Sea Salt Cottage - 180-degree Views of the Olympic Mountain Range and Hood Canal

Sea Salt Cottage offers spectacular views of the beach and the Olympic National Park from this cozy cottage on the bluff above the waters of Hood Canal. The view is toward the mountains to the west, so the afternoon sun warms the yard and the sunsets are the show of the day. The beach is a short walk down the staircase / trail that ends at the beach on Hood Canal. Walk the beach, search for shells, fish, crab, dig for clams, or simply enjoy the views. Come have fun!

Sea Salt Cottage is a great starting point for day trips to Kingston, Poulsbo, Bainbridge Island, and Port Gamble. If you want to head further out, Port Townsend and the Olympic National Park await.

Sea Salt cottage was a charming property with everything one could possibly need. The views were stunning with daily sunsets over the Olympic national park mountain. The host was great and very communicative. The trip was my first to the Pacific Northwest and the home was the perfect gateway to experiencing the surrounding area.

My family and I adored the sea salt cottage! Plan to return. Kids loved exploring the beach at low tide. Be careful of steps going down to beach - but worth the 107 steps!

We had just a wonderful time. So peaceful and such beautiful scenery. The house is spotless and customized with little details for ease and comfort. Taking a nap in a hammock with a view of the Olympics with the sounds of birds in the trees, water lapping on the beach, and the occasional boat was just perfect.

Our family loved this property. It was a beautiful house, and we loved the beach access. Lots of opportunity to walk on the beach during low tide, and my daughter loved that the beach was sand (not rocks) so she could wade into the water. And I appreciated how well-outfitted the kitchen was.

The view was beautiful and the house was clean and welcoming. There was a business or workshop behind the house. There were people working there. Occasionally you could hear them.

Beautifully decorated and well appointed home. Everything was clean and super organized. She provided all the amenities a family might need. From cornhole and lawn chairs to foil, ziplocs, tea, and coffee, she had it. The home was spacious and allowed our family lots of opportunities to be together or find our own spots to relax. The view was gorgeous, and it was so peaceful. Close to lots of activities, including access to the beach. Please be aware the beach stairs are quite steep. But our group was able to manage it just fine. The host was super easy to connect with throughout the process. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved this cottage. The views were spectacular! Unparalleled. The host was so communicative and helpful which we appreciated. Perfect little beach cottage. The beach is magical, more of a walking beach than a swimming beach. Note: there is a lot of seaweed on shore and sand flies. We loved the firepit, hammock and there was plenty of seating to admire the views. Lots of fun toys that the kids loved playing with. The decor in the home was so thoughtful and beachy. The host left us a darling note, wine and candy at our arrival, such a special detail that we appreciated. We would definitely return to this property! It was such a delightful stay. Side note: there’s no central heating in the bunk room, so it was a bit tricky at night finding the right temp for our littles. We reached out to the host, and she promptly had a space heater delivered to us same day. Once we figured it out the right settings (lowest), it worked out alright.

This was our second stay at Sea Salt Cottage, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered…this is truly one of the best rentals I’ve experienced! The location is serene and beautiful, with a lovely view of Hood Canal that made it easy to relax and unwind. The cottage is beautiful, spotless, comfortable, and has everything that we needed and more. We had our two nieces join us for a night, and the cottage was perfect for spending quality time together. The girls especially enjoyed the swing and hammock in the beautiful backyard. Adrienne is a fantastic host…responsive, kind, and extremely easy to work with. It is easy to see how hard she and her family have worked to make the cottage feel like home to everyone who visits. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special and peaceful getaway.

James and I both grew up in Edmonds, WA and decided to move to Hansville in 1997 to live more closely tied to the land and the water. We raised our four children at this house, and have so many memories at the beach, cooking over the fire, watching the snow line in the mountains across Hood Canal for the perfect time to go sledding, growing our garden out back, raising chickens and all the pets.
We now live on Bainbridge Island but visit often. We want to share the property we love so much with our family and others, so they might enjoy the beauty of Hansville and all there is do here.

We chose this property because we knew we wanted the most beautiful view of the Olympic Mountain range and be next to the beach. We wanted to raise our kids in a setting where they were very tied to nature.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Once you see the view from the house, you will understand why we wanted to live here. Even on a cloudy day, the vista is magical. It is a 180-degree view from the bay of Port Gamble to the south, up the canal to Port Townsend to the north. The view of Olympic Mountains never gets old as you watch it go through the seasons from the first snowfall to when it mostly melts in August. The sea air calms me every time I visit.
