This updated cozy cottage is one block from Lake Michigan. Located only 5 minutes north of South Haven and 20 mins south of Saugatuck/Douglas.

At the Hygge Cottage you're a short walk from catching spectacular sunsets. Located on a quiet block the home offers a nice sized backyard for activities, grilling, and two patios for outdoor dining / morning coffee.

Located only a 2 minute drive from Cogdal Winery and Hawkshead Golf Course. When you are ready to visit the surrounding area, take Blue Star north and hit the farmers markets, galleries and downtown shops in Saugatuck/Douglas or head south to South Haven for amazing restaurants, boat rentals, and public parks and beaches.

Whether you are looking for lots of activities or a quiet peaceful getaway, The Hygge Lake Cottage offers the best of both worlds.

* One block away from Lake Michigan cliff. Due to erosion, there is no direct access ( stairs or tram) to the shoreline at the end of the block. We are short drive to lovely public beach access. The cliff provides great sunset / sunrise views.

Home is only 1 hour away from Notre Dame.

Great retreat location

This cottage was completely adorable and SO clean! The pictures on VRBO don't do it justice. The decor had a natural (loved the live plants!) and soothing feel. The area was very quiet and perfect for my solo retreat. It's also a very short drive to Kal-Haven trail, which was a delight. I plan to rent this again as this is one of the nicest VRBOs I've stayed in.

House was great with only 1 big issue. Owner stares shower door needs to be lifted to open & close. Its much worse than stated. It’s an accident waiting to happen. One of our guests got stuck & had to have someone come in to open the door. The house otherwise was perfect,cozy & comfortable.

Hidden Gem

We have been using VRBO for years and have booked numerous accommodations through them. This little cottage house was 5 star all the way. The description of the listing is 100% accurate, which often isn't the case. In fact, the pictures don't really do it justice. Every room, every piece of furniture, and every blanket or bath towel was beyond comfortable. That can't be overstated. The bed was so wonderful (and we're picky) that we didn't want to get out of it! Suzy was an excellent host and immediately responsive to any questions. The house was IMMACULATE, so kudos to the cleaning company. Also, we like to cook on our weekends away and the kitchen was fully stocked with anything you could possibly need. Again, we often don't find that to be the case in our rental experience. The location is great, with the house being on a dead-end road and not close to any busy road. The trees offer tremendous privacy. We highly recommend this property---you won't be disappointed. Thank you Suzy!

So relaxing

This was a getaway for my mom and I. A little shopping and wine tasting. The home is beautiful and had everything we needed and more. Such care for the guests, she provided bath soaps, spices, teas, coffee and so much more. We are definitely planning a return trip with the girls. 6 people can comfortably sleep here. Beds were fantastic.

Perfect location!

This very nice beach house is located a block or so from Lake Michigan & although there is awful beach erosion, the sunset views were incredible! There are so many Lake Michigan beaches so close to the house - it literally took us less than 10 minutes to get to several! Also, proximity to Phoenix Street and historic downtown South Haven was wonderful! The house sits on a beautiful lot and you have no neighbors close by so it's very quiet! It is decorated really cute with tons of real plants & every comfort of home - soft throws, comfortable furniture and bed, coffee beans with a grinder for fresh coffee & various teas and a tea kettle. Only utensil we couldn't find was a pizza cutter, but a large knife worked great! It's bright and airy and we would definitely stay here again.

Cute/clean house

Very cute house. Very clean and has all the amenities. Beds were comfortable. My one complaint would be the shower. Not great water pressure. Could have been user error. But other than that we loved it. Nice area. Short drive to the beach.

Awesome house

House was very clean and decorated beautifully in a quiet neighborhood. Plenty of room for two adults and two kids. Full kitchen has everything you need. The deck was a great place to hang out and had a sun shade overhang so you weren't directly in the sun. Very quick drive to downtown and plenty to do. 10/10 would recommend!

Cozy Cottage

Suzy has made a clean, cozy and exceptionally decorate space to enjoy with friends and family alike. The area is great for a tranquil stroll or a quiet night under the stars by a camp fire. Just a lovely retreat within 10 minutes of downtown South Haven happenings.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

It was our first time in South Haven and it was a perfect weekend getaway. Susan’s home is beautiful, impeccably clean and had all the lovely decor and little touches to make it feel so warm, cozy and comfortable. Even had a list on the counter of recommendations for places to eat, beaches and outdoor activities. The neighborhood was so peaceful and serene and close to everything. Susan was very responsive and easy to work with and we hope to rent her home again in the future. Thanks Susan for a wonderful stay. :)

Wonderful house! This was by far the cleanest rental I’ve ever stayed in. The decor and overall appearance was fantastic, and the kitchen had everything we needed and more! The host was very responsive when I had questions. My family had an amazing week stay.

Second stay here: love it.

This is my second time staying at this home and I love it just as much as the first. Great location to restaurants, marina, highway but super quiet and peaceful. Everything you need in the kitchen is provided, board games, tv with Roku as well. Beds were comfortable and the deck was perfect to relax. Definitely my go to spot when visiting South Haven. Highly recommend.

This was the cutest little house! We loved our stay. Everything was updated & nicely decorated. Large master bedroom, beautiful modern kitchen & a gorgeous yard. Close to town in a quiet, nice neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again when in south haven! Cannot give it high enough marks

Eclectic Hideaway Near Beaches Galore

Cozy beach vibe cottage which is perfect for a couple or small family to get away from the hustle and bustle. Decently private, quiet enough, and plenty of nature to listen to as well. Lots of restaurants and hikes nearby for pure vacation enjoyment! And Property Manager did great communication throughout!

Can’t wait to stay again!

What a lovely home. Everything you need for a perfect stay just outside of the main areas but 5 minutes to the beach. Very clean throughout, the washer and dryer is a bonus. I did cook while there and everything I needed I found easily. Owners were very easy to communicate with. The little touches of having coffee, tea and popcorn available was perfect. There are board games for rainy days and a charcoal grill for sunny ones. Very quiet street that you can walk down to see the sunset on the bluff. 10/10 would stay again. Thank you for a wonderful mini vacation stay

Very nice getaway

The place was very clean and had a great vibe. I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and this was the perfect place to veg. Although it was snowing and cold the interior design made me feel like I was at the beach in Mid July. I definitely will plan a stay there again.
