Aloha and Welcome to Moana Imaku! Come and enjoy your Hawaiian getaway in a lovely, spacious, light filled home all your own. In creating this vacation home it was important for the owner to build a place that could be enjoyed by all, including the differently abled. This home is wheel chair accessible from the entry ramp to the wide doorways and easy-access showers in both bathrooms. There are lots of extra features for those with special needs. Everyone in your group will love the ocean view lanai a block from the ocean... and you may meet the neighborhood hen, Henrietta, who often leaves a freshly laid egg for guests on a chair cushion!

When you enter this hale you will notice the lovely tropical furnishings and décor, shiny African mahogany floors, large fully equipped gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances, and dining area. Not to mention the newly furnished and comfortable lanai with 2 loveseats, 2 chairs and a dining table that sits 4. The spacious living room includes a Smart TV and plenty of seating area.

The bedrooms consist of a four poster queen size bed in the master bedroom with its own master bathroom. First guest room has two single beds and second guest room has one queen size bed. Guest bathroom is conveniently located between both bedrooms.
Moana Imaku also features indoor laundry room with front load washer & dryer, and a 400 square foot lanai where you can enjoy outdoor dining and take in your ocean views.
This hale is located on the beautiful Puna coast a block from the ocean and the beautiful ocean park, bringing you our island sunshine and trade breezes on the sunrise side of the island.
We hope that when you come to Moana Imaku that you will find the tranquility and harmony of these beautiful islands. NOTE: there is no beach access in the neighborhood as the ocean cliffs are more than 20 feet high - breathtaking for photographers and other nature lovers!

Idyllic Location and Lovely Home

We especially enjoyed all the fans in every room and the nice large lanai, where we had breakfast every morning looking at the view of the ocean. This is a very spacious property and had lots of room for the three of us. There were plenty of windows to open when we returned after a day of touring around, which helped to dissipate the heat.

Wonderful property

Very clean, spacious and overall comfortable. Bed in master bedroom could do with replacing but other queen very comfortable. Despite no AC, house cooled off well at night. Favourite part was covered lanai. Kept us dry even when it rained. Would have liked a few more garbage/recycling bags to useIt is a drive to the drier west coast beaches but convenient for Volcano National Park & Black and Green Sand beaches. Shopping at Pahoa convenient. I’d highly recommend Kaleo’s if looking for a place to eat.

The property is near the ocean. Great view from the lānai. At night the house was warm and the flooring was slippery and damp. The ceiling fans were a nice option to try and cool the house down. The house was clean and there was plenty of space. Check-in and out was easy.

The house was awesome. We had a wonderful time and it was a large house for the grandkids to play. The view on the lanai was incredible. The weather was hit and miss but overall great.

Beautiful property

The location is perfect if you want a quiet, peaceful vacation. Shopping and restaurants are a 15 minute drive. The Lanai was a gem!!! I appreciated all of the amenities for handicapped visitor, with easy access to the house (ramp) and the shower.

Sunrise in hawaii

We had a wonderful stay at Moana Imaku. Everything was as advertised but the furniture on the lanai is getting a bit weathered. That being said we did spend most of our time out on that lanai staring at the ocean and enjoying the sounds of the neighborhood. I was up early every morning to see a beautiful sunrise over the ocean. The location was great, from there we drove around the island. The kitchen is extremely well set up and made cooking from home easy. Would definitely go again.

Perfect Family Home

This was a perfect spot for our 4 generations of family ! My 80 yr old father, 30 yr old daughter and kids (12,8 and 6) all felt safe, comfortable and had plenty of room for all of us to enjoy. Loved walking across the road to the park ~ the rental had great beach chairs in all sizes for us to carry across the road where we would sit on the grass and enjoy the amazing ocean view!!

A bit remote but great

Services are not close if you need them, stores etc... local TV service at this house is limited if you need that, must have a car if you choose this location. For us it was perfect, didn't need the fancy things some folks need, wife and I had a great experience, and talk story with the neighbors,I could live there, we'll be back.

Great out of tourist area location

House is exactly as advertised. Check in process was easy. We enjoyed the book of information about the area of the house and things to do. Lanai is the place to be as the main houses very hot and stuffy during the time we stayed there. We open the windows at night, and used all the fans. Bring earplugs if you Can’t sleep with nature noises lol. Neighborhood is definitely far away from the touristy area so be prepared to drive when you want to do something. That was our plan all along so we had no issues.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was a perfect size for the 4 of us (2 couples), was very well equipped and was a nice location. We lived sitting on the patio and looking at the ocean. Nice quiet location and friendly neighborhood. The only drawback was some minor maintenance requirements in the house (broken cupboard door, sticky kitchen faucet) but not a big issue.

Brother in law & Sister in law marriage reunion

Brought brother in law & sister in law back to where they were married 43 years ago and to their first house at the Naval Base They thought they’re never get to come back ❤️ they were married at the church on the base camp it’s still there but decommissioned The house was amazing and worked out great thank you

Slice of paradise

We stayed in Moana Imaku for a week and loved it. The house is really nice, the neighborhood is safe and quite and the ocean is just a two minute walk. We were there in July so we were concerned about not having AC. However, there are ceiling fans in all the rooms and the location cooled down enough that we had no problems sleeping. We did make it a point to be out of the house in the afternoons as it was quite warm.

Great House with a Beautiful View

We stayed here for six nights in December 2022 and it was a great house. The location is very quiet and peaceful, and the water view (not beach but beautiful volcanic rocks) is a short block away. You can see the ocean from the lanai. The house was very well outfitted, with plenty of cooking supplies and utensils. They had a nice stock of shampoos, body wash, etc as well. While it was a lot of driving to get to everything we wanted to see, that's just the nature of the Big Island. We would definitely stay here again. Oh, and Henrietta left us a couple nice gifts on our final morning!

Real Hawaii experience

Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Moana Imaku. The house is located on the edge of a real neighborhood. Quiet and across the street from a neighborhood park. The complete opposite of a typical Hawaii condo development. The lanai is probably where we spent the most time, eating and relaxing. Restaurants and a grocery store are probably a 20-minute drive away. The slightly funky, small town of Pahoa is also close. The property manager was great. really responsive and friendly.
