Welcome to Fall season at Casa Bella...
Enjoy the quiet time of year in Twain Harte, free from the summer crowds, with sunny afternoons and cool evenings.
During the day, enjoy sunning on the deck, golf at our local golf course, a hike, or just perfect the Art of Doing Nothing.
In the evening, stroll downtown for a leisurely meal, you are within walking distance of all of Twain Harte's restaurants. Or...
Have a barbecue on the deck or cook dinner in our well equipped kitchen. The granite counter was made for happy hours.

Later on, have a glass of wine by the fire, read a book, play a board game, or pop some popcorn then curl up and watch a movie.

Casa Bella has many charms, original art work, leaded glass windows, rustic fir floors, and a French armoire. Recent renovations have given this stylish mountain retreat a fresh look. The great room features a convenient gas fireplace, large, comfy leather chairs and a big couch for reading, lazing, or watching TV. There is also a futon which opens into a full bed. The bedrooms each have a queen bed with down comforters. The first bedroom has a peaked pine ceiling, antique, leaded glass windows, and a French armoire. The second bedroom has a full bookshelf and a connected half bath.

In winter, Dodge Ridge is 20 miles up the highway, where you can spend the days skiing and snowboarding, or go to Leland High Sierra Snowplay in Strawberry, for sledding and tubing.

Make a day trip (just over 2 hours) to visit world famous Half Dome, one of many splendors in Yosemite National Park.
Also, visit the many nearby wineries, bistros, art galleries, and boutiques. Sonora is 15 minutes away, Murphys is 45.
After your travels you will look forward to returning to the pine forests of Twain Harte and the quiet comfort of Casa Bella.

Twain Harte, a small resort town in California's Gold Country, is in the High Sierra, elevation 3700 ft, one half hour from Dodge Ridge Ski and Snowboard Resort.
Under the Twain Harte arch you will find a charming downtown.
Twain Harte also offers golf, tennis, a private lake, miniature golf, and a skateboard park. (Twain Harte is located 16 miles east of the historic gold mining town of Columbia, and 12 miles east of the town of Sonora.)

We loved our 4 night stay @ Casa Bella. We found the cabin well appointed, tastefully decorated and comfortable. The host was great as well. The experience made our trip to Twain Harte all the more special.

Perfect location to town

Adorable cabin. Perfect location to walk into town. We enjoyed the lake, mini golf, The Rick and Shave Ice. It was perfect for our family. We will be back.

Awesome family getaway

The cabin was perfect for our little family, it had all the amenities and tons of books, games and movies for everyone. The setting is the best part, Twain Harte is a beautiful community, the kids can't wait to return!!

Location, location, location

This cabin does not have the newest appliances, but that is not what we were looking for! Our family of young kids had great restaurants, mini golf, parks, stores and coffee shops within walking distance from the front door. Plus easy access to the surrounding areas of great lakes, hiking and fishing sloughs. Add on the great Twain Harte lake experience and this is the perfect mountain cabin! Perfect trip for our family!

Gracious Hospitality

We enjoyed out stay at Natalie's cabin. Of all the cabins we have stayed at over the years, Natalie was by far the most thoughtful host we've had. The kitchen is well stocked, there are games, books, lake chairs, and more - all designed to make your stay truly enjoyable.

Beautiful and clean cabin!

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Bella cabin in July. It was great for our small family, with a 3 year old and newborn baby. It had all the amenities we need to cook breakfasts & dinners, and a lovely porch to eat outside. We spent two mornings at Twain Harte lake, and also drove up to Pinecrest lake. We would love to stay again sometime!

Cozy Cabin in Twain Harte

We instantly fell in love with Casa Bella. It was warm and cozy when we came back from a day in the snow, super close to local restaurants, and perfect for our family of 4. Our kids loved the games, and we loved all of the homey touches. Natalie thought of everything and we will definitely be back. Location - easy to get to Leland Snow Park, Pinecrest Lake, and Dodge Ridge.

Wonderful vacation.

