On the Front End: Responsive host, Easy check in, Keypad lock major + for large group, Nice attn to detail (you can tell it's a home not just a house), Incredibly clean/well kept.
Our Stay: The Uptop House is simply breathtaking. Gigantic and plenty of room so a big group doesn't feel like they're on top of eachother, but totally cozy at the same time. The pictures really don't do it justice. The decks and view of the lake are great, and there are so many fun things to do (even when snowbound). Beautiful living room with seating for a small army, and a great TV for movie night.
We were initially concerned about meal prep logistics, as our group has a LOT of different dietary needs and restrictions; the size & layout of the kitchen proved to be another unsung hero of this place. The Air Roaster was also a nice touch; didn't know they existed before this trip but we have already ordered one for our kitchen.
The driveway is very STEEP, which the host pointed out before we arrived and was very quick to offer assistance when I told him we got some snow. We needed to have the driveway completely cleared to get out (literally impassible with 4WD when snow/ice covered).
This place is an absolutely perfect lake house, and would be even better in the summer. Despite it being frigid, we were so entertained with ping pong, the pool table, the hot tub, and a great space to enjoy each other's company.
The kids especially loved the huge bluetooth speaker in the main area, which was loud enough to reach them all the way in the backyard so they could enjoy the music while playing in the snow. We're all so happy that we came, weather be darned, and we look forward to returning this summer.
