The Salty Dog is a wonderful vacation home and was exactly as advertised. The few minor issues we brought to the owner’s attention were promptly addressed and did not negatively impact our stay in any way. The home was clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. The sunrise views were absolutely unbeatable, and the easy beach access was a great bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend The Salty Dog to others!

Lovely home, beautiful setting and sunrise views over the Gulf. Easy to check in. Had the beach pretty much to ourselves.

Home was as advertised. Right on the beach. Very clean. Wish area below house had been mowed. Underneath the house the lighting did not work. Had a great time with our adult children and toddler grandchild. Beach area was pretty private. Would rent this property again.

The rental had everything we needed for an amazing stay. Kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans and utensils. Plenty of towels for beach use and showering. I definitely recommend staying at the Salty Dog!

The house really had everything you need for living, cooking, cleaning, and beach fun. We stay at a lot of west end beach houses and this is easily one of the most well-equipped I e ever seen. Good layout, great location, and well worth the money. Would absolutely stay here again.

House was as described. Communication was excellent. A/C unit was the best we have experienced during a beach vacation in Galveston. Host provided laundry soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, toilet paper (not just a half roll when you arrive) and trash bags. We usually have to bring those items or buy them when we get there. Parking was a bit tricky but we made it work. There is still some work that needs to be done underneath the house but that would not keep me from renting again. Rooms were adequate for our needs and the beach is right out the front door.

The Salty Dog was exactly as advertised. It was clean, well appointed, and right on the beach. We had a question about check in but had no issue getting in touch with James and getting the information needed. All communication was great. They provided enough paper products and plenty of towels for the house along with kitchen equipment. It was a fantastic stay and we will definitely be back!

The view to the beqch qaa fantastic. We enjoyed our weekend get away. Thank you for our early check in. The home qaa pecfect for our little family gathering. Running after the sand crabs at night waa a blast. Thank you tonour host for being available by phone and text.

This property was everything it said it was. It was clean, well cared for and a great fit for our family. The location was also perfect, on the beach, far enough away from the crowds but close enough to downtown if you want more to do.Our host James was great. Answered all of our questions, very responsive when we had a need and was great to work with. We will definitely consider the Salty Dog for next years trip.

This is a nice property and beachfront location. Pricey considering the small uncovered deck up top and the lack of any kind of deck or concrete foundation below. Definitely lacking if it rains at all as there is no way to sit on the deck due to lack of any cover to speak of. Flooring issues in multiple spots. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay very much.

The laundry was convinient, but the dryer didnt dry very effectively unless you pick the strongest setting. Communication with the host was effective and he walked me through fixing a tripped breaker after a stormy night. Some of the floors are damaged but other than that the stay was quite pleasant.

Fun beach getaway

Great place for a family reunion. The house was clean and well-stocked. There was a grocery store just down the road with everything we needed. Highly recommend this property.

Great vacation home!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen had good supplies, and communication with the owner was great. Right on the front row at the beach so great view from the front deck! Would definitely stay here again with our family.
