First- I have to say, I have always given 5 star reviews for places we’ve stayed, this is my first below. We know it matters, and don’t take these lightly. The house on the water was cute in concept, we were really looking forward to our stay. It was fairly clean, although a bit weathered from use. When we arrived, we were surprised to find multiple flies inside the unit. We didn’t equate them to the bathroom until day two. By the end of the second day, the raw sewage and concentrated urine odor, along with an increase in flies, became almost unbearable despite the room deodorizer and fly traps we bought while there. We did our best to manage the experience- staying outside when we could, or away from the boat with activities. Location was about a 10 min drive to the beach/restaurants/downtown area.

Floating cottage

Our stay was fantastic! We loved the location, we loved being on the water, and we loved how clean the property was! Beds were comfy, there were extra blankets, pillows, towels, and beach towels, and it was keyless entry which made it easy to come and go. Our kids loved walking the dock every night, looking at all the wildlife (especially turtles!). The only “issue” that we had was the air condition unit, right outside the bunk bed room. It was extremely loud all through the night. It made a loud vibration in the whole room and kept my kids awake. The other parts of the property were not loud, only the back of the house. Air stayed nice and cool inside, just a very loud noise coming from the outside unit. We did not notice that sound on the other floating cottages next to us. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying here rather than a hotel!
