Welcome to Key Lime Cottage, a fully renovated 1926 gem located just blocks from Cape Charles beach, Central Park, and downtown. Your stay includes a complimentary golf cart for breezy exploration! We've lovingly restored this classic four-square home to combine historic charm with modern comfort. Sun-drenched rooms await, featuring a convenient powder room on the main floor and two full bathrooms upstairs—one with a soaking tub.

Gather around a large dining table that seats 12 for family feasts, with an additional kids' table. Relax on sofas in a living room adorned with an eclectic book collection. Step outside to find ample seating on a spacious front porch equipped with ceiling fans for those warm days. The back deck offers a grill and dining setup, along with an outdoor shower for post-beach rinses.

Sleep soundly in one of four inviting bedrooms. Choose from three rooms with queen beds outfitted with premium mattresses, or opt for a 'kids’ room' featuring a bunk bed and twin trundle, sleeping up to five little ones or two adults. And for outdoor adventure? Two kayaks and three bikes are yours to enjoy.

Week at Cape Charles

This was our fourth time to Cape Charles, but our first time at Key Lime. The house was great. The location was so close to the beach and having the golf cart to get to town was the best. We brought our 3 children with us and the house had so much to entertain them!

Wonderful Time at the Key Lime Cottage!

From the moment we booked the Key Lime Cottage to the moment we left to head home our experience was outstanding! The home is beautiful and full of character and in an absolutely optimal location (1 1/2 block from beach, 1/2 block from park, and 3-4 blocks from Mason Ave). All the perks (kayaks, bikes, beach chairs, and other beach accessories), especially the golf cart really made our stay comfortable. The house was very clean and supplied with more than enough linens and pillows. We especially loved the large dining table that comfortable fit our whole family and how it was open to the living room. The air conditioning was amazing and made the home such a relief from the heat. We were also pleasantly surprised by how many outlets there were especially considering the home was about 100 years old! The front porch was huge with plenty of seating, such a nice way to end each evening. Adam was great with communication through booking and our stay and even let us know that we could check in early. Cape Charles is a truly a gem for many reasons and the Key Lime Cottage is amongst those!

Great House, Great Location

From the time we booked Key Lime Cottage until the time we checked out, everything went extremely smooth. The home is welcoming and a quick walk or golf cart ride to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The house is well furnished inside and includes many necessary beach items. Everyone enjoyed the stay at Cape Charles!

Wonderful!

Loved the house and location. Property well stocked with all essentials and very clean. Location was perfect for walking anywhere-beach, park for pickleball and town for eating and shopping. Golf cart a great bonus! Thank you for sharing your charming home. Hosts were super helpful too.

Happy New Year!

Great communication with Adam and he was very accommodating to our needs. It helped us to make a birthday celebration special! Well-appointed home for our holiday weekend getaway and the golf cart is an excellent plus! Our Goldens enjoyed the backyard. Close to the beach and downtown shopping and restaurants. Cape Charles never disapoints!

CBES 30th Annual Bike Ride

We truly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home this past weekend while participating in the CBES bike ride. The home is charming and the property is extremely clean. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive. The golf cart is a great way to explore Cape Charles and we can't wait to return and use the kayaks. Many great amenities. I would highly recommend this property.

The Perfect Short Getaway

This was the perfect getaway during a very busy time at home. Key Lime Cottage is perfectly appointed with everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked, as are the bathrooms. The small sunporch is a perfect place to gate you pets, and the entire backyard is fenced. Key Lime Cottage is less than a two block from the beach, which is beautiful with munificent views. We will definitely be returning, hopefully for a longer stay. Our host, Adam was very accommodating and attentive.

Fabulous week

We had a fabulous family week at Key Lime Cottage and even a tropical storm going through didn’t bother our stay. The house had everything we needed and we could even charge our EV. This was our favorite house we have stayed at in Cape Charles and the hosts were great!

