Perfect mountain getaway close to town

The property and views were absolutely beautiful and the location was perfect! Very close to town, but far enough away from the crowds and traffic. The home was cozy and comfortable with plenty of room for our party of 6.

Amazing House atop da Mountains

This place is so amazing and perfect for a mountain getaway. We've stayed here twice and the place is wonderful every time! Great hosts too!

Julian Backcountry Getaway

This mountain top country farmhouse is as wonderful as it sounds. The house is bright and spacious with wonderful views of the countryside. It is surrounded by acres of nature to gaze upon and explore. It is conveniently located close to Julian, Wynola and William Heise County Park. Great vacation spot!

Comfortable home in the mountains

The home was very comfortable from the living area to the bedrooms. Large bathrooms with showers. The view from the Master Bedroom and patio was beautiful.

Exquisite Hill Top Retreat

Everyone in our family loved this property (we had a 3 and 5 year old, 19 year old, my husband and my mom in our group). It is very secluded and beautiful, and the home is spacious, perfect for families. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi, and the king bed was comfortable. Those sunset views from the property are very special. I wish we can make this an annual family vacation, i would definitely stay here again.

This house and property are wonderful! Everything described in the property description was exactly as represented. The home is well appointed, has everything I think any guest would want or need. The skylights and the large windows (especially in the master suite) are just gorgeous! I would love to spend a week there - and hopefully can do so!

Wedding Weekend

Perfect place for our group attending a wedding nearby. The property is quiet and secluded, but still close to town. Access via codes made check-in a breeze. The views are incredible and photos do not do it justice. The house was extremely comfortable and we all wished we could have stayed longer. It comfortably slept 6 adults and was well stocked with everything we needed; linens, towels, kitchen supplies, TP/paper goods, firewood, etc. The hot tub was a huge bonus, especially during the late season snow storm that rolled through one day. I highly recommend staying here for any trip to Julian.

Julian Visit

Nice place. Comfy beds. Peaceful surroundings and felt safe. Loved all the natural light in every room! My only suggestion would be the option of curtain/blinds in windows for places like the bathroom and bedroom so one can choose to close them for feeling of privacy especially at night. Other than that, the place was perfect and we’d love to come back. We may just have to have back up plan for covering at very least bathroom windows.

Great place-just bring eye covers if you are not an early riser!

We LOVED this place. Great everything, jacuzzi, beautiful kitchen. The only caveat is this-the master bedroom has wrap around windows and sky lights and by 6:00 a.m. it is BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT.!!!! I read the reviews and brought up an eye sleeping mask and it worked great. I also think the master would benefit if there was a T.V. In there. Otherwise-will stay again!!!! Outdoor jacuzzi was awesone!!!

Tranquil

Came with the family to experience our new telescope. The house has a clear view of the sky. When we were here in December we knew we would be back. I need a king size bed so this was ideal. Nothing lacking. Enjoyed the sounds of doves, donkey, cows, rooster, owl, rustling leaves., etc. TV offerings were useful for streaming. ALL GOOD HERE.

Quiet and Peaceful Location

My wife and I had another great stay at this beautiful property. If you are looking for a quiet, private location, this is the place! The home is spacious, with an open space living room, kitchen and dining room. There is a large primary suite and two additional bedrooms, plus a sunroom with a murphy bed. Primary suite bed is very comfortable, as is the living room furniture. Outside the home is a large amount of acreage, perfect for exploring. We were visited every day by a deer, who would hang around close proximity to the house. The property is very quiet and has tremendous views of the night sky. Being at altitude, if there are no clouds, it is a very beautiful sight. The quaint, mountain town of Julian is just minutes away. It is an easy town to explore, on foot. All-in-all, this is a great place to homebase for a visit to the mountain and desert area of San Diego County.

Wow!

It's difficult to summarize the beauty, comfort, and serene atmosphere this property provides. It has the perfect blend of modern conveniences with rustic charm. The property is extremely safe due to the extra precautions the owners and property provide. I've never slept better or experienced a better view. Wildlife, nature walks, proximity to Julian...the property has it all. The owners provided a hands-off experience but were always available for any needs. Definitely a one-of-a kind experience and HIGHLY recommended.

Beautiful views and plenty of space.

We started off the week with nice weather and ended it with snow. We were thrilled. The house had all the amenities that we needed and plenty of room for the four of us. We visited Mt. Palomar and around Lake Cayumaca. Psycho kitty did show up and we fed her but we couldn’t pet her. It’s a great comfortable house with alot of decorative pieces around. I had to move some things so they were out of harm’s way. We cooked most of our meals there but needed to clean the oven to cook one of Mom’s pies. Well worth it !!! Thanks for the experience and we would love to book the property again.

Mixed feelings

This is a difficult review to make. While the house itself was lovely and as advertised, there was a total lack of outside maintenance. A real mess on the deck outside the MB, broken pots and garden tools around on the ground, hot tub stairs in the middle of the gravel pad, weeds overgrown around the outside seating area with the view, stairs , railings and deck in need of repair and painting. I have pictures if anyone is interested.

Enjoy the amazing scenery In beautiful house

The location is absolutely amazing, views for miles in almost all directions and absolute silence except for some distant cows mooing. The house is great as well, lots of natural light and all the amenities you need for a break. We spent half our days working and the house is perfectly accommodating for both business and leisure. Only thing to be mindful of is that none of the bedrooms have window coverings. For light sleepers that means waking up at the crack of dawn and some challenges sleeping with full moon. Conversely it does make you feel more connected to nature and a completely new experience for us. The owners were very helpful and responsive when we had an electrical issue due to a rare thunderstorm storm. Would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful, quiet location

My wife and I had a fabulous, although short 3 day stay, at this wonderful home. The location is a 5-minute drive to downtown Julian. The setting is very private, almost a quarter mile from the road, and behind a security gate. The home is very spacious, with an open space living room, kitchen and dining room. There is a large primary suite and two additional bedrooms, plus a sunroom with a murphy bed. Primary suite bed is very comfortable. The outside property is spacious, with plenty of seating areas throughout the yard and comfortable seating on both the front porch and back deck. We were able to use a walker throughout the house, in all rooms, however, the yard is a bit too uneven for wheeled mobility use. The primary bathroom has good grab bars, for stability. The property is very quiet and has tremendous views of the night sky. Being at altitude, if there are no clouds, it is a very beautiful sight. All-in-all, this is a great place to homebase for a visit to the mountain and desert area of San Diego County.
