A one-of-a-kind vacation experience at historic North Star Camp on Woman Lake. One of the most beautiful properties on this renowned fishing and recreational lake. Acres of privacy with over 1500 feet of shoreline (see video at https://youtu.be/yZz1McWzOqQ). Private dock, swim tube for kids, boating, fishing, hiking, biking and volleyball. Property was immaculate and just what we needed! The amenities were perfect, including a large property to explore and relax. Dock was solid and we had a fishing boat tied up for 4 days with zero issues. For a 3 man fishing trip, this place is absolutely what we needed!

Beautiful large property with lots of area to explore. Cabin was perfectly laid out and supplied for me and my wife. Hosts checked in periodically but otherwise left us alone which was just what we wanted. Our first trip to Woman Lake and the size of the lake for fishing was great. It is highly populated but most places in Northen MN this nice are.

The host, Jeff, was very responsive and answered questions immediately, checked in a couple of times during the stay to make sure there were no issues and had a well maintained cabin and property, was a perfect base for our annual ice fishing trip to Woman Lake.

The property is like a house more than a cabin on a large quite lot with plenty of shoreline and forested area to explore. Second time with have rented this property and we are looking forward to our next visit to Woman Lake, MN.

Wonderful property with a really cool history. I enjoyed reading about the North Star camp and exploring the property to try to picture it is as a bustling summer camp. Woman lake is amazing and Longville is a short drive and has some fun shops and good ice cream. Plus, there is an eagles nest with fledglings!

Amazing property!

We really loved our stay at Fran and Jeff’s cabin. As others have noted, the property is truly one of a kind, while the cabin was clean and well appointed. On top of that, Jeff was really responsive and helpful when we needed anything. We’ll be back!

Private Retreat

What a great spot. Total privacy, great little cabin, crystal clear water, large open areas for walks and or kids, wonderful hosts. We will be coming back.

Great Location, Great Space, Great Hosts, Great Lake

The house offered lots of space for our family of 4, and was super comfortable. Great air conditioning set up to keep you cool for hot nights, great yard for yard games, and a firepit by the edge of the lake to enjoy the stars by. Super clean house with all the modern conveniences while still having some lake cabin charm.

Fishing trip

Great hosts. The place was clean. Rented a pontoon from wheeler marine. The house was close to the public boat launch.

Lovely cabin

Jeff & Fran were so nice! Fran even made us the best homemade chocolate chip cookies! The property was so private and spacious. The cabin was very clean and the beds were super comfortable! Private dock was a lovely added bonus, we rented a pontoon from wheeler marina great company!

Relaxing and private getaway on a beautiful northern MN lake

We loved how private and spacious Jeff and Fran’s property is, it’s a historic gem, we enjoyed learning about the history of the property. The cabin was beautiful and had all the amenities needed for a wonderful stay. Our 4 & 6 year old boys loved the bunk beds, building bonfires and jumping off the dock. Highly recommend Jeff and Fran as gracious and kind hosts!

Jeff was very accommodating and a spectacular host. They have a family history there since the 1900s. Wonderful place to get away from the cities. Large yard to play around and a few yards to the private dock. Will definitely consider to come back. Close to public boat launch also.

Hunting cabin

Very nice place for my family’s hunting trip. Had everything we needed. Was great to meet the people we rented from. Host was very helpful when we called asking about adding an app for the TV. There is a broken dinning room chair, would highly recommend this to friends and family.

Perfect Getaway

This is a true gem. The interior of the property was immaculate. Fully equipped kitchen ( minus food of course), bathroom, bedrooms and basement laundry facility. The property is beautiful, setting along the north shore of Woman Lake. Birds, squirrels, deer and even an eagles nest right in the property. We visited in early October and were greeted by gorgeous fall color. All I can say is… perfect.

Perfect Stay!

I would give this property a 10 out of 5 it was so clean! Our family has been renting cabins from various locations for almost a decade and this one was by far was the best. The location was secluded and spacious. (The history of the property also put a fun spin on the whole experience!) The cabin was clean and so well kept. It had a cabin vibe with all the perks of home (AC, dishwasher, washer/dryer). Jeff and Fran were so welcoming and responsive. We stayed 9 days and no one in our family of 5 wanted to leave. We spent a ton of time on the dock and fishing. A true Minnesotan summer vacation. I cannot say enough good things about this rental. Truly a gem! Thank you Jeff and Fran for a wonderful experience!

Established in 1900, North Star Camp (NSC) was one of the oldest resorts in Cass County. The resort originally consisted of a log lodge with 12 individual log cabins. It was completely self-sufficient, with the owners growing their own crops and raising their own livestock. NSC ceased operating as a resort in the 1960s and the current owners have worked to preserve the history of the resort, including the remaining four cabins on the property.
