Gorgeous home, beautifully decorated situated in a very private cove on Lake Lure. The perfect way for our family to enjoy a last weekend before starting school. Definitely coming back.

It was a wonderful, spacious home in a quiet location. Steven and Sue were great, they got back to me very promptly for and questions and information I needed.My family and I enjoyed our 5 nights here over the New Year period.

Great Labor Day Escape

3 families had a blast…perfect location to get around town and to the Ingles(10 min away). Lake house restaurant is right around the corner….had a great time

Our family Christmas trip

We had a great time at Mallard cove. The home is not great for a family of 10, unless you sleep on sofa sleepers.

Phenomenal Property

I would 100% recommend this property to anyone considering a trip to Lake Lure. The check in process was easy and the property manager was so responsive and helped us to be prepared. The home itself is stunning and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. I would come back in a heartbeat and honestly had the best stay!!

So glad all had a fun time at Mallard Cove. This wonderful estate lake home does provide lots of room for larger gatherings and multi generational families. Unfortunately, the pontoon will no longer be offered in 2025, however, much to offer and still in great proximity to many area attractions. Perfect Week at the Lake

Mallard Cove exceeded or expectations. The home was in a private cove, conveniently located to Ingles and multiple lakeside dining options. Boathouse, dock and fire pit were a hit! —Kids enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks. The house was stocked with everything we needed to feel like home. The pontoon boat was spacious and clean. We will definitely be back next year!

Great week at Mallard Cove!

Our family stayed for a week at Mallard Cove. It was probably the nicest home that we have ever stayed in on Lake Lure. All of the beautiful pictures on the website could not begin to depict the beauty and detail in this great house. The house was well appropriated with all needs being met and many fine details to make the stay wonderful. Also, I have to give a shout out to Buffalo Junction Properties and Sue Gage. We had a few minor issues that were addressed immediately and efficiently by the property managers. They were helpful and easy to get a hold of. I would recommend the house at Mallard Cove and Buffalo Junction Properties with 7 stars if there was such a qualification.

Luxurious lake vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property had EVERYTHING we could have possibly wanted. We had a hard time leaving to even go exploring the beautiful surroundings. The kitchen is so well stocked with anything dish, cookware, and appliance you could think of! The house was so spacious that you could be by yourself or with the group and feel so comfortable. The teenagers want to go back next year!!! (So do the adults) the property managers were so friendly and helpful. We got email updates leading up to our stay that evening included recommendations of things to do in the area!

Lake Lure Safety Harbor gang trip.

We was able to get a taxi's to Asheville to do a brewery trip along with eating at Lobster Trap oh it’s a must place to hit. chimney Rock is a lovely little hidden germ. Lots of cool little places. The brewery this is a great stop.t The only downside was the very short notice that the natural hot tub pool was broken. That was the only thing I can say. They made it right by doing a small refund. We definitely missed it after our hike we took. We will continue to come back to this area.

We appreciate hearing you had a positive stay at Mallard Cove. We strive to provide the best experience and the in-ground hot tub pool was expected to be operational, however, unfortunately, the pool service found the problem to be more extensive than expected parts not immediately available. We proactively contacted you when informed, with the owners’ sincere apologies, offering a refund in advance of you asking for one, pro-rating based on the total cost/length of stay, then processing it promptly. There are circumstances that are sometimes beyond anyone's control, and this happened to be such a time. We did our best to make it right and that the other amenities, such as the pontoon for one, included with this home were enjoyed by all. The repairs are now completed and available for guest use.

Mallard Cove was a fantastic Lake Lure getaway for our family of four. The house sits in a private, quiet cove where we could barely see the neighbors. The large covered porch was one of our favorite features—we spent many mornings there and loved sitting outside when rain showers rolled through. Incredibly relaxing!The large private dock was perfect for fishing and swimming. We rented from Lake Lure Boat Rentals, who delivered and picked up the boat directly from our dock, which was extremely convenient.The house is very spacious. The main level has an open kitchen, dining and living area leading to the covered porch. Downstairs are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a media/game room with ping-pong/pool table, and direct access to the hot tub. Upstairs is a large private master suite with a huge bathroom and walk-in closet. The separation between floors worked great for our family.Making s'mores at the outdoor fireplace while stargazing was another highlight.The only consideration is the number of stairs, both inside and down to the water. This is common at Lake Lure and wasn't an issue for us, but could be challenging for some guests.We would absolutely stay at Mallard Cove again!

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home! The views were absolutely breathtaking of Lake Lure and the Blue Ridge Mountains, the scenic hot tub was the perfect place to relax while taking in the beautiful surroundings. The house was incredibly spacious and comfortably accommodated all 8 of us without ever feeling crowded. It was also conveniently located close to shopping, making it easy to pick up anything we needed and enjoy the local area. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable getaway with stunning views!

We had a great trip. Will definitely be returning! The home was beautiful and you can't beat the lake view. Our family enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboards and hanging out on the lake. The home was exactly as described and was plenty of room for our big family. We loved the pool table and ping pong table. The inground hot tub was perfect at night! We can't wait to come back!
