Great property

Loved the split bedroom arrangements. Property clean, kitchen great for cooking and chilling. We had a rainy day… great place to hang out. Neighbors were very kind and helpful.

Chicago Brownstone

The Brownstone we stayed in was beautiful, fairly close to places we wanted to see in Chicago. It would have been nice if more bath and kitchen towels had been provided and there was no detergent to wash the ones available. Also would have liked to know during the booking process that the condo was located on the third floor. But overall very nice.

We discovered a treasure in Bronzeville

We chose to stay in Bronzeville due to its accessibility to Hyde Park when visiting for a wedding there. I knew the history of the historically Black neighborhood and wanted to experience it first-hand. The apartment appeared just as it did in photos and was very comfortable for two adult couples. The hosts were attentive to us from the moment we booked through the end of our stay. The greatest challenge was heaving heavy luggage up three flights of steep stairs. Once in the apartment all was very homelike and lovely. Another challenge, not at all reflective of the hosts, was the noise in the neighborhood -- loud canon like booms of firecrackers or fireworks that rang out through the night and noise from a loud house party in a dwelling across the street interrupted our peace. If only we had been invited. :) Otherwise, the neighborhood was a gem! We found the neighbors delightful and great restaurants, shops, and historical institutions close by that we will be sure to revisit. Finally, the hosts were very kind to negotiate our use beyond the agreed upon stay arrangements for a fee. We were so grateful for their flexibility and willingness to suggest options to address our request.

Great Graduation Retreat

Spacious and comfortable. We were in Chicago for a graduation and this was a nice retreat after long days! Also a quick Uber ride to campus. Mrs. J was very responsive to questions.

Marathon Weekend in Chicago

Came to Chicago for the marathon and had a great time at this lovely home. Super close to public transit and great neighborhood. Host was super responsive and helped with a birthday surprise. 10/10 would book again!

Great place to stay.

Thanks for the great stay. This building had such fantastic architecture and was well decorated. The owners were very fast to respond to any request and we enjoyed our stay. Only an 8-minute drive to the McCormick place and we had plenty of street parking. I wish, we had planned better to cook in this unit, beautiful kitchen. In my opinion, the best part was the back deck.

Diamond in the Rough

This was perhaps one of the cleanest & most well stocked rentals we have stayed in...and that would be from many. The neighborhood is a little questionable at 1st glance; however, it is clear this is an upcoming area, with many renovation & vacation homes in the Community. Once inside, you could definitely tell the Host went well above to assure all Guest received 5-star accommodation. Our Host exercised excellent communication skills & did any/everything to ensure we enjoyed our stay! Thank you Janice! 😊 We would definitely return visit when in the area again!

Great stay

I booked this place last minute for a quick trip to Chicago and even after that my plans changed again. The hosts were super accommodating, professional and friendly. The home is exactly like in the description, beautiful and cozy. I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I wanted to because we did so much running around but it was perfect for my family and I to have enough space and privacy. It's in a great location, not too close but not far from main attractions. If I'm ever in the area again this place will definitely be my first option!

Classy

The place was even better than the pics. Though there were only two of us, we really enjoyed the spaciousness. The kitchen was great! Loved that it had 2 baths. Being honest, there were a couple things that bothered us. For one, we could not turn off the Jaccuzi. After many attempts, I found the breaker and turned it off. The knob we were supposed to use according to directions was not working. The other thing was the sound system. There should be a printed sheet with instructions on how to use the functions without a bunch of guesswork. If you want music besides FM, better bring your own CDs because we saw no way to access Apple Music, Pandora, etc. Having said all that, those issues were not deal breakers and we would definitely stay there again.

Nicely appointed and maintained

I was pleasantly surprised that the accommodations were as described and pictured. Excellent communication from property managers, expectations/regulations were clear, check in process was straight-forward. Good amenities. Only wished for a little more TP and the HVAC was a bit louder than expected. Overall would stay here again.

Renovated and spacious brownstone apartment

My friend and I decided to celebrate our milestone birthdays in Chicago this year. We chose this place as a conveniently located alternate to a city hotel. It's a nicely remodeled, very spacious top floor unit. Once you get your things upstairs (good workout with luggage!), you enjoy high ceilings, wood flooring throughout, big eat in kitchen with center island, big living room with lots of light, and a great Bose audio system. It's an up and coming part of town so a lot of the neighboring brownstones are either under construction or in need of remediation. However, the neighborhood is quiet and seems quite safe, there’s plenty of street parking, and a 10-minute ride into downtown Chicago (never more than a 5-minute wait for an uber or lyft to arrive). There's also a nearby CTA station if you want to take the L into town. We wanted to stock up on some stuff and Janice recommended Mariano's--a terrific nearby market that will meet all your grocery needs and then some. Similar to a Whole Foods but with better prices, fresh foods, prepared foods, massive liquor department and even live music! This is a relatively new listing so they're still in a bit of a learning curve. Because it was our birthdays, we splurged on what appeared to be a luxury listing, and so were puzzled that the beautiful kitchen had almost no amenities to cook with, and they only provided 4 forks, 4 knives, and 4 soup spoons (??) so we had to keep hand washing our cutlery. We weren't crazy about the dollar store plastic plates and bowls, and missed the little details that a super host would make sure were stocked (e.g., boxes of tissues, extra paper towels, plenty of dish towels, a dish drainer, dish washer detergent, shampoo, extra pillows and blankets, instructions for the electronics and gas fireplace, some information about local amenities/attractions, etc.). Nothing fatal though and Janice was super responsive and came through for us with essential items and also provided chairs and a little table for the deck so we could enjoy it for our stay. Sadly, we never got to enjoy the gas fireplace as there were no instructions and we couldn't figure it out, and the master bath jacuzzi is basically a big soaking tub as the jets have long ago given up the ghost. Overall, though, this is a terrific condo and some attention to the finer details will make it truly a ‘home away from home’.

Great place and location

My daughter and I, Came into Chicago, for some sporting events. It was a perfect location for all. Very close to Comiskey and Soldier field 10 - 15$ uber/Lyft and fast easy highway access to notre Dame stadium 5 minutes and all highway after that. The property is updated and very nice, all modern conveniences for a 50 and 30 year old. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again.

Bronzeville

Very nice condo. We rented this place while attending Riotfest. The property is in a residential neighborhood, so not much as far as restaurants and bars in the area. But a short uber ride took us everywhere. The place was clean and well stocked, with more than enough room for us. Janice our host made sure everything was A-Ok.

Amazing Hospitality

Janice was an amazing host. On several occasions she texted to make sure my husband and I were fine, gave grocery store recommendations, asked if we needed more pillows, etc. The home was exactly what was expected. Very spacious, clean, literally a home away from home. The surround sound and spa tub was by far the best. The neighborhood and neighbors were also very pleasant to us during our stay. Anytime I am visiting the Chicago area and the property is available, this will be my choice of stay. Thank you Janice for being such a great host.
