We appreciate you sharing your experience and are glad the beach proximity was a highlight. As we discussed via email, a credit was issued for the internet interruption, the toaster oven has been replaced, and we want to clarify that the ice maker is not listed as an amenity for this property. Since your stay, the living room furniture has been professionally cleaned and the HVAC filters have been replaced and vents cleaned. Your remaining feedback has been shared with the homeowners. Lomas is one of our older properties and is priced to reflect that, but we always want our guests to have accurate expectations and a comfortable stay. Thank you for your loyalty to Edisto Beach over 40 years - that is a relationship with this island that we deeply respect, and we are glad we had something available to accommodate your group when your original booking fell through. We want to be clear that cancellations like the one you experienced are something Carolina One works very hard to avoid, and we are glad we could step in and get your family to Edisto for your already planned trip. We are sorry Lomas did not meet your expectations. It is one of our most affordable and longest-tenured properties, and its price point is a reflection of its age and character. That said, your feedback on the floors and hot water is taken seriously - we had not previously received concerns about the hot water supply and will be checking the water heater to make sure it is functioning properly. We will also be sharing your overall feedback with the homeowner as they consider future improvements. Regarding the water, Lomas does not advertise a filtration system, and those have actually become quite rare on Edisto Beach since the Town installed a beach-wide water treatment facility. That said, we are a beach town, and the water supply can run saltier than what guests may be used to in more metropolitan areas - something worth keeping in mind for future visits. We do always encourage guests to call us during their stay if anything needs attention. Floors, for example, are something we would have been happy to address had we known - everyone has different preferences and we want the chance to make it right in the moment. As for the spiders, they are very much a part of life in our beautiful subtropical climate! All properties in our program are on a regular quarterly pest control schedule with local Edisto vendors, but nature has a way of keeping us humble. We hope you will consider booking again in the future - we would love the opportunity to match you with a property that truly fits your expectations and shows you the Edisto experience you deserve after 40 years of coming back.
