Renovated Lakefront Home with Stunning View

This charming 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom retreat is the ideal spot for a weekend escape, a vacation, or holiday gatherings. Enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and mountains from the entire front of the home, including the kitchen, dining room, master bedroom, and bathrooms.

Conveniently located just 25 miles from downtown Asheville, this home offers both adventure and tranquility. Explore nearby attractions such as the Cataloochee Ski Area in Maggie Valley, kayak on Lake Junaluska, browse the local shops in Waynesville, or tour the magnificent Biltmore House in Asheville.

The lake features a scenic paved trail that loops for nearly 4 miles. Amenities include a large playground, tennis courts, mini golf, pickleball, sand volleyball, a basketball court, shuffleboard, a fitness center, and a library. You can also rent canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards; we’ve recently added kayaks to our collection for your enjoyment. Plus, a beautiful golf course is right across from the lake, with several more courses nearby. For outdoor fun, enjoy our collection of yard games on the spacious, flat front lawn.

This home has a special place in our hearts. Originally built by Zac’s grandparents in 1960, we’ve recently renovated it to preserve its unique character while adding modern comforts. We look forward to creating new memories and traditions here, ourselves, and are thrilled to share this special place with you.

Ski Trip

We enjoyed staying at this beautiful home overlooking Lake Junaluska. We were near Cataloochee Ski Resort where we skied. We also were near Asheville and Waynesville. We enjoyed walking around the lake and spending time at the beautiful home. We would stay here again.

The house is beautiful. Very comfortable and clean. We were there for my grandaughters wedding and it was magical! I love the house and would definitely recommend it.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home at Lake Junaluska. Lovely lake views from the home. Very nice interior. Convenient to walking trail around lake. An easy drive to downtown Waynesville. Very nice place for our vacation.

Great stay

We had wonderful stay at Zac and Kathleen's home. Anything you need is there, and it's well organized so you can find what you need. I loved the location because the driveway is flat and it's right there along the walking path. We would absolutely stay here again. Kathleen was communicative, proactive and helpful. Thanks for everything.

Can’t beat the view!!

Wonderful home with an incredible view! Very relaxing location, loved proximity to other attractions and loved Lake Junaluska. Great place to have a quiet walk while enjoying fantastic scenery. Hosts were very responsive to all questions.

Home away

I love the area, but now I can include our home away from home ! The home was very clean, roomy, & homey. The location had easy access to the walking trail, to restaurants , and was as peaceful & quiet that I had hoped for. Thank you again to Kathleen Carswell for a wonderful weekend!

Weekend at Lake Junaluska

This is our 2nd year staying at this Lake Junaluska property. We are a family of 5 with 3 young adult children. We enjoy walking around the lake on level well maintained paths, sidewalks and bridges. This is a scenic, safe and friendly community. The renovated house has a beautiful front view and is close to Waynesville. Our host kept in touch and was quick to give a personal response to an email or text.

Tranquil retreat

Beautifully renovated mid-century modern home on Lake Junaluska. A short trip down I-40 gets you Asheville. We will return.

Short but wonderful stay

This pet friendly house was the perfect stay for our trip to the Polar Express in Bryson City. The house was lovely and gorgeously updated. We had great views of Lake Junaluska and enjoyed several walks on the paths in the community. The property is very convenient to downtown Waynesville and activities in Maggie Valley. Communication with the host was great and she took the extra steps to make the stay and experience great. We are already looking forward to a return visit in the summer.

Weekend at Lake Junaluska

This renovated 1960 lakefront home with the open floor plan and gas fireplace is perfect for a family (5) to use. The view from the front of the house of the mountains and lake is wonderful! We enjoyed walking on sections of the paved trail around the lake ... so much to see in such a beautiful setting. It was an easy drive to Waynesville for the Apple Festival.

Week of Rest

We had the most wonderful stay. The weather was beautiful which allowed us to enjoy walks around the lake. The house was wonderful and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. We cooked in several nights and enjoyed the lake view from the dining room. We had a birthday celebration and also had a friend join us for part of the week. It was a restful time, which we definitely needed. We will certainly be returning!!

Wonderful stay!

Just got home and we're already missing it! Nicely updated mid-century home on the best lot at Lake Junaluska! I wish we could have stayed longer. It was such a relaxing trip. You cannot beat the lake and mountain views, nor the promixity to the walking trail. This is a very special spot. We also greatly appreciated all of the helpful communication from the owners and how they stocked the home with everything you need. We hope to return one day!!

Nature Retreat with Stunning Views of Mountains and Lake

Nature is everywhere you look, and the people are very friendly. There is so much to do around the Lake and the surrounding areas. Home is very clean, comfortable and well stocked with supplies and amenities. The Owners are very responsive and helpful. There was a welcome gift bag with local items that was very nice. We also enjoyed going to the nearby sites (Like the Great Smokey Mountain Train Ride in Bryson City) and local restaurants in Waynesville. Lake J and the surrounding areas are a must see and hope to visit again!
