Gulf View Duplex on Cape San Blas

Sunny Dayz is a completely remodeled, 2 bedroom gulf view duplex centrally located on Cape San Blas near Scallop Cove store/deli and San Flea rental store. The home was designed to be fun and colorful downstairs and peaceful and relaxing upstairs. A new covered outdoor space was added summer 2023 with patio furniture and sun catchers to add more living space and coastal vibe even during a rain shower. For more added living space, the picnic table is now downstairs so families may enjoy grilling and eating downstairs in the shade. (There are plastic dishes, cups and pitcher in the kitchen for outside entertaining). The entire home has vinyl plank flooring with carpeted stairs. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, white cabinets, granite counter tops and lovely glass tile and lighting. Summer 2023 the owners restocked the kitchen by adding more pots and pans, bowls, steam-less wine glasses and everything a "family of four" or "two couples" will need to enjoy their vacay.

The two upstairs bedrooms have private en-suites. The oceanside, "sunset" queen bedroom and bath has a beautiful accent glass tile shower and both rooms have decorative white washed wood walls. The bayside, king bedroom with tile bath tub has an incredible view of sunrises over Saint Joe Bay.

The new private decks are perfect for relaxing and watching a gorgeous sunset over the gulf or stargazing from the upper deck. Sounds from the ocean will calm your soul and rejuvenate your mind and spirit. We are less than 120 steps from the community boardwalk which carries you over the protected dunes to amazing, white, sandy beaches and pristine waters.

Enjoy watching the waves in the ocean, fishing in the surf, boating in the bay and observing gulls and pelicans flying overhead. Bike on the newly created bike trails to Saint Joseph State Park and Florida's #1 Beach. This is a truly relaxing place to unwind and explore. The beauty of Cape San Blas will make you want to come back again and again.

Our Slice of Heaven

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Besides the first night when we arrived to the keys not working AND the house having not been cleaned... after that we had an amazing trip and we would return. We felt like they should have compensated us "something" for that - we drove 14 hours, then couldn't get in, then couldn't leave because they were sending someone to come clean. By the time that was done, there was no place open to grab a bite to eat. Just frustrating.

Do wish this home had black out curtains in the bedroom we slept in other than just white sheers. Sunlight woke us up very early everyday. No TV in either bedroom, more for husband than me.

Good location on beautiful Cape San Blas

We stayed for 4 nights and 3 days, coming to Port St. Joe to fish with our long time charter boat captain. The rental was just as described, and a friend and myself enjoyed us each having our own room and bathroom. We typically eat in for most meals, and the kitchen was adequately equipped for this. Strangely, they did not have potholders/hot pads, and the coffee maker was the old basket type with all the words worn off the buttons, and no filters provided. We called Coastal Joe Rentals and they had someone run over filters immediately-nice!! These were small annoyances, however, so overall it was a 5-star visit. The rental places on the Cape have really increased in price since Hurricane Michael and the pandemic, and since we did not stay a whole week the fees really decrease the value to price ratio.

Relaxing week

We loved our time at Sunny Dayz! The home was clean and right next to the beach. You can look at the water from the top balcony. My only suggestion for the owners is to include a few more dish towels and towels, it was okay for my husband and I but a family would need to do laundry every day. We were SO happy with the location and the beaches on the cape. I 100% plan to stay here again.

Great time

My wife and I spent a week at Sunny Dayz in early July. We had stayed in the same neighborhood before, but never at this unit. Everything was 100% true to the listing. The unit has been remodeled and everything was well done. My wife loved the style of the unit. Living room was comfortable and relaxing. Everything in the kitchen worked well. Washer and dryer worked well also. Lower deck was nice to relax on and the upper deck had a nice ocean view. Upstairs, both bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice (especially the master bath). Both beds were also very comfortable. Short 2/3 minute was to the beach is great. Very convenient to everything on the Cape as well. In addition, the rental company (Costal Joe Vacation Rentals) were great to deal with. Check-in and check-out were super easy and their office was maybe 1 minute down the road. The first night we were there, we had a monster storm that knocked out the modem (it fried the power brick). After trouble shooting, I had to call Costal Joe. They were easy to deal with. They contacted the owner who scheduled a service call. A tech from the internet provider came out and had the internet service restored less than 24 hours after I called. Loved this place and we will definitely be back.

