You'll love staying at Hidden Trails Retreat where relaxation is easy in our quiet and peaceful neighborhood. It is a short walk to Rumsey Park where you will find baseball, basketball, pickle ball, and tennis in addition to our hidden hiking/biking trails. We are also in the heart of Payson with great access to a variety of restaurants, bars, entertainment, and everything you need for a great getaway!

Gorgeous Property

What an amazing stay! The owners literally thought of everything. The house is comfortable, sparkling clean, and so safe. The beds are so comfortable! Entertainment options are many in this fantastic get away. It really is a gem!

Great family and pet getaway!

My family and I were looking for a pet friendly place with personality and privacy in a peaceful setting. We found this place and just fell in love the moment we walked in! The hosts left us a goodie basket on the counter and treats in the fridge as well. The home was immaculate, and the welcome book even had a scavenger hunt in it that our kids immediately took on while the adults settled in. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and there was plenty of space for us and the doggies to spread out, along with a ton of games to play together which we loved! We painted rocks and left them in the backyard with some of the others that have been done by other previous guests as well. We brought our doggies along (we had one service dog amongst the bunch) and they loved the backyard where they were able to run and play in the cool weather. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had very little that we needed to purchase while we were there as far as condiments, spices, etc. It is about 5 minutes away from grocery stores, and there's a phenomenal little fudge store nearby too. We were actually bummed to have to head home, but are looking forward to staying again in the future! If I had to make any suggestions to the hosts, it's to possibly see if you can increase the water pressure in the master bath shower. We used it once but it was really low (I'm 5'7 and it was almost touching my head) and I struggled to wash my hair very well.

Special Christmas celebration

He had three Christmas trees and stockings hung by the fireplace with goodies. My family lives in Payson and strawberry and we live in Tucson. they would come over to Jon's place that we rented. It was a wonderful loving time.

Pleasant get away

Our group of 4 plus our dogs enjoyed this house very much. Very quiet and convenient location. The house was very clean and stuck with everything you might need.

Hidden Trails Retreat

We really enjoyed our stay and the Hidden Trails Retreat in Payson. It was a lovely home, very clean, well stocked, nicely decorated in a quiet neighborhood near town and the hiking trails that we love. The hosts were great, very informative, pleasant to deal with, and thoughtful making us feel welcome. We definitely recommend this vacation home and hope to stay there again in the future.

Payson adventure

House is centrally located for exploring Payson, Pine and Strawberry. House is very comfortable, was decorated for Halloween, giving you a feeling that you’re staying at a family member homestead not a VRBO plus is stocked to the Hilt with supplies for cooking, making sundaes and goodies baskets for humans & doggies. The backyard is beautifully decorated, great place to relax and enjoy the fresh air. Hosts are exceptional and should be cloned!! They are wonderful individuals.

Nice Place

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is clean and updated. The backyard is special, especially at night with all the lights on. There are many amenities at this property with all the comforts of home. The owner was very helpful and answered our questions and calls within minutes. I would stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Peaceful Dog Friendly Place

We wanted a nice little getaway from the heat of Sun City, AZ & we were not disappointed. This was our first VRBO & we got spoiled. They had a little welcome basket & some waters & fudge in the fridge when we arrived. They had all the condiments & spices you could ever ask for & even supplied plenty of coffee as well. We loved sitting out on the front porch & loved the gate to enclose our dog as well. It was in such a peaceful location. We really enjoyed our time there. The Hosts just thought of everything.

Baby vacay

We love Jon and Sharon's place. This was our fourth time staying at his beautiful home. This time we stayed for 3 weeks to get away from the heat in Tucson. Plus we have family that live up in the area and a brand new great-grandson. It was wonderful seeing all the family

Perfect Stay at Hidden Trails

We enjoyed a relaxing week at Hidden Trails. We loved taking morning walks in the community. And be sure to take a stroll around Green Valley Lake a few miles away. Have never stayed in a vacation rental so fully equipped. Every time we thought we had noted something we needed, we just looked a little further and sure enough, they already had provided it. The hosts were quick to respond to any question and we loved the extra touches they provided, especially the ice cream sauces and the welcome basket! We have discovered a perfect getaway location for when we can’t deal with the valley heat any longer. Barney and Nancy

Beautiful home away from home.

This home is perfect. The moment we walked in we felt at home. The furnishings and decor are beautiful. It’s a fun house with lots of games, books and goodies. We didn’t lack for anything, as the home was well stocked. And also well stocked for our dogs. We were a little sad to have to leave. Communication with the host was easy and they responded quickly. We hiked every day, as the trails were just minutes away. Thank you Jon and Sharon!

