Clean, cozy guest house with peaceful atmosphere and lovely fall color views. We loved the private location on their ranch and enjoyed meeting and feeding the two cute miniature mules, Blitzen and Donner.

We had a wonderful overnight visit. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the views were great. Kathleen was responsive to questions and friendly. Would stay again next time we’re in Boone, NC.

The weekend that we went was wet and rainy the whole time because of a tropical storm that came up from the gulf coast. Although it rained the whole time, we still had a really nice stay at the little one room pet friendly cabin. Our two little dogs were very welcomed there. Kathleen was very nice and responded immediately after each time we contacted her. Thank you again for the great weekend we had.

We had an excellent time this weekend! The cabin was very clean, it was well stocked with kitchenware, there were plenty of card games and board games to play as a family, and it met every need we had.The hostess was very friendly and responded very quickly with any questions or needs we had. We would definitely stay again!PS if you stay at Almost Heaven don't forget the carrots for Donner and Blitzen , the super sweet and friendly mini horse and donkey that live on the property.

We were delighted to find a pet friendly place that not only was clean and neat but allowed us full access to the farm area as long as our pet was on a leash. It was fun to see our terrier, Finnegan, interact with Blitzen and Donner. Kathleen was very responsive to our requests. She even went out of her way to guide us up the mountain in the dark to our cabin when we first arrived. She was always accessible to us and we really enjoyed visiting with her. She is a very personable hostess. She gave us advice on what to do and see. You can tell she loves having guests and enjoys sharing her ranch life with them. You will feel most welcome here. We were very comfortable when the weather turned cold and rainy. Thank you Kathleen for a most enjoyable, memorable stay and for sharing your slice of heaven with us. The Sawyers Family

Good place for a couple. Peaceful setting close to downtown. There is a king bed, an extra large chair, and a small table with two chairs. Outside are four chairs with a fire pit. The kitchen has what you need. The miniature donkey is very friendly and we and our dog enjoyed meeting him. The miniature horse is also friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin at Almost Heaven was clean, cozy, and comfortable. We loved seeing the animals! The location was easy to get to, the gate was easy to manage, and the hosts are welcoming. We would have liked to use the fire pit; maybe next time!

The perfect spot for a peaceful stay in the mountains above Boone, after dropping into town you return to a quiet space with Donner (miniature donkey) and Blitzen ( miniature draft horse) as company. Kathleen was a gracious host with a kind manner that perfectly fit the surroundings, felt like a home away from home. Will definitely return to this special spot.

Other than the weather not cooperating, it was a perfect stay. The place is incredibly cute with a lovely view for breakfast. Everything was clean and tidy and we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. Would definitely come back again.

We really enjoyed our stay! The bed was comfortable and the pillows were top level!! I’m a pillow snob! I like that she has a single cup Keurig in addition to a coffee pot.,Communication with Kathleen was super easy and she’s quick to respond. The best thing of all was my furbaby was welcomed!! Seeing Donner and Blitzen daily was fun and they are so sweet! Boone, Banner Elk, and Blowing Rock are all dog friendly towns and that’s a huge thing for us!

Absolutely a great romantic cabin in the mountains. It is very quiet and a wonderful place to reconnect. Steve and Kathlene are great. I would recommend this rental. Patti and Steve will be back with Violet (our Shepard).

The cabin was perfectly tucked in the mountains where you can watch the sunrises and sunsets on this beautiful horse farm. Kathleen was so sweet and answered any emails within minutes. Downtown Boone was about 2 miles down the mountain. We are looking forward to going back!!

Bridget and Bob were perfect guests! They took wonderful care of our Guest Cabin, and when they left, you would never know that they had two large labs with them. We highly recommend Bridget and Bob to other Hosts, and they will always be welcome at Almost Heaven Ranch!!

It's a very cozy and clean cabin. Beautiful view out the window. It felt private although the homeowners seemed in their residence adjacent to the cabin. It's secluded but the directions and GPS brought us right to the property.

Host was great, answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Cabin was cute and adequate. Weather was cold, snowy, and roads were frozen so was not able to get out much. Did see deer in the yard.

Kathleen and Steve were the perfect hosts and the guest house was just perfect for me. They have everything you need including coffee, a full kitchen, plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer and a TV. The wifi worked great, and I was able to work from here with no issues. The layout of the space was perfect and I appreciated the king size bed. If you are looking for a place up in the mountains but still close to town, this is the perfect spot. I can’t wait to visit again!

Beautiful sunset and quiet stay. It was close to town, but far enough up the mountain to not hear the traffic. A peaceful stay.