Great Updated Beach House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Fully renovated place. Clean with lots of nice touches and all new appliances. Had a great time and its a very short walk to the beach. Here are my suggestions to improve on what was nearly perfect: living room needs a bigger TV. The 32 inch didn’t cut it for the football game we watched. Add a TV to both upstairs bedrooms would be nice. Kitchen was in need of cooking spoons and utensils. Can’t have too many of those. Also, there were no baking sheets or pizza pans. Would have been really nice to have an enclosed outdoor shower for clean up after the beach. The hose downstairs worked pretty good though. Those are the things I’d fix to get the property from a 99 to a 100. We had a great time and would love to stay here again in the future!

SUNNY DAYZ RENTAL REVIEW

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I love the Cape and always look forward to returning. Sunny Dayz is beautifully decorated! The location is good as well! However, the issue with the dryer not working needs to be addressed or a sign left so renters are aware of needing to unplug and re-plug the back of the dryer. Even after doing so, the dryer runs very hot and the dial in the front does not move so you have to continually check to see when the clothes are done. Also, there needs to be lighting underneath the unit and up both sets of stairs. There is a motion light for the side stairs, however, it did not come on all the time, which makes it hard to see in the dark. We were given two washclothes, for two people, to last our entire stay, and the bed sheets were poor quality. One set appeared to have blood stains. Fortunately, there are two beds! The unit could be cleaned more thoroughly. There was a hair tie and bar of soap left in the window of one shower, hand prints on the living room mirrors, and solo cups under the couch. The dishwasher does not work well and we ended up handwashing most of the dishes. I do not mean to be complaining alot, however, I want to be honest so this is known and can be corrected for future guests. Some dish rags would be nice as well as more than one pot holder. Having said all of this, we would stay there again and enjoyed the Cape, as always!

Seems like everything is recently updated. Loved the westward view to watch sunsets with short walk to beach. Close enough to good food at Peach’s for lunch of grouper sandwich. Indian Pass raw bar for shrimp and oysters. Live music most nights at Scallop Republic. The place was clean and quiet. Just wish we could bring our dog back in the spring.

Great Place to Stay

You can get a nice view of the ocean from the 2nd floor balcony. This small community of duplexes is one of my favorite places to stay. Just a one minute walk to the beach and you are just across the street from San Flea Rentals (very nice people). You are also located between Scallop Cove and The Trading Post.My only recommendations for this unit would be to supply a few extra sets of bath towels (we had 4 people and exactly 4 towels) and to install a TV in each bedroom.Coastal Joe's was a pleasure to deal with and their staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend staying at Sunny Dayz and I hope to be back soon!!

Comfortable and Great Access to Beach

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented the unit for almost 2 weeks and had a very nice stay on the Cape! There were two of us and we had plenty of space. I'd say anymore than 4 people and it would get cramped. Pros: 1) great access to beach, 2) comfortable furnishings, 3) decent size kitchen and modern appliances, 4) adequate parking space for our truck (might be tight with two vehicles especially if other side of duplex is rented. Cons: 1) only 1 TV (living room) and it's a bit on the smallish side, 2) king size bed on bay side of house (smaller bedroom). I would switch the Queen on the beach side with the King on the bayside. 3) There were some cockroaches. We were told they had sprayed a few days before we arrived but repeatedly (almost every day) saw a roach or two that had died or was clearly alive. It's the South, I get it! But have stayed many years on the Cape and this was the first house where we've run into this issue. It's not like the roaches were everywhere, and they looked like Palmetto type, but honestly the House needs to be bug bombed!Now all that said it was a nice stay. We had absolutely gorgeous weather (70s) for the week after Christmas and we were on the beach that whole week in bathing suits. Absolutely beautiful sunsets! Overall we were pleased with the unit but would recommend that the owner consider addressing the issues mentioned.

Beautiful

We didn't have the best weather and it was our first stay in Cape San Blas. However, we loved it here. House was perfect proximity to the Gulf which was an absolute must for us. We will definitely be back!!!
