We are thrilled that you enjoyed the full Puertocito experience in August. Wildlife is incredibly abundant on the property and with fewer crowds than Manuel Antonio to be sure! We appreciate the feedback on the big sliding glass doors. Those floor-to-ceiling monsters slide on tracks in the floor, and they are great for enjoying an open air experience. But finding screens that are compatible with the tracks AND are user friendly for guests has proven challenging. We are exploring some ideas, including installing standard sliders and/or french doors with screens but only in parts of the great room that wouldn't block those killer ocean views. We thank you again for staying with us and look forward to seeing you here again.

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at Puertocito. Since your stay, we have continued our property upgrade program, adding ceiling fans in the great room and renovating the amazing "tower" room above the master bedroom overlooking the pool and ocean. The tower room is great for a futon guest, yoga, or just enjoying the view.

We are fortunate to have such a great staff from reservations to hosts to cleaning crews. We regret any inconvenience caused by the water issue but glad we were able to rectify it quickly. We had a busy high season (as usual) this year, so there was not enough time between rentals to do major projects, such as certain sections of wood decks and portions of the great room floors. Now that things are a little quieter, we are doing renovations. We appreciate your referrals and look forward to seeing you again before long. Indeed having Cuna del Angel right behind us is very convenient for our guests since Cuna offers a variety of services as well as a great bar/restaurant just steps from our front door. I will mention your concierge feedback to our property/rental managers - usually our people get high marks for offering a variety of extra services requested by guests, including excursions, an on-site chef, and orientation to the area. Keep the feedback coming - it's helps us to constantly improve the guest experience.

We always regret getting tough reviews as our goal is always to ensure a great guest experience. You can see from past reviews that our reviews are generally very positive. Most guests understand that this is not a hotel in Naples but rather a private home nestled in a tropical rain forest overlooking the ocean. Our listings are clear in that A/C is only in the bedrooms, not the common room. Yes, it is hot this close to the equator, so we don't recommend southern Costa Rica for those who are not heat tolerant. We have never had any crime at the Edge, especially with our caretakers living on the property just 100' feet from the main villa. Wildlife in a rain forest is abundant to say the least -- it's part of the experience but clearly lost on some guests. Any broken windows or screens are promptly repaired. When the large glass sliding doors are left open to enjoy ocean breezes in the common rooms, Geckos, about the size of your pinky, do hang out in the house like many other tropical resorts. They are harmless and guests even given them names. We have invested $150,000 in this property since 2007, including a ton in the past 12 months, including: new power lines, new water lines, improved internet, 14 new low-energy lighting fixtures, a new TV, painting, and much more. We will continue to make improvements throughout 2012. We appreciate the feedback and will continue to work hard to make the Edge a positive and memorable experience for our guests.
