Nestled between Key Largo and Islamorada, this unique property sits directly on the Florida Bay, offering a private and serene escape. With 1.16 acres of lush tropical landscaping and large coral rock block fences, it’s the perfect retreat.

Located across the street from Circle K convenience store and the Dairy Queen in Tavernier, Florida.
Enjoy your own private beach with two charming Old Florida Conch Houses:

Renting the property gives you exclusive access to both homes—Sunset Beach Hideaway —as we do not rent them separately.
Looking for a picturesque setting? We host photo shoots and wedding ceremonies for up to 20 people (no receptions). Receptions can be held next door at the Elks Club. A signed contract and additional fees apply—please inquire for details.
For those bringing a boat, a mooring buoy and floating dock are available. There is also dock access for a small flats boat. Experience the charm of these authentic conch houses and the beauty of the Florida Bay.

Beautiful and Relaxing

This is a real gem of a property. While it is not a large property, it is protected from the highway by a lockable gate and large rock/coral sound wall, and from the properties on either side by thick trees and vegetation. Opening out to the Gulf feels almost like you are alone on a tropical island.The two small houses are older, but well maintained and kept very clean. Host provides a large array of "toys" -- a hot tub, kayaks, paddle boards, lounge chairs, even some sand-castle forms and such. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time here. Enjoyed going to the nearby Theater of the Sea, but otherwise the kids (15-22) all just wanted to hang out here.

Absolute Paradise

Having stayed at VRBO and other rental houses over the past 30 years, this rental is in my Top 2 favorites. I travel a lot and this was the perfect mix of privacy, serenity, relaxation, and beauty. The private beach and entry to the bay is unheard of in a rental in the Keys. The kayaks were top quality; every amenity was provided; and the jacuzzi jets were some of the most powerful I have ever experiemced.The landscaping is simply over the top beautiful and feels like you have walked into a 5 star reaort. I hope to spend as much time as they will allow me to here in the future. I am truly blown away about every feature of this property! Thank you!

Perfect getaway

I cannot say enough good things about this property. Our family loved it here. Having the 2 homes and the fenced in yard worked out great since we travel with our dogs. When we pulled in, we were amazed at the beautiful setting and the view. We hired a local photographer and had family pictures taken there. They turned out perfect. We enjoyed the views, kayaked, grilled fresh seafood and relaxed. The homes had everything we needed. We got to see starfish, dolphins and more.

Perfect Private Getaway

Everything was as pictured but better, we loved having the private beach to ourselves. There is plenty of provided water activities to explore the water. We found a manatee and baby in canal next door. There are tons of iguanas on the property. The property is immaculate! Great place for beautiful photos. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect Vacation

We are hoping to come back to this place! I stayed here with my family and a friend and the two smaller homes on the property gave us each our own space. The homes were both very clean, superb cleanliness, and we found the beds to be comfortable as well. We appreciated that extra towels were provided in each house. The property managers were friendly, very quick and responsive in the process of renting. The landscaping of the property was stunning and it really is a little hidden oasis. I recommend arriving during daylight or the oasis of lush landscaping will look a bit daunting in the dark. During the day, it looks like a resort with all the palm trees providing plenty of shade but opening up on the beach area for some beautiful sunsets. I only wish I had brought my hammock! My pup had the best time frolicking in the private beach and chasing all lizards outside! The property appears fenced in but I do have a dog that doesn’t wander far from me. Our only minor issue was the neighbors in campers that were loud a few times during the day and there seemed to be a draft of marijuana smell from them as well at times. We realize it is out of control of the property managers as it was the neighbors and it was only a minor annoyance. It will not prevent us from returning to this amazing rental!

Amazing

This place is beautiful. Words and pictures don't do it justice. We had so much fun exploring the property and discovering all kinds of creatures and sea life. We felt like we were in Heaven. We would have like a few more bowls for serving but other than that, it was perfect. We will be back. The beach area was so perfect for kids. I want to bring my grandbabies here someday.

