Walking Distance to Lake and Heavenly!

Hello Hanna, we are sincerely sorry for the issue that effected both you and the owner regarding VRBO’s taxes/fee billing. As you are aware there was an outage with VRBO during the time of your booking with them and the information you were provided at the time from the owner regarding taxes/fees originally being charged came directly from VRBO. During the VRBO outage the owner could not see the breakdown of that information, so she had to contact VRBO to confirm with them when you had made you initial inquiry. The request you got for the taxed to be paid may show it was from the owner, but in fact it was initiated by VRBO when they realized the taxes/fees had not been charged or paid. it was just as much of a shock to the owner as it seems it was for you as well, however taking your frustration’s with VRBO out on the owner or the property by giving a negative review is not professional. With regards to the description of the property being with in walking distance of Heavenly or lake access at Ski Run Marina & Beach, it does state they are both a 15 to 20 min walk but that is normal acceptable distance for walking. Sorry that you felt this walk was too far for you, but we have never had any other quest complain about the walk. This property is a hosted rental as is required by law in South Lake Tahoe for any vacation rentals not within the Hwy 50 corridor. This information is listed in several areas on the property link including the main description page. The owner has a separate studio with its own entrance that does not affect the main rental, and the only shared space is the driveway and the laundry area. Regarding your statement that the owner just walked into the kitchen when you arrived is a false statement. The owner takes great pride in respecting any guest(s) privacy who stay at the property and is only there to greet guest(s) upon arrival and provide any assistance if needed or requested. After looking back at the common area security cameras for the property, the camera facing the back door off the common area where the kitchen can be accessed only shows owner only going over to introduce herself to you and your family and she never enters the rental at that time or at any time during your stay.
