Come relax in our charming 1904, 2 bedroom apartment in Demorest. Across the street from Piedmont University and 1 mile from Northeast Georgia Medical Center Habersham. Centrally located for hiking and vineyard touring. Spend the day in the North GA mountains, and stay cozy at night. Wake to coffee of your choice & have a homemade muffin or some fresh eggs from my chickens. Or just walk for coffee at Farmhouse coffee on the corner, or dinner at Holden OverSoul (farm to table). You'll love being so close to waterfall hikes, wineries, Tallulah Gorge, Appalachian Trail, Piedmont University, Alpine Helen, zip-lining, geocaching, etc. Gas logs for backup heating in the winter!

This is one of two completely separate apartments in this house, so consider the 1 bedroom apartment if you're traveling with extended family and need a separate space at the same location. Perfect for visiting your Piedmont student with the grandparents along as well.

As a single business traveler, safety is always a concern. Inever worry about safety when staying at the Tomlin House. Plus, I can walk to breakfast, lunch, dinner and an eco-park, so what's not to love?!

Don't sleep on the Tomlin House! The house, the location and the host are all fantastic and we LOVED our stay. The place has such character and was pristinely clean. Carmen has thought of everything and the added touches were so appreciated! We had a breakfast casserole waiting to be put in the oven, farm fresh eggs, tons of coffee options to feed my addiction, fresh muffins and even a spare toothbrush when I realized I had forgotten to pack my own. There are at least two great restaurants literally across and down the street that you can easily walk to. Carmen was quick to respond with any questions or issues and was beyond kind and understanding when our pups decided to sample a taste of the window shutters!! We look forward to staying here again next time we're in town.

This was my second time staying at The Tomlin House and it was just as great as the first! The place is super comfortable, clean, and has everything you need. Great location, easy check-in, and a really thoughtful host. Definitely my go-to spot whenever I’m in Demorest.

The Tomlin House is just darling, warm and cozy. Everything was super clean and well stocked. Even supplied fresh eggs from her own chickens, fresh bagels and muffins. Gas firepit on the deck or a wood burning firepit outback. Thank you Carmen, we will definitely be back.

Great stay at The Tomlin House! Perfect location, super easy check-in, and the host was very accessible. The house had everything we needed—plenty of towels, a stocked coffee bar, and a spacious kitchen where I cooked and grilled for my son and his teammates. Comfortable bed, great layout, and we loved relaxing on the back patio. Felt just like home!

Beautiful place to stay for a short or long vacation. Great location and owner thinks of pretty much everything. Very thoughtful and accomodating. Would definitely stay again.

Great Stay

Everything was great from checking in to how clean/organized & prepared the home was superb. Location was quite and had a couple of cute shops a block away. Checking out was a breeze and would love to come back!

Quiet Cottage

Home was beautifully restored and decorated. Had everything needed for a home away from home and pet friendly. Many hiking areas and wineries within short driving distance. Other small towns close to Demorest with shopping and dining. Would stay again.

Best Trip Ever!

The house/apartment was nothing short of amazing! Carmen our host was so nice & accommodating! The location is wonderful...short drive to Helen...short drive to Dahlonega! We will definitely be back!

Found ourselves needing a place to stay during some home renovations so we decided to stay local for a few days. This place happened to show up first in our search at a decent price so we decided to give it a try and let me tell you, we ABSOLUTELY could not be more pleased. Check-in was easy. The cleanliness of the property was immaculate and every amenity needed was available (it even comes with fresh eggs and a breakfast casserole for your dining pleasure). The property was built circa 1904 and is faithfully restored and decorated true to the period. And the heart of pine wood floors are still gorgeous. Although we literally live less than 8 miles from the property, we will absolutely visit again because my wife says that her soaking bath in the clawfoot tub was worth the price of admission. Highly recommend this property if you are ever in the area.

Helen visit

Very convenient to Helen and all the sights of North Georgia. Our host was excellent providing breakfast with eggs, egg casserole, muffins, bagels and many flavored yogurts. Very comfortable and a beautiful historical house. Close to a lot of restaurants.

Beautiful Apartment

The apartment was clean, comfortable, and centrally located. They had everything we needed, and more. I love the decor and Carmen's added touches that made it feel homey. Everything was perfect. Thank you, Carmen!

I'm from North GA, meaning my family moved to the North Georgia mountains around 1780. I've lived in other states and countries and have returned here to raise my son. Now that he's grown, I'm sharing the small town and mountains that I love.

Demorest is a wonderful mid-point to hiking as well and vineyards. So you can hike into the mountains and immerse yourself. Or you can spend the afternoon at a local vineyard and just absorb the energy of the area. Demorest is a quiet respite to decompress and stroll for coffee in the morning, or just porch sit throughout the day.
