Brand new luxury home with 2 BDRs, each with private bath. Set in Old Mandeville on Bayou Castine, 32 miles from downtown New Orleans. Constructed in 2021 the property comes equipped with an elevator, a state of the art kitchen, formal dining area, and separate office. Enjoy the sounds of nature as you relax in the outdoor entertainment area with flatscreen TV, grill, and comfortable seating. Adjacent to this area is a walkway leading to a covered dock with views of the bayou and Fontainebleau State Park.
This convenient location gives access to 27 miles of a paved path for walking, jogging, and biking, traversing from Old Mandeville through Abita Springs to downtown Covington. To help you explore the area 2 bikes and 1 kayak are provided with your rental. Less than a mile away is the Mandeville lakefront which has everything from pubs to fine dining.

Wonderful Stay at Cypress

We had a wonderful time at Cypress on bayou Castine. The house is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could need with excellent instructions for use. It was exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The views of the bayou and surrounding area made the trip very relaxing. We would recommend this property to anyone.

Best Stay Ever!

I seldom leave reviews, and I have never given a 5/5 review. But that was before we stayed at Cypress. The driveway and grounds are behind a private gate. The ground floor is mostly open air just in case of very high water. A small elevator can take luggage and passengers up to the second floor. (This was very helpful for us since my wife has health problems.) The interior is absolutely beautiful! The decor is modern, and the house is tastefully appointed. The kitchen is provisioned with everything required for anyone who likes to cook. The outdoor facilities are incredible! One of the two wooden boardwalks takes you across a part of the bayou to a quiet little peninsula where you can just sit and watch the bayou flow past. The other wooden boardwalk leads to a dock/sitting area on the edge of the bayou. Sitting on the dock in the early morning with a cup of coffee watching the mist rise from the water was very calm and restorative. We took the canoe upstream as far as the road, watching the birds and dragonflies as the fish rose to the surface, just loving being out in nature. But we were only minutes away from cafes, restaurants and stores. My wife and I initially selected Cypress because it had two full bedrooms and allowed us to include a friend in our visit. When we visit the area again, we will always check to see if Cypress is available, even if only the wife and I will be staying there. As the title says, our stay at Cypress was the best ever!

Magical bayou experience

Cypress was beyond our expectations. We absolutely loved everything about the property. We utilized the canoe on two different morning and paddled down the bayou. We rode bikes to down the Tammany Trace to Fontainebleau State Park and enjoyed the beach for an afternoon. We watched tv below deck and just relaxed as a family. And coffee on the balcony was a favorite each morning. Cypress was perfect in every way and we will return. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

This is pur secind visit to Cypress. When I booked this vacation I knew that it was going to provide the serenity that we needed. A vacation at Cypress is unlike any other that you will experience. The owners are warm and inviting, the home is stunning, and the property provides pure bliss. We found ourselves relaxing on the dock for hours just taking in the view and sounds of the bayou. Cypess gave us exactly what we needed. Time to slow down, enjoy its beauty, and truly recharge. With most vacations towards the end of your stay you are ready to go home. At Cypress your stay will never be long enough. I look forward to returning in the near future. From here forward Cypress will always be my dream vacation.

Cleanest house ever!!

This is a beautiful property in a beautiful setting. It was also the cleanest house I have ever stayed in. I am a real "clean freak" and the cleanliness of this house passed every test I have. Highly recommend this property.

I'M CONFLICTED. THIS PLACE IS SO WONDERFUL, I SORT OF WANT TO KEEP IT TO MYSELF. THE PROPERTY IS IMMACULATE WITH EVERYTHING YOU CAN POSSIBLY NEED. THE LOCATION (ON THE BAYOU) IS BEAUTIFUL. THE OWNER IS ATTENTIVE, RESPONSIVE, AND REALLY CARES THAT HIS GUESTS HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE. THIS WAS MY THIRD STAY, AND I HOPE T0 RETURN MANY MORE TIMES.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! No detail was overlooked. The photos are beautiful but when you see it in person it’s breathtaking. The kitchen is very well stocked. The beds are very comfortable. And the VIEWS!!! We are hoping to go back already.

Beautiful Property

Enough cannot be said about the pristine and natural setting of this property. The pictures are beautiful, but the real thing is stunning. The house is perfect. Beautifully decorated and perfectly appointed. My grandsons loved the fishing and canoeing. We all hope to return someday in the future.

OMG!!! Best Ever Bayou Getaway

Spectacular! The house is lovely and has everything that you need for your stay. The owners are very, very nice and accommodating. We chose this particular property because it is close to an awesome bike trail, Fontainebleau State Park, Mandeville town amenities, and best of all Bayou Castine. We spent lots of time sitting on the dock, that juts out into the bayou, taking in the nice breezes. We could not get enough of the flora and fauna while sitting on the dock. Alligators cruised by, ducks and various birds kept our attention, and the songs of the various frogs and other night creatures were so relaxing. You cannot go wrong with this property.

Stunning Property in Stunning Location

My wife and I stayed at this property for a fortnight. We have stayed in many holiday rentals, but this property is among the best. The location is superb, being right on the bayou; only yards from the 'Trace' - a 25 mile cycling/walking route between Slidell & Covington; and just minutes from beautiful downtown Mandeville. The property has everything we require. It is modern; is superbly equipped and furnished; and has all the extras (bikes; canoe; dart board; table tennis table) to make a stay extra special. The hosts are really friendly and live nearby. This is our second visit to Bayou Castine, and it will certainly not be our last. I would thoroughly recommend this property.

Winter escape from Ohio :-)

The house and property are amazing in every way. There is nothing they have not thought to provide.We made several day trips over to New Orleans and the area across the causeway and it was so nice to come back to such a peaceful, beautiful home. We were blessed to have amazing weather at the end of January so were able to enjoy the outside ammenities they offer, bikes, kayak, grill, and chairs by the water. This home is wonderful is every way.

Superb and Spacious

This is a beautiful and spacious home. Has everything you would need or want. The bedrooms are spacious with walk in closets and each has their own bathroom.Very comfortable beds and pillows. Meticulously cleaned home. 4 decks to sit on and look at the spanish moss hanging from the large trees. If it had been warmer, we would have used the entertainment center under the house more. But we did get in a game of darts. Loved fishing off the dock. The area is close to restraurants, shopping and a state park. This luxurious home is located in a peaceful neighborhood close to a marina. We definitely want to come back.

Perfection

The photos don’t even serve this property justice. It’s spacious and simply beautiful with every amenity you could need. Tons of outdoor balcony and patio space with several boardwalks and a peaceful bike/walking path right around the corner. It feels secluded but is close enough to Girod and Florida street to be right in town in a minute. The owner, David, is very friendly and made several kind efforts to connect with us during our stay to make sure everything was to our liking. He also came by on garbage day and another time to leave some fresh picked fruit. We ran into him a couple times when we were out and about too, which was quite serendipitous. If you are looking for more of a bed and breakfast vibe, with contact with the owners who live right nearby, this is the place for that.

Great 50th Birthday trip!!!

This place is nothing short of AMAZING! My hubby wanted to go somewhere for his 50th birthday, so we picked Cypress in Mandeville. Absolutely phenomenal property. The owners were wonderful and so helpful. I am already checking our calendar for a trip back. You will not be disappointed if you book this location.