Escape the heat!

If you want to escape the summer heat, this is a great rental for families with children or dogs. Lots of games for kids, including paint for rock art! The welcome basket, bottled water, and fudge were unexpected but greatly appreciated. The rental is well supplied, including dog necessities and children's dishes. The communications from the hosts were clear and complete, including notifying us the morning of our departure of a road closure that impacted our return drive.

Comfortable Stay

Super nice host. The house was well equiped just like staying at home. Very nice and clean. All instructions were super clear and easy to follow. Messages were answered quickly and clearly. Lovely place to stay. Hope to return on our next stay in Payson!

Perfect getaway for us and our pets!

As a couple of seniors trying to beat the Az valley heat, this spot was perfect. Close to home, temps 15 + cooler, fenced yard for our two little pets and good size town to find anything needed. Jon and Sharon were so responsive and helpful and provided a well basket for us and our doggies. Very thoughtful. Would love to come again .

Relaxing and overall great trip!!

Jon and Sharon were just great!! The communication was outstanding from directions to the house to every detail we needed to make our trip so relaxing and stress free. We slept 8 very comfortably. They had everything you would need to cook breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinners in a beautiful kitchen. We even found fun games and entertainment throughout the home. The neighborhood is super quiet and so peaceful. We even saw 4 elk walk behind the property one night!! Jon and Sharon are super host who really care about you and your family, even your furry baby. They provided all kinds of extras to help make our pup feel right at home :) Thank you again Jon and Sharon it was an amazing experience.

3rd Time's a Charm

This is our third stay at Hidden Trails Retreat, so we obviously enjoy staying here. The property is very clean. The hosts provide lots of people/puppy snacks and bottled of water. We enjoyed having morning coffee in the beautiful backyard. The house is very close to Rumsey Park that offers a wonderful place to hike and other recreation. My wife got to see a javelina on one of her walks.

Comfy Payson Accommodations!

We stayed at the Hidden Trails Retreat for 3 nights. My husband, myself and our 3 boys (13 and twin 12s) found the home very inviting on arrival! We arrived to a very clean home, with a large basket of snacks! 😋 It was a welcome site after a long drive from Colorado. There was plenty to keep the kids and adults occupied during down times, my husband introduced the boys to some old school PS2 video games and puzzles and games were found throughout the house. Great kitchen with plenty of cookware, dishes, etc. Fridge was stocked with condiments and cabinets full of spices, etc. One of the best kitchens I've experienced at a VRBO (and I've stayed at many!) It had everything and it was all in good working order. Comfy beds. It took us a few minutes to figure out hot water in master shower, but the welcome book gave us direction (amongst many other helpful tips about the house and the town) Location was great. Just a short drive everywhere. Nice, close, hidden path to the park. Overall great stay. I would definitely book again when heading back to Payson!

Wonderful rental - especially if you travel with your dogs

My wife and I (and our 2 dogs) had a wonderful weekend in Payson. Jon & Sharon very clearly take their role as hosts very seriously - there was nothing that we didn't have. The home was spacious & comfortable. There is nice yard for the dogs, and a very nice neighborhood (and hidden trails) for walks. I can highly recommend staying here if you are ever in Payson.

Wonderful property

Our stay was really wonderful. Everything was exactly as stated in the listing, which is rare from my past experiences. The owners of the property did so much more than any of the others-they really do care and go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. The back yard was absolutely perfect for my granddaughter to play in, being completely fenced provided such peace of mind when we were out there. We plan on visiting Payson again and will definitely cross our fingers that this property is available.

What a Gem

My closest friend of 30+ years and I decided to celebrate our shared April birthdays at Hidden Trails Retreat. We planned to try new recipes and spend a lot of time in the kitchen enjoying each other's company while creating new memories. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with the equipment needed to cook full delicious meals. Jon and Sharon were very attentive, responding to our questions very quickly and ensuring that we were set up for fun in this charming house filled with delightful artwork, games and pretty much anything you could need or want during a stay away from home. The welcome basket for us and the additional gift bag for my little dog was a very nice touch. If we could give Hidden Trails a 10+ we'd do it! Definitely would plan to return if we're ever in the area again. Many thanks to Jon and Sharon for the experience!

Relaxing stay

Anniversary stay

The owners did an awesome amount of stocking this place. It was very clean. They added a card and welcome package. Very thoughful owners. Thanks for the great retreat.
