay. The host was super responsive and went over and above to make sure our stay was just right. We can't wait until we go back again!

Blissful Stay in Santa Barbara

This is a beautiful property with a great location close to the beach and fantastic restaurants. The kitchen is fantastic for anyone who enjoys cooking and the backyard is a great place to chill with a glass of wine. A fantastic place to stay in Santa Barbara.

Beautiful Home

The house was perfect for a longer stay in Santa Barbara. Great location in quiet neighborhood right by the stairs down to the beach. Very long walks on the beach possible at low tide. The 243 steps will keep you in shape! The Wi-Fi is great and two desks for a couple working from home. The A/C was very handy on the few warm days. The house is a great design. We enjoyed all the outdoor living space as well. We would love to stay here again!

Great Property & Location

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our month-long stay at Katherine’s West Mesa home. The home was very well designed and well appointed. All of the interior space was maximized; and, double doors across the front and back of the house allowed us to enjoy true indoor-outdoor living. The ceilings were tall and furnishings were fashionable and comfortable. Katherine has truly maximized the design of her home. The house was outfitted with all of the appliances, dishes, cooking utensils, soap, paper towels, and essentials that a traveler could need. The privacy fences allowed us to enjoy both the front and back yard - the fountains, the fire pit, the dining areas and lounging areas. In addition to the excellent lay out, decor and comfort of the house, the location was wonderful. It was mere steps from the access to Mesa Lane Beach. Heading toward downtown from the house, a pedestrian walkway connected with Shoreline Drive and the pedestrian walkway through Shoreline Park and past Stearn’s Wharf. Walking north there were numerous walking paths through the Douglas Family Preserve, the Arroyo Open Space and Park and through and around Elings Park. It was a perfect location for walking or jogging exercise opportunities. We were well satisfied with our stay in Katherine’s home and look forward to returning to enjoy the home, location and beautiful surroundings.

Awesome Place

This house was the perfect place for our 2 month post surgery stay in Santa Barbara. Comfortable, peaceful, relaxing. 2 spacious en-suite bedrooms and a wonderful outdoor shower. Love the open floor plan. Opening the doors every morning and being able to sit outside no matter the weather or time of day, really made the place special. It is so close to everything. Walking distance to the Mesa steps and the beach, Douglas Preserve, markets, restaurants, and pharmacies. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Love this place

We've stayed here twice and both times have been perfect. The house is great, but the outdoor space is our favorite. A very private beautiful yard with a spa, outdoor shower and firepit. We barely use our car here as it is an easy walk to the beach, Elings dog park, the grocery store and a few great resturants. This place is awesome!

Super Cooper

This was our fourth time to stay at Cooper Road. Kathy continues to make upgrades and purchases to make the stay more comfortable and enjoyable. The home is located in a quieter part of the Mesa and the garden affords complete privacy yet there’s ample shopping, restaurants and beach access nearby We’ve created nice memories here.

Great house and location, easy access to the beach off Mesa steps and a quick drive or walk to Arroyo beach. Nice office to work from, great art-- Not a big deal but be helpful if.... Living room TV had the option to activate Apps for a movie, couch is real low to the ground - truly though it is a great house in a lovely location.

Wonderland

This home has a warm, organic, classy feel to it. Everything thing you need to cook, be comfortable and enjoy your time away from home is here. The Master Bedroom bed is so comfortable, with fabulous pillows and high quality bedding. Location is close to every where you might need to go in SB, or you can just stay home and cook in this fabulous gourmet kitchen that has “everything” you might need. Loved every minute and hated to leave.

Perfect

We have been renting in Santa Barbara for years, this place is the best. The outdoor living space is over the top. Very private, quiet, awsome fire bowl, great outdoor shower, comfortable furniture and beautiful landscape. The house is lovely, very clean and comfortable. We barely used our car as you can easily walk to the beach, grocery store a few resturants and Elings Park. Kathryn was very nice and easy to work with. Nothing but great things to say about this place.

