This spacious Southern Home located on the Historical Johnny Mercer Moon River is just what you've been looking for. With enough space to comfortably accommodate the whole family, this waterfront home provides amazing early morning views of the Sunrise and evening views of a Full Moon. Relax on the large back porch facing the pool and river. Make Plans to enjoy a true coastal vacation whether in the pool or on the dock. You can enjoy days of relaxation, fishing, swimming, kayaking and crabbing right out your back door.

You’ll be just 3 miles from close by historical sites, 10 miles from downtown savannah (where you can find all the boutique shopping, fine dining restaurants, and family-friendly activities this city has to offer) and just 25 miles from Tybee Island beach.

Lovely House and Lovely Setting

Very homey feel, beautiful house, beautiful setting and equal access to Savannah and Hilton Head. Close to Wormslow and a must visit location … beautiful live oak alley and walk, trolly or bike ride. Seen dolphins by the dock too.

Peaceful Get away for Christmas.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Moon River house. It was lovely. Made for a much needed calm and peaceful Christmas Holiday. We will def stay again in the future.

Great home! Perfect location! That view 😍!

Lisa was awesome! The home was stocked with many extras like hand soap at every sink, dishwasher detergent, laundry pods, paper towels and napkins etc… which made settling in to the very comfy home that much easier! The kitchen was well stocked with nice pots and pans, serving platters and also condiments that you typically don’t get in a home rental. We cooked all meals at home. Very comfortable beds too. Would definitely recommend and stay there again!

River Relaxation

This house is a fantastic place to relax, fish, crab, swim, and explore Savannah. It’s clean, well appointed, and extremely comfortable. Lisa, the host, was available and responsive. I highly recommend this property.

Wonderful Wedding Weekend

We booked this home for a wedding weekend. It was so spacious. Huge kitchen and living area plus plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms which allowed us to spread out. Wonderful views and very welcoming. Owner was great to work with and home is in a great location. Would love to return!

Great weekend despite the rain

My husband and 2 adult children plus their spouses came to Savannah for a long weekend. Unfortunately, it rained all weekend. This did not stop us from having a great time. The house was perfect for us. It was very comfortable and had all the things we needed. The host, Lisa, was the best. She was very accommodating and quick to reply to our emails. I would highly recommend renting this house.

Charming house on the river

Absolutely wonderful property for a long weekend with friends. The house had ample space for 3 couples and well-stocked kitchen to make breakfast and lunches. The views from the deck are stunning, and the neighborhood is quiet and serene. Excellent communication with the host Lisa. Absolutely recommended!

Perfect Weekend!

My friends and I stayed at Moon River for a long weekend. We hung by the pool and went swimming off the dock. The owner was very helpful through the whole process and the house was even more than what we were expecting. It is just outside downtown Savannah which was perfect for what we were wanting. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful Sunrise

This is the ultimate home away from home! We swam everyday in this wonderful pool, grilled, kayaked and loved the bed swing on the porch. Great location for the beach and downtown. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t say enough about the host…absolutely the nicest! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

2024 Savannah Trip

This was our 2nd extended stay at the Moon River House. It is a perfect spot for our family to relax, explore, fish, swim, be close to family and the state park on nearby Skidaway. We’ll be back soon. Lisa is a great host and makes things super easy.

Great Getaway

The property fit our family needs completely. Our family enjoyed the pool and dock especially. The fishing and crabbing was fun. Lisa offers so many more amenities than other places. The home was well equipped with all kitchen necessities (including a great grill), plenty of linens and games. Lisa was the perfect host, quickly responding to requests or needs. I would recommend this place without hesitation.

Family vacation

The property was like a home away from home, we felt comfortable and cozy the moment we walked in! Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool, the ladies enjoyed the view, and the guys loved the fishing experience from the private dock. We look forward to another stay in the future!

Fantastic Home

Great Home with everything you need and more! Lisa was wonderful and her home was amazing with anything you need for a great week. Dock was clean and easily accessible, pool was great, beds were amazing, would stay here again no questions asked! Within driving distance of pretty much anything, and far enough that you can get away from the crowd!

Moon River House

My family and I enjoyed a weeklong stay in the house. The house had plenty of space and bedrooms for our entire crew. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The smaller kids really loved the pool and took full advantage of it the entire week. We even tried fishing off the dock. It was close enough to downtown Savannah and we made several trips downtown. Everyone had a great time.

Beautiful property

Moon River House is a beautiful property inside and out. We had a wonderful time hanging out by the pool and sitting out on the dock (we even saw river dolphins!). The home itself is clean and beautifully decorated. Great communication with the owner. A quiet neighborhood close to downtown Savannah. We would definitely stay here again.

A wonderful getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at Moon River! The views with our coffee in the morning were spectacular. We were a group of 8 ladies and had ample space! We enjoyed our dinner overlooking the water an spotting some wildlife. We would love to come back!
