Enjoy the sounds of nature & wooded walking trails, Camp fires with wood provided. 20 minutes from Granite peak ski resort! 20 minutes from Wausau, Stevens Point and Marshfield. Just off snowmobile trail. Fresh eggs and produce available when in season. House comes fully furnished. 15 minutes from CWA airport. Hunting could be available. Doggy care near by!

Scenic home town stay

As a Knowlton native it was great to find a place close to home that was large enough to spend time with immediate family for the first time in years.

Hidden gem!

Great small town with lots to do for outdoor lovers. Ken and Sue’s property was quiet, private and allowed us to connect with nature and enjoy each others company to the fullest!

Quiet, Peaceful Getaway

Beautiful property with a comfortable home atmosphere on a wooded lot. The Hosts were very accommodating and genuinely concerned that we had what we needed for an enjoyable stay. This was a truly wonderful experience, and we all (6 adults, 2 children) want to book this again!!

Great Family Getaway

We met up with family here to attend a wedding. It was a very comfortable home to spend time with our kids and grand puppy. It fit our needs perfectly! We loved being able to have a bonfire and enjoy s'mores each night.

Great location and fabulous host!

My famiky had plenty of room...inside and out to cook, play games, and relax! Our fabulous host came to check on us and had us relocate our vehicles prior to a coming hailstorm, and started our campfire the next night! Superior stay and hosts!

House was very nice and roomy. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Visiting during Iola Car Show. Plenty of room for the 3 classic cars we brought. Campfires about every night. Kitchen was well stocked.

Family Getaway

Perfect place to stay if you’re looking to be close to Granite Peak Ski Hill. VERY CLEAN and the kitchen was well stocked for our food prep. My nephew enjoyed the all the kids toys and books. Very considerate host that went above and beyond our expectations.

Peaceful & Relaxing

Ken & Sue provided a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing property for us. We have stayed here before and really enjoy the location. They made certain that we were settled in and that if we needed anything at all, to contact them. We did not require anything at all as everything we possibly would need was already taken care of by our great hosts!! Thank you again Ken & Sue and we hope to stay with you in the future.

Very nice place to stay

We had a nice family reunion with our 2 daughters, husbands, and 2 young grandsons. Very spacious house and property. Plenty of room for everyone. Ken checked in on us a couple of times that first day to make sure everything was good. He was very responsive and friendly. We had a great time and would do it again if it worked out.

Great property, location, and hosts

Just a few minutes outside of Wausau, the house sits on a large, peaceful plot of land far enough away from everything, but not too far. The quiet spot was great for a fire outside at night and even had a strand of solar lights surrounding the fire pit which was a nice touch. The house had everything you could want and was in great condition. Again the s'mores package from the host was incredibly thoughtful, but they even had spices for cooking (which would be nice if others started doing as well)! It's a cozy place to stay and the hosts were excellent at communicating. Hopefully we'll be back again - thanks for a wonderful weekend!

Lovely setting, close enough to Granite Peak and Wausau restaurants

My fiancé, son and I stayed here for a Granite Peak ski trip. The place was plenty big enough with the extra bedrooms separated enough from the primary bedroom for a good degree of privacy for everyone. The house is in a beautiful, secluded setting with some lovely features (fireplace, large windows in living rooms with great views of the first). And at 25 minutes from Granite Peak and Wausau restaurants, it was convenient enough. We’ve stayed at places closer to Granite Peak before but none as nice as this one. We’ll seriously consider staying here again

Great summer getaway

We enjoyed our time at Kenneth's place. It was spacious and clean, with a great couch for watching movies on the huge mounted tv. Kitchen supplies were sufficient, and we cooked two larger meals during our time. The yard was large, and although we didn't use the fire pit, we enjoyed the adirondack chairs for reading in the morning. We even saw some deer and a flock of wild turkeys. Pretty much equidistant from Wausau and Stevens Point if you're looking for a day trip. Communication was easy, and Kenneth was helpful in resolving an issue we had with the VRBO site during booking. We'd definitely consider staying here again during our next family road trip!

College graduation weekend!

Ken and Sue offer up a lovely stay on a quiet road in the country-ish :) deer, turkey and a variety of birds with plenty of space to wander. Our dog loved the visit with plenty of room to run. The house was spotless with plenty of basics in the kitchen. Large space for relaxing with the family. Sadly, our schedule didn’t allow for a bonfire, maybe next time! Thanks again.

Quiet and comfortable

The home was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied, the internet consistent, the linens, bedding and towels and even the toilet paper were quality. Unfortunately, it rained so we were unable to enjoy the firepit. Ken was very responsive to my calls and texts. ( We never did meet him.) We did take walks through the woods and the wild turkeys came through the property every afternoon.

We have a small hobby farm with chickens, ducks, and lots of garden spaces including a greenhouse. We are working towards self reliance future. Nature packed with songs birds, wildlife make this a dream come true. Come and enjoy the relaxation! We look forward in hosting you and your family!

The property is 165 acres, We have two homes on the property, not visible from each other. The hosts live in one of them the other is the VRBO, short walking distance away should there be a need for help. Very Secluded, on a clear night the stars are amazingly bright for star gazing. Marked walking trails, fire pit with wood supplied. Nearby boat launches, park with kids playground and baseball field. Beaches nearby on the Wisconsin River. Property is Centrally located between Wausau, Stevens Point and Marshfield. CWA airport is 15 minute drive as well as Indianhead golf course. Rib Mountain/Granite Peak ski slope is 30-minutes away. Lots of local restaurants/bars. Local Winery and brewery. Close access to walking, biking and snowmobile trails Portage and Marathon systems.