Quiet beach getaway

This was our third trip to Cape Charles and hands down the best property we have booked there. We chose this over other rentals because of: fenced yard, golf cart, proximity to the beach. Cape Charles is a very walkable town, but if you are lugging beach equipment, kids and/or pets, having a golf cart makes life so much easier. This house is also well stocked: bath/shower supplies, towels (oh the towels!), soap, detergent, pots/pans, etc. Just bring clothes and food - they have everything else. The front porch was great for relaxing in between beach time. Outdoor shower (with warm water) was perfect for washing off our sandy feet. Really no negatives to speak of, except that we couldn't stay longer! Would 100% stay here again!

Newest Members of Key Lime Cottage Fanclub

Loved everything about our week-long stay at Key Lime Cottage. Lovely, comfortable and clean home accommodated our family of 7. Wonderful large dining table was perfect for gathering around and for art projects. Streamed movies in the comfy living room. All the beds were very comfortable, and our teens loved the bunk bed room! Enjoyed the front porch and little enclosed back room that opened to the back deck…nice little space for reading, resting, playing guitar. We toured town with the golf cart, kayaked, wandered the beach, relaxed, stayed in and cooked more than going out because we just enjoyed being there! We also enjoyed horseback riding along Cherrystone Creek, farmland and woods with Esperanza Riding Co, visiting the Kiptopeke Wildlife Refuge, and seeing wild ponies at Assateague Island. Many thanks to Adam who was so helpful and communicative. We hope to come back sometime!

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing

Our family loved everything about our Cape Charles stay. The house was clean, beautiful, conveniently located, and equipped with everything we needed for a wonderful time. The host greeted us when we were checking in, and communication was clear and consistent throughout the whole process. Our only regret was that we needed to leave. We wish we could have stayed longer and definitely want to come back to Cape Charles and Key Lime Cottage.

Wonderful experience

This house has a very wonderful floor plan for a group of nine. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the front porch. The golf cart was a major plus as well as the ability to check-in early. We will definitely be back!

A+ Cape Charles Rental

We are a group of retired Marketing teachers who taught hospitality and customer service concepts in our curriculum. Key Lime Cottage rated an A+ in all areas! The house is simply gorgeous and the accommodations outstanding. For a beach vacation you don’t have to bring anything but clothes, suntan lotion, and food. Everything is supplied for you, down to the beach towels. Adam is a delightful host and attentive to every detail. Our group has decided Key Lime Cottage will be our Cape Charles choice from now on.

Spacious, comfortable, great location

Beautiful, historic home in an extremely quiet location that is also close to the beach in one direction and restaurants and shops in another. There were just two of us, so we only used one bedroom, the kitchen, the porch, backyard deck and living area, but plenty of room for larger groups without being crowded. Furnishings were comfortable, appliances were new (loved the refrigerator), porch was great for coffee in the morning or playing cards in the afternoon. We only used it twice, but the golf cart seemed new and worked well, other than that we walked to everything. Nice selection of games and books. The shed had plenty of beach supplies and we used a couple of the beach chairs but didn't get a chance to play cornhole. As far as local places, our favorites were Kelly's and Table and Tonic (one is an Irish pub and the other a shop with a great selection of cocktail bitters and a great crab bloody mary mix). The Shanty, AJ's, Deadrise Pizza, and Cape Charles Brewery were also awesome. We loved the home and the town and hope to be back again soon!

Perfect Cape Charles Experience

We loved the Key Lime Cottage. It had everything we needed, kayaks, golf cart, bikes! Excellent location- close to beach, central park (pickle ball court, soccer fields, and playground) and "downtown" CC which has restaurants, shops, distillery, etc. We would love to stay again!

Great rental

Great house in a great location. We enjoyed our short stay in Cape Charles. The house is walking distance to the beach and the shops. Spacious inside and nicely decorated. We will definitely rent again. The only thing I would want others to know is that there are not any extras that you sometimes find in other rentals like cooking oil or pam spray in the kitchen, sugar, spices etc. If you bring something to cook you need to bring everything you’ll need for it. There is also no shampoo or conditioner or anything like that although every bathroom did have liquid hand soap. These are by no means deal breakers but just something to know. My husband and I both forgot shampoo but it was a quick trip to the nearby pharmacy to get a trial size. We will definitely rent here again but be super sure we have everything we need.
