This is a private hilltop home, situated on a beautiful hill just about 10-15 mins away from downtown Charlotte Amalie and less than 7 mins away from Megan's bay beach as well as Coki beach. Enjoy a country feel environment with private courtyard with barbeque grill and a front balcony where you can enjoy the beautiful serene scenery. We are also located close to Caribbean cinemas where you can enjoy movie night with the family and a fitness gym a short drive down the hill

Loved it!

Best vacation ever! Beautiful view awesome Villa! Everything you need and just up the hill from Magens Bay Beach. Hist was wonderful and very informative of local activities and events. Will definitely stay here again.

I love the house and the area in was very quiet and relaxing i didn't like the drive way much better other than that ill go back again my host was awsome!

Welcoming a New Year in St. Thomas

We are St. Thomas regulars at this point - our seventh trip down, but first time getting away from the resort/condo accommodations and staying at a villa in the hills. What a great decision to do so! Wintberg Tropical Villas checked all of our boxes - a lovely property with breezes and a pool (which I swam in every day - not too cold and just the right size for a small multi-unit villa). I loved having a private yard and a grill associated with our unit. We prefer to cook when we travel and clearly there was a lot of attention paid to the kitchen in the unit - we were not lacking for anything. We only ran the a/c at night when we slept, fans and open windows and doors were great during the day (prepare for mosquitos and no-see-ums at night by closing the doors as dusk approaches!). The shower water temperature got nice and warm after letting it run a little at first. I highly recommend renting a car if staying here as you are living the villa life, so there is not a lot within walking distance. So, if you just intend to relax away from it all and take each day as it comes, Wintberg Tropical Villas is a lovely choice. Or plan a lot, but rent a car if you do so. Most importantly, Alvin (owner) and Wonda (manager) were wonderful. They were prompt in answering any questions and attending to any needs. In fact, the coconuts on the property were ripe for the cutting and we were gifted with fresh coconuts/water. It was the best I ever had. Loved our stay.

Rosendal perched on the side of the mountain

Besides being a little hard to find, the place was wonderful! It is centrally located to all parts of the island and very close to Megan's Bay Beach. The pool is on the Northern side of the house so it does not get too hot and there is always a lovely breeze. The property manager was very helpful and the owner had many great suggestions for places to eat.

We can celebrate something without it being meant for us, right? Everyone has different preferences. Truth is, my host was great, and my property manager was wonderful, but my expectations were a little different than reality. There was great communication throughout my experience, from booking to arrival. I even got weather updates for the day so I could make educated plans for the day. I did get the location of the unit an hour before check in, but I was on airport wifi when that happened. By the time I had the rental car, I didn't have wifi/data access anymore so it made locating the property almost impossible without it. Thankfully the property manager answered my call and resent the directions but was also willing to meet me in the closest public space and escort me. (Which was very nice). I did question the safety of the area I was getting lost in though. I managed to locate the property, but if you plan on renting a car, the smaller the better. (All over the island- just some insight.) I was anxious driving up the steep driveway and parking in my assigned spot because I was nervous I would hit a privacy wall or two. To touch on my expectations, I thought each balcony was one rental. While I only had experienced my unit, my observation was there were two units per balcony. Also, I anticipated the pool to be a a standard size pool. It was not. I(The pool and view during the sunset was amazing, and the lights outdoors were beautiful). Depending on the number of guests in a party who might be trying to enjoy to pool at the same time, I think it could either get real friendly, or real awkward quickly. We were very cognizant of the quiet hours requested. The store down the hill played music on Sunday night past midnight, which I think I read another reviewer experienced. While it was a nice unit, and my interactions with my host and pm were above my expectations, I felt that I was in an area that was less accustomed to visitors and less tolerant. Which makes sense, we were in a residential area, but was just something I didn't anticipate. If you want something very quiet and secluded, this is a great place, but I realized our vibe is more touristy, people around, music at a bar and holding a drink I don't have to make myself. Pros: Communication, cleanliness, ran very professionally. Cons: Location, proximity to activities, driveway not for the faint of heart.

Our stay was exactly what we needed, the property is beautiful. The owner and management were incredible and really committed to the property and giving us a great experience. Our villa was comfortable, clean and quiet with a wonderful view. The pool is relaxing and positioned perfectly for a sunset swim. We found it easy to travel to either side of the island in short time. We really cannot say enough about our stay and how unforgettable it was.

Beautiful Villa

Fantastic place to stay in St. Thomas with a beautiful view Hosts were very accommodating and personable. The villa fit our needs well. Clean,comfortable reasonably priced. We are looking forward to returning.

Beautiful place but too many issues, will not stay again

Beautiful place but would not recommend for the price. Stayed for a week and wifi was spotty at best, could not check work stuff or use for anything, but they said they were streaming with no problems, it was never good for entire stay. Pool did not have heater so it looked nice but was way too cold to actually use it. No water for almost 24 hours due to other overnight guests using it up when we were there for the entire week so we could not shower or flush toilet that night or following morning. Mold in coffeepot, requested different coffeepot, same thing...yuck. Paid way too much for a subpar stay. Monet situation... looks great from a distance but up close it's a mess. And an expensive one at that.

One week trip

We had a very nice stay at this condo. The view is excellent. There was more than enough room and the use of a full kitchen/grill was a great thing. The rooms were kept cool with the AC units at night and we often had windows open with the January weather. There could be a few more items for the kitchen to be fully useable for cooking and the towel bar was lose but other than minor things the hosts and property manager were very communicative and provided great tips!

Great experience. Host was very hospitable and responsive to needs of guest. Great view from balcony. Area was quiet and near the beach. Air conditioning in bedrooms kept you cool at night. Suggest A/C or fan for living room. Enjoyed my experience and would definitely live here again.

Had some last-minute plans and came across this villa. Contacted the host and got instant details on the place. He also stayed in contact with me up until I got to the place, which was very easy to find. The place was top-notch, modern, very clean, and sanitized. The area is very quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend it.

Hillside House has an outside areas with seating and the property stands in just over a half an acre of land with tropical fruit trees which includes Mangoes, coconuts, lime trees etc. Beautiful views and a small supermarket at the bottom of the hill with everything you may need to make your stay with us even better. We have a fully equipped kitchen with all major appliances and an outdoor area for grilling with a barbeque grill. Relaxing front balconies with beautiful views where you can enjoy a meal. Our bedroom are comfortable equipped with beach home and beach towels washcloths, iron and ironing board and all other necessities
