Private location, plenty of amenities

Location is convenient and private, while still being close to skiing and town center. The host was very attentive and easy to communicate with, and even gave us some great recommendations on things to do/places to eat. Would stay there again for sure.

Amazing Property a Short Drive from Everything!

The house is beautiful with western atmosphere throughout. Plenty of sleeping arrangements and comfortable amenities. Rob was an excellent host with a plethora of 5 star recommendations. We would be ecstatic to receive another opportunity to be guests in Lightfoot!

Beautiful view, super clean home!

My husband and I stayed here for our trip to Yellowstone. We have nothing but positive feedback on the house. Super clean house, nicely stocked, spacious with wonderful views. The owner is a great host and a quick communicator. My family rents 3-4 VRBO a year and this was one of our best experiences.

Great Montana Vacation

This property is newly redone and everything looks fantastic. The views are amazing and the location is just perfect for quick trips into the town center and a short drive to Yellowstone and Bozeman. The host was very kind and accommodating and always available in case we had questions or needed a recommendation for dinner. We have already sent this listing to several friends who have considered vacationing in Montana. We would definitely book again. Five stars all day long!

Fantastic Gallatin Getaway!!

The property was recently renovated in 2021 and the owners did a fantastic job. Everything you’d want in a rental and well appointed. Quick access to both big sky town center and skiing and located right on Gallatin river if fly fishing is what you seek. Owners were very helpful and provided great suggestions on places to eat and rent gear. Be sure to watch the video on starting the wood burning stove. It’s not hard but there is a trick to getting it right. You may also see the property is located next to the road leading from Bozeman to Big Sky. We didn’t find this to be an issue as the owner put in windows that helped decrease the noise. We’ll definitely be back!!

Bryan was an excellent guest and treated our home with respect. It was by far the smoothest and cleanest guest stay we have had to date. Great communication and an overall pleasure to host. The thing that really stands out is that the place was so well maintained that our cleaners asked if the guests had already cleaned the entire house before departure. We really appreciate how well they treated our home. Bryan is welcome back anytime! Thank you again.

Snow Amazing!

Our family was on a winter vacation from Miami, Florida… Clearly, there were many things to consider but Rob was an excellent host who was very communicative and resourceful throughout the whole process. His recommendations for restaurants and activities were extensive and helpful. By the time we arrived to Montana, it felt like we were visiting friends. While this beautiful modern industrial ranch home sits just off the main road, it offers privacy, convenience, spectacular views and plenty of indoor and outdoor space for adults to relax and kids to play and make memories. The wood-burning stoves helped keep us and the entire house warm. The home was also well-stocked with all things to make our stay comfortable and effortless and amenities one would find in a lux resort… custom Lightfoot Mountain Yeti mugs, Nespresso machine with Starbucks capsules, great cleaning supplies to help maintain house clean and organized including washer and dryer with organic detergent and fabric softener sheets, comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms with lots of hooks to hang up towels and wet ski pants… Our experience was snow amazing and we hope to make it back to Lightfoot soon!

Amazing Property and Gallatin View

We enjoyed our 2-week stay in Lightfoot in Big Sky! Rob's communication was great. We were invited to check in a bit early, which was helpful since we had been on the road for two days. The property was EXACTLY as advertised. The beds were comfy and had plenty of space to store your suitcases and gear. The living areas were spotless, and the views were incredible! We enjoyed the updated bathrooms - as nice as any I have had in a VRBO property in 15 years of bookings. There were plenty of towels, and having a washer and dryer was a huge help. Even though it was mid- to late-June, the temps overnight made mornings and evenings in the hot tub very enjoyable. The deck furniture made the deck a lovely spot to hang out in.The well-stocked bookshelves and local maps, and hiking/fishing info came in very handy. We hiked Porcupine Creek, Ousel Falls, Lava Lake, and more! We added a puzzle to the collection in the house.Another reviewer mentioned road noise, and yes - there is noise from the traffic going up to Big Sky. However, inside the property, we had no issue with road noise at all!! We recommend Gallatin River Guides, Montana Whitewater, Michaelangelos, Blackbird Kitchen and Cafe Fresco (in Bozeman), and Milkie's Pizza. This was the perfect spot to reconnect with family in Big Sky!Thanks, Rob, for sharing your lovely property!

Big Sky Heaven

Wow, what an amazing place to stay! Rob was an excellent host and goes above and beyond to provide extra touches such as providing nespresso pods, toilet paper, basic seasonings etc. I am a planner and he was more than willing to answer all my random questions. The cabin was clean, cozy, and just simply perfect. The location was perfect for snowmobiling, local shopping, and skiing Big Sky mountain. I was worried about being close to the road but the windows sealed off any outside noise. It also looks like some trees were planted which will also make this place even more magical and private. Unrelated to the cabin review, thought I’d share some tips for future visitors. If you can grocery shop in Bozeman, do it. Roxy’s in Big Sky had everything we needed but I can’t say I’ve ever paid $10 for a small thing of strawberries or a loaf of bread. Also, if you plan to use the peloton, you may want to inquire with Rob to make sure you have the right clips; I failed to do that so unnecessarily packed spin shoes that were not compatible. I highly recommend Big Sky bakery for pizza. The entire group was a big fan and we all consider ourselves pizza snobs. For the drinkers reading this review, I couldn’t find a shaker, shot glass, or juicer (maybe it was there and I missed it) but the kitchen had almost everything else you could imagine. Last but not least, don’t forget it’s a cabin and noise carries so may want to bring ear plugs if a light sleeper. Don’t pass this place up, it’s worth it!

Big Sky week

My oldest son played an AJGA tournament at Big Sky Golf Course (about 5 min from the home) The home is perfect! Beds were super comfortable and the hot tub was great! We made it don to Yellowstone twice. The 45 min drive to the park is beautiful! We will be back if we find ourselves in the area! Communication was great with the owners and no issues or surprises!

Lightfoot House

We had a wonderful time at Lightfoot. Location was perfect for fishing and close enough to the town center that we could go anytime we wanted. Can’t wait to come back.

Great Location/Views/design

Our family (3 kids age 4/6/8) had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Robert's beautiful home. Pictures really don't do the property justice. The living room windows offer an amazing view of the surrounding Gallatin Nat'l forest that the photos cannot convey. Property was spotless on entry. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. The decor is fantastic and the furnishings are top notch. Best of all is the attentiveness Robert provides -- both by phone and with a range of maps, brochures, and other information in the home regarding local attractions.

FANTASTIC location and SUPER clean!

Fantastic find for our family! Great location, beautiful scenery, and the house was absolutely perfect. Rob was extremely quick to respond to questions and gave us some awesome suggestions of things to do in the area. Truly—-we loved our stay!

A Great Cabin--Excellent Owner Hospitality

Our family had a great time at this cabin. It is comfortable, fully equipped, and well laid out. Everything is very nice. The furnishings are high-end, the decor a 10 out of 10, and the cabin itself a gem. More so, Rob was extremely accommodating. He gave us so much great information before coming, reached out to guides on our behalf, checked on us upon arrival and during weather challenges. He extended such kind hospitality and really made it feel like you were staying at a friend's house. Two recommendations--1. add pictures that clearly show where the highway and the river are in proximity to the house. The pics don't really show that very well for guests. 2. move the thermostat to the staircase or away from the room with the fireplace as it can make the heater kick off whenever the bedroom or downstairs rooms might still need a little more heat. The place was superb. We'd stay there again and recommend anyone looking for an easy and accommodating experience, in a perfectly built cabin, with super convenient access to Big Sky and the mountain book today!
