Good spot for a home base in Winnetka

We stayed at this property for 5 days, making it a home base while visiting my brother, who lives about a mile away. The house is clean and the beds are comfy! The kitchen had everything we needed. We weren’t around that much but if we had been (and the weather were warmer), we would have loved to hang out in the backyard and use the pool - it looked great! Shawn was very responsive with any questions we had. Thank you for everything!

Family Gathering

This comfortable 4 bedroom house worked well for our group of 5 adults. Whatever glitches we encountered (blown fuse, not enough cutlery, puzzling heating system) were immediately resolved by the host Shawn. Most responsive host ever!

Not so great

I would not recommend this property to anyone. Due to the smell of cat urine in the house. As soon as you walked in that is all you smelt. The first two hours of our trip was spend with us looking for another place to stay. We looked for hotel rooms but we would have needed four. It was all of my children plus girlfriend and boyfriend. So economically it was not doable to leave the property. So we decided since we were only sleeping there basically we would just live with it for three nights. You open the garage door into a bedroom which was not ideal and the second bathroom shower if you were taller than 5ft 5 in would hit you in the chest. You needed to bend down to wash your hair. Also the shower floor was a wood pallet that they only secured two ends of it with no light. Doors to the back of the house should be more secured than they are. If someone wanted to get into the house all they had to do was push really hard on the door and it would open. Backyard had a fire pit but no wood left to use it and the lights outside by the outside table didn’t work. The lights were plugged into the socket but didn’t work. Since we spent our time outside due to the smell it would have been nice if they worked. The pool has seen better days. They do have a pool service but it looked dirty on the bottom of the pool.

Wonderful experience

We stayed 4 nights here. The home was everything the description said. We had a few hiccups as sometimes things happen. In this case the hot water heater went out. I messaged the host and within minutes he contacted us. Within hours it was replaced. We chose this home because it was the epicenter of everything we wanted to do on our trip. Couldn’t speak more highly of our host, our trip, and our Vrbo. The pool was amazing, and there was plenty of chairs and outdoor amenities for us all to enjoy. Fantastic home, wonderful host, and all the ingredients for a memorable stay.

Wonderful home!

There was plenty of room for our family of 6 and all amenities were provided. The beds were comfortable, the pool was refreshing and the kitchen had everything we needed for preparing our food. The owner/host was attentive and qickly responded when we had questions. We get together as a family once a year and we will be booking at this home again!

Casa Bonita

The house was great, plenty of room for 10 people to bbq play games that the owner had left for us and every room in the house. Pool was great no mosquitoes or anything weird you could tell the house inside and out was cared for. The garage with plenty of room for two SUV vehicles with easy access. The kitchen had everything that we needed to cook and eat it did feel like we were at home. Bottom line myself and the rest of the people enjoyed the stay at the Casa Bonita. That’s what we called it because it was I recommended to anyone it wasn’t a nice quiet neighborhood. I know we’ll be back to stay.

Awesome 5-night stay in Winnetka

We were in from Cleveland and Denver to visit family in Winnetka. Six of us stayed here, and we had plenty of space. The house was well maintained and exactly as advertised. The pool was clean and there were plenty of towels. Shawn and their team were gracious and responsive. We didn't really have any issues with the property at all - the floor was a bit creaky in places, and the Nest thermostat was a bit funky but we figured it out. The location is a couple blocks from Walgreens, awesome pizza (Thyme) and other shops and restaurants; and about an 8 minute drive from Costco, the Topanga Mall and US 101. We'll definitely stay here again the next time we are visiting the area.

Shawn’s Place is Great!

We had a few hard days on the road dealing with ice storms, so Shawn’s place in Cali was the perfect way to unwind. We made breakfast using the grill outside and spent the day lounging by the pool drinking mimosas. The house is well equipped for more than 5 people and would be a great place for a family to stay! The neighborhood is lush and quiet and near a lot of great stuff. Highly recommend!

Quiet neighborhood

The property was in a quiet neighborhood. Having an enclosed garage with remote control was nice. The house had everything you would need for cooking. Bathrooms had a lot of toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, soap and extra towels. The large bowl of keurig pods for the coffee maker was an added special touch. The pool in the yard was nice with seating areas and a fire pit. We never used the pool or the seating area (it was in the low 50's). If it was warmer we would spend all of our free time in the inviting back yard. Shawn made things easy. He checked on us frequency to ask if we needed anything (we didn't). We would stay here again.

Really Great Place

We very much enjoyed our stay at this location. Shawn was a terrific host, making sure we had what we needed and were comfortable. The check-in process was easy and efficient. The property is clean, spacious and well appointed. The backyard is a really nice place to relax and enjoy the California sunshine. Shopping is close by and the location is close to major LA freeways. We had a great stay!

Felt Like Home !

Well kept home on a quiet street. Grocery store within walking distance. Beautiful yard and pool, fire pit was well used ! Would recommend this home, but not in October...we will probably be renting it again ...LOL

Tons of space, all the amenities you want, no nonsense

Really loved this roomy spot, all the stuff you want in a great location. Shawn and his team were in constant contact for anything needed or advice. One of the things that can be annoying with rental properties are extraneous rules and procedures, but this had none of that, easy check in and check out, his team takes care of the rest. The pool is great but even better for my family was the gorgeous, spacious backyard with lovely pomegranate and lime trees. We had a wide range in ages in our group and everyone wanted to come back to the same spot soon!

Great house, great host but not so great location

We had a good stay despite a few issues. Shawn's team is super nice and super responsive and taking care of any requests very promptly. For us, the major issue was the location. The main purpose of our trip was to welcome our first grandson to the world and we literally spent more time stuck in traffic than seeing him. Every drive that was supposed to be 30 minutes with no traffic ended up being hour and a half in average. The 405 was a nightmare!! That is really NOT the host's fault but I would personally not call this location "central". But again, great host and great property! Really enjoyed the pool and how private the backyard is!

Family Vacation

The pictures online didnt really match with what we walked into. The host was great but we didnt really feel like the place matched. As soon as we walked in the place smelled like pee and everything was alot older than the pictures made it look. It met our needs for a place to stay. The neighborhood was ok and the location was good for shopping and food which was like a couple miles away. All in all it was just ok and i definitely wouldnt go back

Daughter’s Wedding Weekend

Very happy with our choice, especially since we were canceled but another host. I reached out to Shawn and he responded quickly. Being a holiday weekend, I was kinda worried. But.in the end, this became the better choice! Thank you so much! The only thing I would suggest is maybe an additional parking pass.
