This updated cozy cottage is one block from Lake Michigan. Located only 8 minutes north of South Haven and 20 mins south of Saugatuck/Douglas.

At the Hygge Cottage you're a short walk from catching spectacular sunsets. Located on a quiet block the home offers a nice sized backyard for activities, grilling, and two patios for outdoor dining / morning coffee.

Located only a 2 minute drive from Cogdal Winery and Hawkshead Golf Course. When you are ready to visit the surrounding area, take Blue Star north and hit the farmers markets, galleries and downtown shops in Saugatuck/Douglas or head south to South Haven for amazing restaurants, boat rentals, and public parks and beaches.

Whether you are looking for lots of activities or a quiet peaceful getaway, The Hygge Lake Cottage offers the best of both worlds.

* One block away from Lake Michigan cliff. Due to past erosion, this home has is no direct access to the shoreline at the end of the block. We do not belong to the stairs or tram association. We are short drive (about 7-13 mins) to lovely public beach access. The cliff provides great sunset / sunrise views.

Home is only 1 hour away from Notre Dame.

Wonderful home with a great view of the lake. The house was clean and comfortable, perfect for a family getaway. We didn't have any issues during our stay, but we found the host to be friendly, easy to contact, and very helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hygge House. The house was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Everything was just as it was described in the booking. We appreciated all the little extra touches in the house. Best part for us was early morning coffee on the front deck listening to the roosters crow and seeing the deer come and go thru the clearing. The neighbors at the end of the road didn’t mind us pausing to watch the sunset over the water in the evenings. Great place to relax and unwind, would love to stay again!

It’s the perfect stay with kids especially if you’re not right on the beach and need to drive anyways. It’s quiet and peaceful. The bed in the smaller bedroom was a little hard but I was so tired it didn’t really matter.

We have been to the South Haven / St. Joseph area for five summers in a row now, and the last two we have stayed at this cottage. It is simply perfect for our family of four. My teenage boys and wife love it: she says she could live her year round. This year we got the perfect sunset on our arrival night, overlooking Lake Michigan which is just at block away at the end of the road. It is pretty quick to drive to great beaches in St. Joseph, South Haven, Saugatuck or Holland: we checked out Holland this year, simply a wonderful town. We love the firepit in the evening, grilling and eating on the deck, and the cottage is always clean and well stocked with towels, excellent air conditioning, and the beds are comfortable. It's now our summer home !

Comfortable and cozy. No complaint's what so ever. If a issue did come up, the owner responded asap. I would recommend "The Beach House" for your stay in South Haven or surrounding area's.
My stay was an extended stay during the winter months. I so enjoyed the cute kitchen which offered up everything needed for holiday baking and cozy meals.

We had an amazing time here over a holiday weekend! The neighborhood is really cute with lots of amazing rentals and lake views just a quick walk away. The place was more spacious than in pictures and the was very comfortable for two couples & a kiddo. We would definitely stay again. For those wondering if there is any way to sneak to the beach (I know I was hoping I could), there truly is no way down without a scan card and a code. Cameras everywhere and super steep erosion! This is of no fault to the host, they are clear about this in the listing, I just figured id share! We were able to watch the big south haven fireworks show from the end of the street, and were able to drive to public beaches in less than 10 minutes!

Quiet, comfortable and clean. Close to everything that you would want to do. Beaches, parks, wineries and shopping. I would recommend The Lodge for simple dining in South Haven.
