Thank you for your review and feedback, which is important to us. While the mattress is less than a year old, we will let the owner know that you found it uncomfortable. Cardinal’s Cottage doesn’t have an attic, so you could have been hearing trees brushing against the roof or squirrels scampering across it. As you know, the cottage is situated along the marshy banks of St. Joseph’s Bay; an area that is beautiful and offers excellent access to the water. However, it does come with typical marsh flora and fauna—mosquitoes and other bugs among them. Depending on the time of year—especially during hurricane season—we often see a surge in mosquitoes and other insects. Lastly, the saltworks cabins have always been rustic and many of them are still in need of repairs from Hurricane Michael. Thanks for staying with us. We would like the opportunity to provide you with a better experience the next time you visit Cape San Blas.