Paradise

This property is amazing. The 2 houses are small and quaint but adequately equipped to meet all your needs. The private beach cannot be beat. We brought our boat but spend more time kayaking and snorkeling from the private beach. Our lab was just as happy as the humans. She loved the beach and chasing mini fish. The sunsets are breathtaking and the hot tub refreshing and relaxing. The grounds are well maintained and private. The property manager was fantastic. We had an issue with our boat trailer on the way out and Diane and John were there to help in any way they could. Thank you for an amazing stay. We just found our new favorite spot in the Keys.

Great location and easy check in

The location of this property is excellent! It was also exactly as described. Check in and communications very easy. Homes were clean and well-maintained. Your own private beach with lots of lawn chairs and loungers to use as well as the use of two children’s kayaks, and a larger kayak for two adults. Very highly recommend!

Great for divers

Perfect setup for a dive trip. We had a smaller boat we could pull up to the floating dock. The pathway made loading equipment a breeze. The kids enjoyed the beach and kayaks.

Perfect Setting

My son and I visited for his birthday weekend The property is beautiful with several places to sit and enjoy the water The grounds are well maintained and you will find many interesting additions to the gardens if you take the time to look The private beach is a welcome addition We knew that going in January would limit our activity in the water but not the view which was spectacular While there were only 2 of us, we used both houses My son is a night owl and I am a morning person The beds were comfortable and the houses had everything we needed While we didn’t venture out in the kayaks, we did enjoy the hot tub Our only regret is we couldn’t stay longer but we look forward to a return visit

Even Better than Expected!!

Its paradise! Incredible property! We chose to stay here instead of the Cheeka and we're ALL so glad we did!! Its like arriving on a movie set- Indiana Jones or Jurassic Park! The grounds are enchanting and delightful! The one bedroom is kind of the main house- just a bit better appointed and more spacious. The two bedroom "clubhouse" is a tighter fit. We ended up staying in the two bedroom with our grown son and gave the one bedroom to a friend who was traveling with us because that's what made sense for our family. If it had been us and just our boys, I would have put them in the clubhouse and my husband and I in the main house. You could definitely do 3 couples comfortably. Every morning we had our coffee outside. We took the kayak out every chance we got (there's a 2 person and 2 kid's size). We used the hot tub a couple times- what a treat after a day of snorkeling or fishing! Oh my gosh- I would stay here again in a heartbeat! We were definitely sad to leave. Communication was fast and the property managers were very responsive.

A return to the Nostalgic and Beautiful Florida Keys!

Having grown up in South Florida, the Florida Keys (The Keys) have always been a part of our family lifestyle going back generations. This property has taken a beautiful waterfront wide lot, added a sand beach (a rare find) and brought back the nostalgia in renovating two cottages and landscaping that made a stay in The Keys a special experience. We live in Miami and The Keys have been our number one escape for a taste of Paradise (aka Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville). Over the years the developments have tried to capture this vibe and have been successful to a certain degree. But the experience of having your own private slice of Paradise became harder to find. Upon seeing this new listing, it showed potential based on the location (known to us) and the photos showing the renovated cottages and landscaping. Upon arrival the first afternoon and night (on one of the coldest days in 40-50 years) we found it actually exceeded expectations! Our following 8 days, including 3 with unseasonably cold weather, we enjoyed every day and night with the views of stunning sunsets and the the calming bayside waters! Even the cold weather only enhanced our stay (luckily for only a few days) until the heat and sunshine returned and the water activities began with joy. The property management made sure we had excellent instructions on everything from checking in, to use of the amenities. Even during the height of the holidays they were available if needed. The location is a short drive (relatively speaking if you have never driven to Key West especially at the height of the holiday season)from Miami. There are plenty of places to eat, participate in various water activities and visit the many places that attract people to the Keys. Key West is a beautiful drive with the opportunity to see the Atlantic Ocean meet the Gulf of Mexico crossing the Seven Mile Bridge. Unfortunately, this property has already become popular with our friends and family that stopped by to visit. It will mean booking early, but the reward is taste of the nostalgia that made, and still makes The Keys a destination for so many. The tropical essence begins upon arrival and lasts through your HAVING to leave, because no one, including the adults, children or dogs ever want to!