Tranquil Santa Barbara

We decamped to Santa Barbra while we continue to work from home and this lovely property checked all our boxes- office space, quiet and peaceful surroundings, big kitchen and outdoor space. After a long day of working, a quick walk to the beach followed by a night in the backyard around the fire pit was the perfect way to unwind. As we packed up to leave, we were already thinking of our next trip to this lovely home. The host was communicative and informative and it was a pleasure booking with her.

Another relaxing stay

We enjoyed our stay in February 2020 so much, that we rented the property again during July and August. It was well worth the effort to drive from Texas. Safety was one of our 'must haves' in choosing a location and Cooper Road fit the bill. The vast majority of locals wore masks and the property is ideal for avoiding crowds, being located in a quiet neighborhood. We made more use of the outdoor space this time and ate outside every night of our stay. Highly recommended.

Perfection!

This place was exactly as described, but also exceeded our expectations. We were forced out of our home for 2 weeks during quarantine to fix a roof that had collapsed and found this little gem. This was the perfect place to be quarantined. The backyard is beautiful and has everything you need. Enough grass and concrete space to lie out or do a small work out, wonderful garden and citrus trees, and who doesn't love a hot tub and fire pit. The kitchen was fantastic and well stocked. The master bed was super comfy as well, which isn't always the case, and both TVs were huge. Loved that all the doors on both sides of the house could be left open to let a nice breeze through and keep the house cool. Also loved the washer and dryer, and the 2 desks came in handy since we were working from home. Didn't go to the beach during our stay, but we've been there plenty of times (we live in Santa Barbara) and it's super close and easy to get to. Kathy was great to work with and available for any problems or questions. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay there permanently and had to leave. 100% would stay there again and 100% would recommend to a friend. Also, forgot the place is dog friendly for all you pet owners!

Great experience

Kathy could not have been more helpful during We loved our stay at this property in early March. Sadly we had to cut our visit short due to the coronavirus and she was most understanding. She was available for questions whenever we needed her. We hope to return to this property which was perfect for us.

Relaxing Mesa Stay.

As noted by prior guests the property is top notch. Beautifully designed and appointed. Although we were a single couple, the house could comfortably handle two couples and provide space and privacy for all. The garden is large and lies in an east to west direction which makes for great sunsets; especially enjoyable when viewed from the hot tub. The location is ideal for walking to the beach, Douglas Preserve or the nearby local beach restaurant. The neighborhood is quiet and the locals I spoke with were pleasant and friendly. Kathy was a good host and was responsive to the questions we had. Last but not least .. the bed was comfortable, which was important to us given we stayed for the month. Two Thumbs Up!

Charming home, great experience

We have spent many a winter in Santa Barbara and this beautiful house checks all our boxes. The Mesa is our favorite SB location and the location of the house was perfectly situated for walks to the beach and Douglas Preserve. There is dining and a great grocery a five minute drive away and downtown SB is less than three miles away. As a biker, this is my favorite location for setting off on a ride to Summerland or Carpenteria. There are so many things to love about the house itself. The design/decor manages to be both chic and homey. The layout is very liveable which is especially important in a longer stay. There is abundant natural light during the day and a wonderful gas fireplace provides a golden glow in the evening. The kitchen is a cook’s dream and opens to a private backyard with a large gas fire pit and a hot tub, which we used almost daily. We slept soundly in the comfortable master bedroom. The second bedroom is on the other side of the house,so perfect for a bit of privacy for napping or reading. Finally, Kathryn is a great host. Arrangements were easy and her communication was great. She readily answered questions and helped us figure out a couple of things both before and during our stay. We are already dreaming of our next stay❤️

I love the Mesa. I had zoned in on this area and kept searching until I found the perfect spot. It is close to all the fun in Santa Barbara, the harbor, funk zone and down town. Yet it has the most wonderful beach that feels like it's you and nature . It is quiet and has so much open space just a short walk away. You can ride bikes to a gourmet market and restaurants. It is a hidden gem in Santa Barbara.
