This private home is located on the south west corner of beautiful lake Mille Lacs. It offers a large front yard with trees for shade. Fire pit next to lake for your evening pleasure. A dock to tie your boat up while you are taking a break from the water. There is a gas barbeque with picnic tables for outdoor eating. Property is located near Kathio state park which offers many hiking trails. The casino is just four miles north. Great Weekend Getaway

Bachelorette Party

We had a pretty low key bachelorette party, spent a lot of time on the lake. The water was beautiful!! So sandy! The cabin was your typical cabin, it was great!

Relaxing family vacation

My family and I went on a long weekend trip to Randy’s. We had a great time! Great location and view. It was nice he offered boat rentals so we utilized that while we stayed. Cabin is very spacious and he is making great updates to the place. Randy was very responsive if we had questions. Overall, great weekend and made great memories!

Little getaway

Property was as advertise. It was clean and cozy. The beach was a little rocky close to shore but a few feet out and it was all sand, perfect for splashing/swimming. I've seen some reviews about how the firepit was an inconvenience because it was across the street. Dont worry, the street was very quiet and hardly used. I actuality liked it, it kept all the smoke away from property with no worries of accidental fires. Cherry on top was Randy and his team, they had great communication and were very friendly.

Wouldn't go back

Had this property and the property next door for the same weekend. Both properties have pretty serious mouse problems and this one had a chipmunk come inside two mornings in a row. Had mice in the boat and the truck parked outside at night even. Luckily we spent most of our time playing yard games or by the fire at night so other than sleeping we weren't inside a lot. Randy was a nice enough host but I would not go back.

Better than expected!

I have to say that we were a little leery about renting this cabin. Reviews were iffy and the photos of the inside made it seem small and cramped. We were genuinely surprised by what awaited our girls getaway weekend. First the pictures posted do not do the place justice, it is very spacious and set up very nicely. The rooms were tidy and there were plenty of extra blankets for the folks who slept on the couches. The fridge was clean and the stove worked properly. New dish and hand soap were in the kitchen. Only downsides were these: 1.) There is no welcome letter inside telling the occupant where certain things are. We accidentally blew a fuse and after about a 10 minute search for the fuse box we had to call Randy - he didn't leave his number and we ended up having to Google "Randy's Rentals" and calling the number listed there. Just a thought for the future. (Also it would have been nice to know that Randy was staying in the trailer 3 feet away from the kitchen door, more as a courtesy so that we would make sure not too be too loud or rambunctious late at night). 2.) If you do not like spiders, renter beware. We know that being up north (especially near a large lake) that bugs and critters are just a way of life. However, there was an abundance of spider webs - one web was about 3 feet wide was directly on top of the door. We probably killed about 15 spiders over the two days we were there. 3.) While the space seemed cleaned for the most part the screens, fans, window AC units, and the tables probably had not been fully wiped down in sometime. We brought along plastic table cloths so this wasn't that great of an issue but just an observation. The bathroom was very clean which was greatly appreciative - though the water pressure from the well was fairly low but the hot water was always readily available. Though there was a box of lucky charms that was left behind on top of the fridge by a previous renter. We truly enjoyed our weekend.

Beware!

I have never written a review but am only doing this so others don't end up in the same situation. After booking Randy's place on 6/27 we got an immediate confirmation that it was available and he confirmed our booking for 8/3-5. I hadn't heard from Randy about entry into the property as of 7/30 (which was a few days before our stay) so I emailed to ask about keys and arrival and he replied "Hello I’m away from my calendar currently I will double check your reservation and confirm the house will be open [and tell you how to enter property] if there is a balance owed I will collect at that time" I replied that I had paid the balance a week ago to which he replied "Yes I see that thank you". We assumed the property was ours because of the confirmation we received on 6/27 and the fact that he didn't tell us otherwise on 7/30. So we arrived to the property we rented and paid for to find out it was already booked and people were staying there. Randy was no where to be found so we had to message him through VRBO. Besides the issue with double booking the property does not at all look like the pictures. Not good for young families at all, not saying he marketed it towards young families but would not recommend for young families. The beach is not a beach, the fire pit area does not look like pictures and the water and firepit are both accesible only be crossing a road. As others mentioned there are multiple trailers only feet from the property so not sure who stays in these. When I finally spoke with Randy about the doublebooking he didn't know it was an issue until we spoke. Seems like some serious mismanagement of his booking calendar to only have the issue pop up when someone calls you from your property notifying you there are people already in it. Needless to say he issued a refund after he realized it was double booked, not the whole refund. I called VRBO and they said Randy had to cancel the reservation on his end so that I could receive the full refund. VRBO kept me on hold while they called Randy on my behalf to have him do this while they were on the phone and he did. Randy did message after that phone call to say he took care of it with VRBO and I would be receiving a full message. I'm glad we received our full refund but still not sure if this would have happened without me calling VRBO as Randy did not initiate that on his own. Beware, deceptive, not like the pictures and property is uncared for. Needs improvement.

