Welcome to Shoreview Cottage!
Get ready to take in amazing views of Lake Michigan and enjoy the private 100' sandy beach in this 2-bedroom cottage in South Haven. This lovely property features 1 queen bed, 2 twin beds, and a full size bed with twin trundle bed underneath. With heating, AC, and a gas fireplace you will be comfortable in any season. Sit on the deck with a cocktail while watching the waves wash ashore and let the everyday stress go away. Enjoy peaceful walks along the shore looking for beach glass and Petoskey stones. South Haven's key location is a great jumping off point to be in Saugatuck in minutes for shopping and galleries, Holland for its charm, and so many more beautiful places and attractions. There is great hiking, biking, and of course fishing throughout the great state. Some of the best salmon fishing outfitters are based in SH, let us know if you need a recommendation to have an outstanding experience going after salmon on the big water. Find out why Lake Michigan has such a place in your soul once you have experienced it.
The kitchen overs stove top, oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. There is a dining room table that seats six, and an additional nook for seating and playing games with the family in the sunroom. Sectional sofa in the living room with a smart TV. We will provide Netflix and Disney+, feel free to bring your passwords to your other favorite TV apps!
We are refreshing and doing some updates over the fall/ spring. Stay tuned for updates pictures as we give the cottage a mini makeover!

We thoroughly enjoyed a few days at the house. We loved having beachfront access to the lake. The house was a perfect fit for our family of four. Would definitely come back again!

This was a very cute, well maintained property. The finishings were very nice and the kitchen was well-stocked with all the items we needed. The view was magnificent! The walk down to the beach and back was quite a work-out for our senior ladies. However, it was beautiful.With the house being For Sale, we actually allowed a realtor and his clients access to the home. I had a realtor in our group, so we welcomed the visitors a chance to look around. We would definitely come back next year!!!

Can’t beat the location! Home was clean, bright and cutely decorated. Well stocked with all the kitchen utensils, grill and smoker, pillows, blankets, beach chairs and toys and most any other odds or ends you may need. Large deck to watch the beautiful sunsets! Direct access to the beach. Not an issue for our group, but there are stairs that lead down to the beach for about 2/3 of it. The remainder of it you have to climb up and down a sand hill. There is a rope for assistance, but may be a challenge for those with mobility issues. There are other nearby beaches which may have alternate access. Cell service was pretty spotty as well. I don’t think it had anything to with the house, just the location being near the lake. Gabrielle was efficient, accommodating and prompt in communication and check in and out was a breeze (not crazy to do list, just common courtesy clean up). The beach access, views, and Just a 5 minute drive to downtown South Have make this a must book!

BEWARE, this rental is now offered by a different part of the family and prior arrangements are no longer acceptable. They did some surface redecorating including painting over windowsills making it hard to open windows but left a 6 inch hole in a windowsill. They are very fussy about changing the position of their decorative items, some of which look easily breakable. They have a camera surveillance of the deck (maybe others?). Several huge tree branches had fallen across the path to the stairs which were not cleared away from a storm. The neighbor is very territorial and will come out and shout if you cross his perceived boundary on the beach. Access to the gorgeous beach is difficult for an older person, stairs only go halfway down.

I understand that you are upset that we canceled your next booking because of your failure to follow the rules. We have very few. Yet you brought your dog when we said ‘no pets’, didn’t ask about if we would honor what the previous owner did, and therefor let you dog in the house and all over our brand new never used couch. We had to pay extra cleaning fees to get the white dog hair and sand off the navy couch. Fees that we did not pass on to you. Then you didn’t run/ empty the dishwasher as stated in closing up. Moved artwork around on the walls, I’m sorry, you don’t live there. Left food in the house, bathroom was a mess. Not being fussy, just expect some respect for all the work we have done to make it an enjoyable place for people to come. We have had a window on order (and hopefully can be replaced soon). As far as the branch on the steps, I’m sorry, the storm came in right before you all got there and no one was there to pick it up. The steps also go as far down as they can based on beach conditions.

The home was very nicely updated, perfectly clean, and just a 20 minute walk to town. Would definitely stay here again. Saugatuck and Grand Haven a short drive away as well, we did day trips to both on rainy days.

Gorgeous setting, a rare lakefront cottage in a fun town in Southwest MI. Comfortable & convenient. Longer but do-able walk into the town center. For those traveling with mobility challenges there are longer stairs to the dune & beach. Already talking about when we can come back!
