Welcome to Villa Carmelita.
Glamorous Palm Springs Villa with strong ties to Old Hollywood. Once owned by Sonny & Cher. Very private walled and gated estate in The Mesa neighborhood - a quiet residential hideaway nestled along the base of the San Jacinto mountains. This is not a house that is set up for children. Each bedroom (except the primary) enters & exits to either the pool or to the front of the house. The bedrooms are not connected. This is why we do not allow children. Gorgeous center courtyard with a large pool (optional pool heating can be purchased for $70/night), alfresco dining, and a living area with a fireplace and a daybed. Spa. Outdoor shower. Built-in BBQ grill. Ping Pong Table. Up to 2 dogs under 50lbs are allowed for a $100 (plus city TOT Tax) pet fee per dog.

Perfect stay

I stayed here with a group of friends for my 40th birthday. It was perfect. The pool was everything we hoped. The property is situated right next to the mountains, offering stunning views. Although it feels calm and secluded, it is still conveniently close to everything in town. We loved it and would happily go back again and again.

This place is incredible. So lovely and well maintained. I loved that the location was super convenient to town (by car), <1mi to a great hiking trail and felt very private.

Oasis to relax in.

Property was exactly as advertised, with beautiful pool and garden spaces, well outfitted for an enjoyable vacation. The house a perfect setup for an extended group, with separate bed/baths and private entrances inside a private compound. Would love to go back!

40th Girls Trip

The house was perfect! Plenty to do in the area with restaurants and hiking. We did not need to venture far and preferred staying close to home because it was so beautiful.

Beautiful property - one of the best rentals I’ve stayed in. So many amenities and love the added history as a bonus! Would not recommend for small families due to the bedroom locations, but was perfect for 4 couples ! Highly recommend

Luxurious and Worthwhile

Went all out to splurge for a 40th and Villa Carmelita did not disappoint. So many details and beautiful decor, and the misters and climate control let us enjoy a particularly hot weekend. Will absolutely be back.

Boys 35th annual golf trip

Perfect house to accommodate 6 people . House is even better than pictures . Jeremy there to help at arrival and communicate as required. Would stay again ,in fact wouldn't even look at another place.

Perfect Space for Couples!

We rented the house to spend time with our adult children. The two private Casita-style bedrooms were great for the kids and their partners to have space that felt private and yet connected. The master bedroom is spacious. The fourth bedroom was private for a friend who joined us. The kitchen is VERY well stocked! The pool is great. The house is private and yet convenient to everything! Jeremy was very responsive and great with communication.

Comfort Surrondings

At the center of the house there is a very nice size pool. For Palm Springs this is a basic requirement. Each room is nicely appointed. Everyone thought the beds were very comfortable—also key for a restful getaway. The the living room was spacious,, super comfortable and had a floor to ceiling window that show cased a beautiful fountain and lush landscape. The is a perfect property to gather with friends and family in a private setting. Beats having to elbow hotel guest for pool space. Definitely would like to visit again. P.S. like the Sonny and Cher pics throughout.

Villa Carmelita was excellent. Felt much bigger and much more chic in person (don't let the Bowie pillows fool you!). Hosts were easy and attentive. The kitchen is extremely well appointed from cooking to serving wares, all your essential spices etc. All the rooms felt very private and separate. Location is also 10/10.

Amazing Palm Springs Must Stay

Everything about this property was absolutely without a doubt the most amazing Palm Springs stay. Location is everywhere you want to be. House feels like you have your own private resort. Every detail is perfect from the history to the huge outdoor spaces to the fully stocked home. What makes an amazing place even better? Phenomenal hosts. They were very attentive, supportive and responsive through the whole rental process. Modernize Home Services and Jeremy get a 10/10 rating on top of the 10/10 rating for the estate. Highly recommend all around!

Such a beautiful place!

We LOVED our stay at this amazing house. It was even more lovely in person and had everything we needed for a long weekend away. The beds were so comfortable, the location was peaceful, and everywhere you looked there was a beautiful view. The owl in the trees hooting away at night was the icing on the cake. Would 100% recommend and stay again.

Great Family Get-away

The house worked well for our 3 generation get-together. The common space provided a comfortable gathering place. The kitchen was well-stocked and there was room for us all to eat together. The dispersed bedrooms offered some privacy when the crowd was too much. And the pool! My seven year old granddaughter said it was the BEST place she had ever stayed and when were we going back.

Family getaway

We had our BEST VRBO experience ever with our adult kids and their spouses. It was perfect as each couple had their own room with a separate entrance. The kitchen was FULLY stocked with everything you need.

Thanksgiving With Family

We loved our stay at the Sonny and Cher house. It is perfect for a group who want to spend time together and also have your own space to chill. The kitchen was well-equipped and had everything we needed to prepare our Thanksgiving dinner. The heated pool was great, the neighborhood is fabulous! There is a fun selection of games and puzzles, it's the perfect home to hang out with family and friends.

40th birthday weekend

We had a great stay at the house. It is beautiful, the pool area particularly is pretty and helped set the mood. The property management is nice, communicates well, and was quick to respond when there was a little hiccup with the house.

A Hen Weekend To Remember

This is a fabulous property. Perfect for 8 adults or 4 couples. The bunk room is a great addition if you have teenagers. All the main bedrooms have their own bathroom and they are separate from one another to really give you a sense of privacy when you need it. Jeremy, the property manager was lovely, a great help and quick to respond. The pool and grounds have so much to offer. We never left the house, because why on earth would we. The kitchen was set up with everything you need to prepare and serve all your own meals. We brought fancy coffee and groceries. There is a Trader Joes and a Ralphs nearby and a Whole Foods about 20 minutes away. We are already planning our next trip. This time we plan on bringing the husbands.
