We had a wonderful time staying for our one week family vacation. The main part of the house (downstairs kitchen and front living room and upstairs) seemed to be the older, original part of the house, while the downstairs den, with kitchen extension and bath downstairs were all newer - all parts of the house were in very good condition and nicely furnished and decorated - exactly as the photos on the website showed. The den was much bigger than my impression of the photos, and was where we spent most of our time relaxing on the couch, or eating at the dining table. The den also opened up on to a spacious porch, with gas grill and the beautiful views of the harbor and sunsets. The kitchen was two connected rooms, with limited counter space and no dishwasher - if you like to prepare and cook big meals, it's not the ideal setup, but we cooked our meals there, and all the appliances/plumbing/etc were all new and kitchen was pretty well furnished. The bathrooms were all clean, well maintained, good hot water - upstairs shower did not have much head space for taller people, but downstairs shower was fine - washer/dryer seemed rather new. We used the deck for breakfast in the morning or to relax - I took our dog for walks on the lawn around the house, but I did either wear long sleeves or have bug spray to avoid the mosquitoes in the yard, which seem to be part of the nature in most parts of Acadia. The bed in the master bedroom seemed to be antique - the mattress was soft, not firm. The owner Paul was very responsive to us during our stay - we only had one issue when the gas grill, which worked fine the first couple days, had some kind of blockage, and he sent the caretaker up who fixed it the very next day in time for our next meal. Overall, we were very pleased with the rental and had a great vacation.
