Welcome to Hickory House on the Bay! Charming 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage overlooking the Chesapeake Bay within walking distance of two community beaches or drive and use our beach parking pass. Relax, enjoy the water view, sounds and breezes. Explore this charming and tranquil Calvert County community, Long Beach by the Bay. Easy commuting distance from DC/Baltimore. Enjoy all that Southern Maryland offers from this centrally located home - Hiking in Calvert Cliffs, kayaking, fishing, boating from Flag Harbor, exploring local vineyards - Running Hare, dinner in Solomon’s Island, visiting Historic St Mary’s.

Relaxing cozy cottage

Had a great week! Cottage is adorable, clean and cozy. Host very welcoming with treats and bowls for our dogs. House is a couple weeks from the beach and a beach parking pass is included. The beach is private and very relaxing. It was very hot that week that we visited abd tge AC was excellent. Lots of extras in the house - games, hand soaps and even ballth salts! Very enjoyable visit!

Very relaxing

The house was very nice for the two of us. Clean and within walking distance of beaches. Very relaxing. Met some neighbors helpful and friendly Great place to stay. Highly recommended.

Cute cottage

The property was absolutely adorable. I would pick that cottage up and drop it in Cape Cod, MA and I would be living my dream!!!! Every amenity was available. House was clean and cozy. Rustic charm, beachy…and yet updated where it counts…bath and kitchen! Neighborhood was quiet. If traveling from New England…just understand that the “beaches” of the Chesapeake are not at all like RI/MA bay beaches. That was my misunderstanding…so instead of going to the beach, we played golf. (Decent municipal course nearby…really nice people too!) DB

Relaxing

The area was dog friendly which means a lot to me my dog is my world. Also area and beach was calm and beautiful. The neighborhood people were very friendly and helpful. The house was the perfect size for my husband, my dog and myself.

Welcome to Hickory House on the Bay! We hope this will be a little home-away-from-home and we hope you enjoy your time here. This neighborhood is called Calvert Beach and we are part of the Community - Long Beach by the Bay.

The beach areas at Long Beach are some of the most spectacular of Maryland’s western shore. In addition to outstanding views, this part of the Chesapeake Bay boasts a boaters’ paradise and access to some of the best fishing spots. Calvert Cliffs provides beach goers with a trove of fossil finds.

We are pet owners (and lovers) and this is why we use properties like this one for our vacations and getaways so we ask that you please pick up after your pet so that we can continue to offer this option to all of our guests. There are special "dog" towels and a dog bed for you furry friend. Therefore, we ask that you please keep animals off the furniture and beds.
