We are on Historical Short 7th Avenue located across from Bird Dog Cafe (featured on HGTV Hometown), and close to numerous specialty shops and restaurants! We are in walking distance to all of downtown Laurel, the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art and beautiful historic homes on the avenues! Park, walk, eat and shop without having to search for parking! It is important to us that your stay here is a very memorable one! We do our best to treat our guests with Southern Hospitality! We provide all you’ll need to have a memorable stay. Kitchen is equipped with a full coffee bar, and snacks are provided as well. We are open to special requests for any special occasion- birthdays, anniversaries or just a fun “girls trip”! Just let us know and we’ll make it happen. You’re sure to enjoy your stay!

Anniversary getaway

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary. It was very clean and well maintained. Perfect location to downtown . Definitely recommend this place

Perfect cottage

This little house is the absolute best. There was nothing we were lacking. Sometimes we get lost in our large home. This house is absolutely perfect. I enjoyed my time with husband here. Thank you so much for opening your little piece of heaven and sharing it with us. We were able to walk around to eat and sightsee. We will definitely stay here again!

Great property and great location

This was our second stay at this property and we loved it both times. It is nicely furnished (the beds are super comfy) and has great extras like snacks, bottled water, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The host is easily reached by call or text. We would highly recommend it for your stay in Laurel.

Fabulous!

This is the cutest cottage! So cozy and comfortable. Everything you need was provided. It felt like home. Very clean and close to everything we had planned to do. The porch swing is an added plus! Tina is a great host and so easy to communicate with. She even allowed us to stay the next day because it was available. Which was nice to be able to come back and rest between shopping and tours and before our trip back home. I would definitely stay here again.

Quick work trip

We had to stay one night in Laurel for work, and wanted 2 beds 2 baths, the cottage was lovely! Perfect comfortable and clean. We walked to town for dinner. Would stay again!

Lovely Laurel

So glad I finally got to visit Laurel. What a cute town and this charming cottage was the perfect place to stay. Great location to be able to walk to downtown and loved having the Bird Dog across the street. Delicious cocktails. The house is beautifully decorated and my husband and I loved each having our own bathroom. I would highly recommend!

Such an adorable cottage

Perfect place for a girls weekend. Such an adorable, cozy cottage with very comfortable beds and furniture. There was even bottled water, coffee pods, and snacks, including Ben’s favorite Moon Pies. Laurel’s boutiques and restaurants are wonderful. Hostess was great in communicating even though she was in the process of moving. Highly recommend!

Great Getaway

What a delightful place to stay while visiting Laurel. The cottage was well appointed, walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go and on a quiet street across from the Bird Dog Cafe and Blue Crab. The host was great from booking through checkout and even provided some small snacks and coffee options. It was perfect for 2 couples - and great for our family getaway. Highly recommend this cottage when you get to Laurel.

A Relaxing & Comfortable Stay

This was a very enjoyable weekend stay at a historic cottage for my husband and I as we were coming to town for a wedding. Adorable cottage size that fit us perfectly. Communication was excellent with host. Cleanliness was excellent in cottage. Location was perfect for traveling everywhere. The Cafe across the street was an extra added benefit, along with the nice goodies that the host made available for us at the cottage! Definitely felt safe and cozy while staying there. We hope to stay there again in the future when our travels bring us back that direction!

Wonderful cozy cottage!

Mayhaw cottage was so enjoyable we didn’t want to leave! We felt totally welcomed and relaxed as soon as we walked through the door. Location was great we could easily walk to downtown shops. If we make the trip to Laurel again we would choose to stay at Mahaw for sure! Thanks Tina

Perfect location- close to downtown Laurel

This lovely cottage is within 0.3 mile to everything in downtown Laurel. You can easily walk to restaurants, shopping etc. Bird Dog Cafe is directly across the street. The cottage is nicely appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I will mention that the WiFi signal is a little weak in the front bedroom and on the porch. We had a lovely stay and look forward to visiting Laurel again

The cottage was perfect - exactly as pictured - charming, cute, comfortable, clean, &. convenient to downtown Laurel. Check-in & checkout were very easy, and communication with the owner was excellent. The information about the town was very helpful. We enjoyed our visit, especially lunch at Cafe Le Fleur, dessert at Lee's Coffee & Tea, and shopping at the Laurel Leaf, Patina's, & Bella Bella.

We stayed one afternoon/morning on the way to the beach. House was clean, everything worked as it should and was in a great location. If I had any negative it would be that the beds weren’t as comfortable as we are use too, but that’s just a personal preference. All in all I recommend it 10/10.

Great little place!

A fabulous little cottage! Very comfortable and well decorated. The location can't be beat! Its right across the street from the Bird Dog Cafe and very close to downtown Laurel. My husband, daughter and I had a great weekend. and this cottage was a big part of it! We will definitely come back and would highly recommend Mayhaw Place to anyone!

Mayhaw Place is awesome!

Celebrated our 24th anniversary in Laurel. The cottage was perfect and the host were the nicest people you could ever want to meet. Walking distance of everything downtown town and a short drive to everything else. We enjoyed a glass of wine sitting in the porch swing every night. Best place to stay in Laurel.

Laurel has been my hometown since the age of 6, and I do love it here! Watching it grow, and seeing people fall in love with it is truly exciting!
Our cozy little cotage was built in 1905, and is adjacent to my husband's hair salon. He has been in the business for 24 years on this quaint little street; it was once called "Mayhaw Place". The Mayhaw Canning Company was located here in the historical warehouse district. There's so much history in our hometown! We can't wait to share it with you! It is our ultimate goal for you to walk through our doors and have the most "welcoming" experience, and leave wanting to come back!