We (two adults and two teenagers) stayed at Casa Bella for Christmas this year (2012), and our entire stay was wonderful from beginning to end. The cabin (it's more like a home) is beautiful, with wonderful touches everywhere. The bedrooms are large and the feel is light and open. We loved the fireplace and it snowed while we were there. I would love to stay in the summer as well. Could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

PERFECT little get away!!!

We loved Casa Bella. A perfect mixture of rustic & up to date. Beautifully decorated with gorgeous high ceilings and light fixtures in the shape of stars. The cabin was warm and clean upon our arrival. We immediately felt at home. Great choice of movies, books, and board games to keep the family busy during the cold winder nights. Loved waking up to a group of deer in the yard! Natalie has done an amazing job & we will definitely be back soon!

Cabin the the Woods

Though this cabin is in the woods, I find it amazing that you can walk just 5 minutes down the road and find such a variety of good restaurants and interesting stores to shop in. We ate at The Prospector and it is like walking into a restaurant in small village in Switzerland. The chef/owner does the cooking and pairing of the wines. It is very casual too. We will definitely be back as the cabin has it all..such a nice feeling when you walk in with the cozy and artful decorating and nice welcome basket with wine.

Nice rustic cabin, could use a thorough cleaning and fix-up in a few areas

We enjoyed our stay at Case Bella, I'd rate it 3.5 stars I was able to do halves! the good: - great location, can walk to town - very peaceful area - vintage kitchen suprisingly functional - VHS tapes! the not so good: - cabin was reasonably clean, but there were candy wrappers & dust bunnies under the chairs on the rug - no window covers in the back bedroom, beds not very comfortable - stocked items in the kitchen (salts etc) were empty / had bugs - we caught a great snow weekend (over a foot across 2 nights) but there was nothing to shovel or move the snow off the steps for safety

Exactly what we wanted for a quick getaway.

Natalie has the perfect setup with Casa Bella. The cabin has a nice layout and it's been kept up-to-date and clean. All of the furniture, linens, etc. are in good taste and high quality. The place was warm and welcoming when we arrived. It was a perfect place to stay for our little family when we wanted a place for a short stay while skiing at Dodge Ridge. We walked to dinner at The Rock and drove to a sledding hill...in addition to skiing at Dodge Ridge. You never know what you are going to get into when you rent something for the first time. In this case, what we got was far better than expected. My kids are begging to return already.

Wonderful Retreat

My husband, 16 month old and I spent three wonderful days and nights at Casa Bella. The decor is beautiful. We appreciated its proximity to downtown Twain Harte and the local market/pharmacy. It was easy to walk everywhere with our stoller and there was a park nearby that our daughter loved. We also took advantage of the lake priviledges - a highlight of our stay! The layout of Casa Bella allowed us to keep an eye on our daughter in the living room while we cooked in the nicely-remodled kitchen, which was equipped with much nicer cooking and dining wares than most of the rentals I've experienced. The deck at Casa Bella was by far my favorite spot. We made use of the gas BBQ, ate all our meals outdoors and spent many hours lounging and reading on the deck, which was enclosed safely enough for us to allow our daughter to play without needing to follow her around closely. Safety is a big concern when traveling with a toddler and Casa Bella needs very little baby-proofing. We had a wonderful time - thank you so much!

My husband and I are originally from the Bay Area.. We have lived in Sacramento for 30 years where I ran a home staging business for 25 years. I am retired and now spend my time wondering what comes next.

Casa Bella has been in my family for 59 years. In 1965 our family went to Twain Harte for a two week summer vacation. We rented a rustic little cabin. As soon as we arrived we fell in love with the town, the woodsy surroundings, and wonderful Twain Harte Lake. My mother immediately found a cabin to buy. We have enjoyed many wonderful times here over the years and hope you will, too.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

I like to take a project to work on while vacationing. I am always inspired in Twain Harte, and can find plenty of room to work, either on the deck or on the wide kitchen counter. When I need a break, I hike up the road, then down and around to a beautiful little lake.
I love the smell of Twain Harte. It comes from a plant called Mountain Misery. I can't tell you why it is so named, but it is a delightful smell and it tells me I'm home.
