We stayed during the summer. We were happy with the home and were very comfortable. The night sky was a nice bonus. We always appreciate stocked kitchens and bathrooms, which this house had. We enjoyed using the pool table in the basement. If someone is planning to sleep down there, it's fairly humid, but there is a dehumidifier. The master bedroom could have used a larger bed as well as a dresser to put clothes in, but the bed was comfortable.

Beautiful, clean home with great amenities (washer/dryer, full kitchen, backyard) close to Taos with plenty to do! We enjoyed nearby hiking trails, restaurants, shops and game nights in with the pups. Thanks for your hospitality!

Communicative host. Clean, easy to get to and from for skiing in the valley. Unique and great Northern NM style. Relatively quiet and easy to micro-control temperatures throughout the home.

The property had almost everything one would need. The host has stocked the house with all the necessities and then some. They even had Q-tips in a jar in the bathroom that my daughter and niece appreciated. There was a bit of a hiccup with the temperature going over 95 degrees for the few days that we were there. There is no AC in this house, nor would I guess that you would need one based on how cold it can get in the night. But we were their in a heatwave that the locals even complained about. Jeff was considerate and worked with us to accommodate the complexity. Otherwise the place is a home away from home like the description says. It is just outside of town and close to the Ski Valley area. It is quiet and peaceful with little to no light pollution, making it nice to star gaze outside.

Great visit!

Beautiful sunsets, well appointed home, beds were comfortable, lots of space, and the kitchen is quaint with all the amenities. We were very happy during our stay.

Our party stayed at Arroyo Seco for five nights, September 8-13, 2026, for Michael Hearn’s Big Barn Dance. Our overall experience was quite pleasant. As other posts have noted, there is no air conditioning at the house. Daytime temperatures were in the mid-80s, cooling to the mid-50s by morning. The host did provide multiple window fans to air out the house in the evening. I will note that the three awning windows in the living room had broken mechanisms and were not fully operational. While our overall experience was quite pleasant, there are some issues to be aware of prior to booking. The trundle bed in the game room is located in the basement, accessed by very steep stairs and no secondary egress. It was also musty. There are several different floor levels throughout the home. A step down into the living room, a step up into the dining/kitchen area, and another step down into the sun room; all at different heights. Those, along with the steep stairs to the basement, could be challenging for anyone with mobility issues. The mountain and prairie views were great, as were the dark night stars. Our host, Jeff, was easy to access by Vrbo messaging, and check-in/out was simple and straightforward.

Great Home

We stayed here for a family ski trip. Great location, beautiful views, comfy beds. We hope to come back! Love, love Arroyo Seco.

Cozy home close to Taos Ski Valley

I spent a wonderful week at this property with a group of friends. The house was very comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the kitchen is fully equipped to prepare group meals. The owner was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay.

Great location for multiple activities

The property was perfectly located for visits to the town of Taos, Taos Ski Valley and the Rio Grande River for rafting. The back deck had a beautiful sunset view and sitting by the chiminea was a great end to the evenings. The host was very accommodating and communicated easily.

Arroyo Secco

This is a very well appointed adobe with great views! A true home away from home. We appreciated all of the considerate amenities. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking in, but it's also close to restaurants, as well as hiking and all of the New Mexico destinations.

Relaxing Getaway

Spacious rooms and gathering spaces in this comfortable, family home. The views from the sunroom are stunning and a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or evening drink. Our entire family and pets fit comfortably. Located with easy access to Arroyo Secco, Taos and the ski valley. The owner is easy to contact with clear check-in instructions and very responsive to any issues. Our family had a delightful time relaxing and enjoying Taos.

Another Great VRBO Stay

Jeff the property owner was very informative about the property and what needed to be done while we stayed. The home was beautiful and well taken care of. It met all of our needs and expectations. The locations was just minutes outside of the town of Taos and located perfectly for our bike rides. The place is well stocked with anything you need while on vacation. I highly recommend this location for anyone wanting to be in or near the Taos NM area. Thank you for allowing us in your home!

Family Gathering

Seven of us gathered for 2.5 days and the house was great! The views are pretty and we especially enjoyed the sunroom. The rooms are bigger than I expected. It is out in the country but there are a few neighbors. My teenage nieces stayed in the downstairs rec room on the trundle beds there - be aware the steps to that room are very steep.

Excellent House, Excellent Location

The house was exactly as advertised. Plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 children. The house was well stocked with supplies, it was clean, well decorated, and located right between Taos City and Taos Ski Valley. We easily took a trip around the Enchanted Circle which was very cool, especially Red River. Sunsets from the back porch were awesome. The host was extraordinarily responsive - I messaged him many times during the course of the reservation and again later when we needed to adjust the details of our visit. The check-in, check-out process was simple and worked well. I would definitely stay here again.

Cute home

The property is nice we had a 3-year-old and a family member in a wheelchair and she could never go into the living room because it's sunken and didn't know that by the pictures and one of the bedrooms is downstairs didn't know that nobody used it the stairs were just scary but it was a very cute house just wish we didn't know it about the ups and downs the owner was great the pine tree in front of the house was beautiful that's where we took most of our pictures

Good location, good host

This is a great location. Half way between Taos Ski Valley and Taos proper. There were little issues like the shower knobs and leaking on the floor. But overall it was a pretty good place.. However, Taos had just had a lot of snow the week before and apparently the roof wasn’t ready for all the snow. We had leaks all over the house; bedroom, living room, kitchen and sunroom. I think the house needs some work and then it will be a great place to stay.

Thank you for staying at our home, Ginger. I’m glad you enjoyed the home and the location. I am sorry for the leaking. For any potential guest looking to book our place, the entire roof will be replaced in April of this year (2022). Thus, you will be staying under a new roof.