Pet friendly place right on the lake with a beautiful view. Could use some updating as far as entertainment system and amenities. But it’s a nice basic place to get away for a weekend.

We had a wonderful long weekend at the cabin. If you are looking for an true rustic cabin stay this is it! It was clean and you had everything you would need right there.

Was disappointed by this stay. The home had many leaks such as the toilet and roof (water dripped on my head while sleeping). Kitchen has minimal appliances to cook. The owner also lingered around and made us feel uncomfortable. I would not recommend staying here.

Great cabin

The cabin was a great cabin and had all we needed. The kitchen fully furnished for cooking. There was plenty of towels for us for showers. Also slept pretty well on the beds. Fishing was rough while we were here but the cabin was a nice little stay.

Great view, great stay

Cute place, a little rustic, but cozy. Beautiful view of the lake and sunrise. Only one wash cloth, but i brought some of my own. Owner was great, check in easy. Quirt area.

Mouse house

The house had a serious mouse issue. The mice ruined our bread and chips that were out overnight. We were watching tv and we found a mouse eating in our sink at one point. There were mouse droppings in the beds. The bathroom was gross. The third bedroom is not a bedroom but in fact a very small room with a small hide a bed. The boat rental is a joke- the pontoon was very old. The living room furniture is not comfortable. My review would be to not rent this place.

Relaxing

We didn't stay at the cabin we originally rented but I think the one we stayed in was nicer. The deck and living room overlooked the lake which was really nice. The decor was of Randy and Angies world travels and was very unique and interesting. The hosts stays in a RV on property between the two cabins, not a huge deal but not private. The reason I only gave 4 stars was we had to clean cobwebs off deck furniture before we could use it and the windows needed cleaning.

Quite retreat

I threw my husbands 40th birthday party with close friends . The cabin was clean and and described as posted. We enjoyed our stay and the host was helpful and responded back with questions I needed answered.

Needs some work..

While I'm sure Randy will disagree with items in my review, because that is who he is; I just want to state that everyone was super friendly at Randy's Rentals, welcoming, kind, never told us to quiet down. Nothing! We had 10 women on this trip for a bachelorette party, so you know we were loud. They even built us a big fire in our fire pit, it was super awesome. But, unfortunately, despite the efforts put in to cleaning the cabin by the owners, it just wasn't clean at all. It also stunk really bad, alot of urine smells, and just gross. Which lead to the owners using a ton of aerosols to cover up the smells; which only increased the issue of having a hard time breathing-all guests with me stated the same thing. I slept in my car all wknd. Not many lights in the cabin, so it remains pretty dark. Dust and cobwebs. When we went to run the bathtub to shower, brown water came out, a lot of caulk around drain. Just overall not the best place for myself and my guests. Outdated. The outside has been updated, so it doesn't look like the photos here. But the inside could use money put in to it, new carpeting, floor braces, and some new carpeting or better yet waterproof vinyl flooring. Tub needs Jesus. Great location though, felt safe, neighbor was so friendly and joined in games with us. Large cabin! Randy took a group photo, at our request. Just kind people around there. Shoreline is rocky, dock needs an update. Randy did warn about shoreline. Great yard- good size. Was a fun wknd!

My cabin was very clean

My family and I had a great time! The cabin was clean and had almost everything we needed. They don't supply Wash clothes but it was fine because I had my own. It was across the street from water but not a big deal because we also had a great view of the lake. We will be going back again.

Disgusting and full of mice.

There was mouse poop on all the mattresses. It smelled of dead old fish everywhere. The lake sucks and there is no beach. The cabin was disgusting and was literally a patched together shed. The ac was pulling air from a shed full of garbage. Mouse traps on the kitchen counters. We caught a mouse on our first night there. We stayed one night and left the next morning on a four day trip. This place is disgusting and should not be allowed to be rented out. The pictures are lies and this place sucks. Don’t recommend staying here especially for the price!
