Mountain Top View Spacious Family Cottage Walking Distance from Appalachian Trl
Enjoy beautiful views of the entire Shenandoah valley while relaxing at the Mountain Top Family Cottage. Only a 10 minute 1/2 mile walk to the Appalachian Trail, where you can hike to historic Harpers Ferry. The cottage features a large living, dining and kitchen area. A large wood stove is available as an optional cozy heat source. The cottage has central heating and air conditioning, as well. The master bedroom and the mountain view study provide beautiful Shenandoah valley views. Drive to the many historic and recreation areas near Harpers Ferry WV.
During snowy or icy weather, a four-wheel drive vehicle is necessary to access the cottage.
The dining area seats six plus. There is a drinking water filter on the kitchen faucet. A large wood stove is available as an optional cozy heat source. Wood to use in the wood stove is provided at no extra charge.
Living room: Large sofa with two reclining chairs built in. 65 inch HiSense Roku TV. Separate recliner and chairs for reading. Wood stove for cold weather use.
Master bedroom room 1: One euro style queen bed (has an extra layer on top) and one firm twin bed in the main bedroom, with a sliding glass door with a beautiful mountain view.
Ceiling fan.
Master bedroom room 2: One firm twin bed. The room has a separator curtain. Large walk in closet with plenty of hanging space and shelves.
Bedroom two. One firm full bed and two firm twin beds. Ceiling fan.
Kitchen: Large kitchen with traditional oven and range, toaster, basket coffee maker, electric kettle microwave and blender.
Dining room:
Large dining table with six chairs.
Bathroom: Tub and shower with energy and water saving shower head. Hair dryer. Suction attachment type shower grab bar available.
Entry room/ office:
Small desk with a desk lamp. Glass sliding door with a beautiful mountain view. 42 Gps high seed internet.
Laundry room:
LG washer. Kenmore series 80 heavy duty electric dryer. Long hanging rod for clothes. Ironing board and iron.
Deck: Glass porch table and four porch chairs. Large umbrella for the center of the table.
Grounds/outdoors
Large unfenced yard. Picnic table that is shaded. Fire pit/circle with benches to seat seven people. Firewood is provided.
Some properties in the neighborhood are distressed.

Spacious rooms...large equipped kitchen...big master bedroom...large tv...large couch area...also has reading area and dining table for 6...a porch that wraps around half the building.. you can access it from the master bedroom....most of all beautiful view! Neighbors are quiet...the drive up is a mountain road so expect some potholes...great host!

The inside of the house was very nice and clean. The outside wasn't too bad, but probably could have been mowed and weed wacked. The location was perfect for our day trips and store runs. The big downfall is that the road leading to the house from the main road is terrible. Gravel road, which wasn't a problem, but the potholes were terrible. You pretty much have to drive 5 mph to avoid undercarriage damage.

We loved it here. It is tricky to get to but it was also fun. That's kind of a requirement if you want mountain views. The view certainly did not disappoint. We spent a lot of our time enjoying the view from the porch. The cottage was warm and inviting and so very clean. It's not very often I can just walk into a rental and settle in without doing some cleaning first. It was so appreciated. The cottage is well appointed and the bed was super comfy. There were wildflowers in a vase on the coffee table when we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed them and the gesture. Thank you for the hospitality!

All around great. Every thing you could want or need was there. Not just available, but clean, well maintained, and exactly where you would look. From a can opener to cable TV. The high light for our stay was sitting on the porch watching the sun set across the valley.

Host quickly and patiently answered my many questions. House was very clean with a beautiful view. Good central location to Harper's Ferry, Charles Town and Sweet Run State Park.

Great location with a wonderful view! Firepit with firewood, all the basics and toiletries. Great stay and would do again.

The road up to the place was as advertised, bumpy and steep in spots, but no problem with an AWD vehicle. The house felt comfortable, nice couch to lounge on. The kitchen was adequately stocked with items needed for cooking. The fireplace was nice to have to take the chill off at the end of the day. More psychological than anything else for a person who loves sitting by a fire. Close to Harpers Ferry which is what we wanted. The host met us with the keys and showed us around upon arrival.

The view from this house is unparalleled! I didn’t even want to leave the house to go to town because the view was so nice! The owner was so kind and responsive! I would absolutely stay here again!

A good time in the mountains

Beautiful views
The house was very cleaned & stocked with everything we needed. The view from the back deck was awesome & the sunsets were spectacular!! We enjoyed our stay!

This property has a beautiful view of the entire Shenandoah Valley. Originally, our daughter and son-in-law lived here. We are now excited to offer it as a vacation property and a great place to relax, enjoy the views and experience all that Harpers Ferry and vicinity has to offer.

You will enjoy a great mountain top view from the study, master bedroom and the deck. A large wood stove will give you extra warmth for those cool evenings. The large kitchen, living room and dining area are great for your family or small group gathering.
