Northern Knights Sky View Cottage is a NEW three-bedroom, two bathroom house in the heart of Dark Sky Country.

The house is located in a very isolated rural farming area 30 minutes from the Cherry Springs Dark Sky Park which boasts the darkest skies in the eastern USA. Don't want to drive? Just go outside and look up!

We are ATV-friendly with a huge driveway specifically designed to accommodate trailers. Miles of ATV-legal roads and trails are accessible from our driveway.

The house is just 7/10 of a mile from trail heads of the Susquehannock State Forest.

We had a wonderful stay here! The location was absolutely perfect for stargazing — we had an amazing time watching the night sky and were able to see so many stars right from the property.The house was clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. The kitchen and other amenities had pretty much everything we needed, which made cooking, relaxing, and spending time together really easy. We especially appreciated how thoughtfully everything was prepared for guests.It was a peaceful and memorable weekend, and we’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway or a great spot for stargazing. We would happily stay here again!

This was a wonderful place to get away with our family. Definitely bring all that you need bc it’s a distance from modern amenities we are used to like grocery stores. We went hiking on beautiful trails, saw hundreds of butterflies, and stumbled upon the BEST ice cream at Gods Country Creamery. The owner was quick to respond and the home was clean and SO quiet. The stars were beautiful even though it was half moon and some clouds but there was plenty of other bits of nature to make up for it.

The house is very neat, clean and well appointed. The skies were AMAZING! Communication with the owner was SUPER! When cooking take care to open windows and turn on exhaust fan BEFORE you start or the smoke alarm may go off.

Beautiful and comfortable with everything that you would need for a getaway! The house is impeccably clean & spacious, with a great layout and comfortable sleeping spaces. Despite the weather not being very cooperative for star gazing, we really enjoyed our time and will be back with family and friends!

Wonderful property, incredibly quiet, wide open inside & out and peaceful. Great location, off the beaten path yet only 15 minutes from town. Has pretty much everything you need. Much nicer and more comfortable than staying at a hotel. The pavilion with grill was a great outdoor feature. We had amazing clear skies almost every night we were there, & captured some breathtaking photos (one of my husband’s hobbies is astronomy/astrophotography) We’d normally go to Cherry Springs State Park in years past, but they’ve commercialized it into more of a tourist stop and we just prefer more privacy, which this property has! My daughter enjoyed walking in the backyard looking at all the wildflowers and spotting deer. My kids slept really peacefully here! (We have a 3 year old and 9 month old, so any quiet time is a plus lol) The washer/dryer was an added perk so the ability to do laundry before we went home was an added bonus!Only thing to mention is be mindful of cooking on the gas stove, the smoke alarm is very sensitive! Open the windows and turn the ceiling fan on before any cooking, we found that to be the trick to alleviate the sensitivity :) We will be back! 10/10 recommend! Thanks again!!

Atv riding

We went for the weekend to road our atv. This was a beautiful rental more than we needed. Place is gorgeous and we will most likely rent again. There was everything a family would need and more already there. The views are so beautiful.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

Not only are we in the heart of 'dark sky country,' we are only 7/10's of a mile from the trails of the Susquehannock State Forest. Hunting abounds. Our driveway leads to miles of ATV-legal roads and trails and other state recreational facilities are abundant. For summer swimming and winter sports, Lyman Lake at Lyman Run State Park is only minutes away. Denton Hill Sky area is very close by. Beautiful Pine Creek Gorge, the 'Grand Canyon' of Pennsylvania, is only 55 minutes east. The famous Kinzua Bridge State Park is 55 west. Austin Dam Memorial Park is just a few miles south of Coudersport. Don't forget the Lumber Museum on Rt. 6!

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The house is brand new, as are the beds and linens. We are in a very secluded rural location at 2500' elevation atop the Allegheny Plateau, the highest in Potter County. Our nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away. In the summer, you will be surrounded on all sides by farm crops such as corn and wheat.

The house has a "sunken" kitchen/dining area. There are three step up to the living room, bedrooms, and bathrooms.

Water: The water is drinkable. We have well water that is both filtered and disinfected by an ultraviolet light system.

Heating: We have a propane furnace as well as mini-splits, which also provide air conditioning.
