The views were amazing!! Our family enjoyed the various spaces inside and out to spread out giving each couple their privacy. This home is fully equipment with everything you could possibly need! Granddaughter enjoyed hours of fishing off the dock. We loved the access to town with a little shopping, restaurants and updated nine whole golf course “Big Woods”. Truly a magical week.

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful stay on Balsam Lake. The cabin and the amenities were amazing! The cabin was clean and beautiful, the windows and views were awesome! The owner was very helpful and responsive. Would love to stay there again.

A Great Family Vacation

My family and I had a great stay at this property on Balsam Lake. The cabin was very nice and had lots of great spots to enjoy the lake view. We also really enjoyed the game room/garage area. The location was perfect- it has a nice secluded “up north” feel, but also a short drive to lots of different bars/restaurants and shops. Overall, we had a great stay here!

Awesome vacation spot!

Beautiful house and location. House was equipped with everything we needed and more. Jason was very receptive to all our questions. Great food and drink in the town of Balsam Lake also. Would definitely come back again. 5 stars

Very good

Very convenient because of proximity to town. Plenty of space for our group of 7. Jason was very accommodating with early check in and was always quick to respond to question.

Great Family Vacation

The listing was accurate, and the photos don't quite do justice to the beautiful setting you will experience. A wonderful cabin to enjoy with family or friends. Your only problem will be choosing where to sit it... there are many fantastic options!

Beautiful Property

We’ve stayed at several properties on Balsam over the years but this was the best by far. The house and property are beautiful and equipped with everything we needed. One of our favorite things was the boathouse rooftop deck! Jason could not have been nicer and was quick to respond to all my questions.

Balsam Lake Getaway

Very nice property, clean and comfortable. Beautiful views, great access to lake. We used dock to fish, we rented jet skis to use the lake. Cabin is very close to public boat launch, and restaurants in town. Property is well maintained. Wish they would have a guest WiFi account to use, but used hotspot instead. Property owner quickly responded to all questions.

Paradise by Balsam Lake

Exceptional home & property on beautiful Balsam Lake! Our family had an amazing stay & are already planning our next trip! The open water views were amazing & the boathouse dining table was the perfect backdrop to enjoy a sunset dinner & create a lifelong family memory! We especially appreciated having multiple bedrooms & bathrooms on separate floors which provided privacy for extended family. Having multiple gathering spaces / the garage game room provided additional entertainment that we truly enjoyed! Thank you to Jason for sharing his personal slice of heaven! Until next time…

Enjoyable Cabin

This cabin was situated on a nice spot on Balsam Lake. Even walking distance to the little town. Lots of spaces to sit and hang out while enjoying cabin life. The kids thought the loft space was super fun to hang and look at books. Lots of games and plenty of kitchen items for use. Our one challenge was that with renting for an extended stay there wasn’t much room left in the in closets to hang our items nor any dressers provided to avoid living out of our suitcases. Overall we had a really nice getaway and enjoyed being on the lake.

Amazing Get Away

This property was simply beautiful, the photo's did not disappoint! It was a wonderful week, taking in the beauty of the lake and the home, simply gorgeous and so comfortable. Having coffee in the morning looking out at the lake, amazing way to start each day. Such a beautiful setting for gathering with my friends. My granddaughter and daughter in-law joined me for an afternoon, and had a great time beating me at foosball and I loved it! They asked me to book again next year when they could stay longer, it was just a great place. Jason was a great host, I would absolutely love coming back - Thank you Jason.

Fantastic Fall getaway

We brought our family of 4 for a long fall weekend, but this lake home well outfitted for multiple families to enjoy together. The property is stunning, and there are so many amazing spots to relax, dine and play. We loved the garage conversion — playing foosball and shuffleboard with the kids, with a football game on in the background while overlooking the fall colors and the lake— it was perfect! We had the ideal weather for a fire and s’mores and found a local patch to grab and carve pumpkins. The home is also very close to the Main St in Balsam. I loved HopSack, an awesome little coffee shop and store. The home is well outfitted with everything you could need for your home away from home. It is very clean and well organized. We would love to come back in the summer and take advantage of the lake activities too!

Beware: Cameras everywhere

Nearly 2 hours after arriving, I received a message from the owner asking us not to use his “very nice cushion from his high end furniture” on the dock. My 15 year old daughter (clad in a bikini) had pulled it off a chair 10 MINUTES EARLIER, to support her as she leaned back against it on the dock to READ a book. That's just so inappropriate and creepy. 2nd of all, If you don’t want people using your things, you really shouldn’t rent your place out. We were not misusing your property in any way. If there was damage to your cushion (which btw, looked very worn and tired) then that’s what our deposit is for. When I asked him how many cameras he had and where (since at the time, it was not disclosed in the listing), Jason responded with “I only use them when guests are arriving to ensure everything is good. Deck looking at lake and the garage”. I found 4 cameras there covering just about every angle of outdoor space. Jason also came by twice (with less than a 24 hour warning) to mow the lawn. Very hard to enjoy a peaceful lake and privacy with family, while the owner is mowing and blowing around you. We were very uncomfortable here and left early. I would have never rented this place if I had known what I know now. Beware if you rent this place.. kinda creepy to think someone might be watching your every move.

Very disappointing that you would say all these very passive aggresive comments about me and my property. I was very clear about everything with Elizabeth and she wasn't even at the cabin when I came to mow and make the property look great the first time for her and all her guests. I am the father of two girls and to have someone say that I was creepy is pretty low. First guest as you can see by all our reviews to have these things to say. Again as I communicated to you while you were at my place I am sorry if you felt this way. Enjoy life back in California!

Beautiful cabin on the lake

Lots of room for the family, rec room is a great hang out space, plenty of kitchen items, have stayed at other VRBO where you get one kettle and not enough dishes for the amount of people. Jason was very responsive, would stay here again.
