Welcome to Happy Honu! We think you'll love our beach vibe. This is a beach house that allows you plenty of privacy and space for the perfect getaway! Picture yourself relaxing on our cool deck which is nestled into a beautiful live oak tree, or take a nap on our screened in porch. The living room has plenty of seating for everyone. The entire living space is open concept which allows for fun gatherings, The kitchen has been beautifully remodeled with granite counters, a glass back splash and high-end cabinetry with soft close features. Storage for all your food is no problem, and the kitchen is fully stocked! Cozy up to the kitchen island on one of our four retro barstools or dine at the table which seats four. Hardwood flooring throughout makes for easy clean up!

This home has three bedrooms on the main floor with two full baths. The spacious primary bedroom has a brand new (2024) king mattress and a 50-inch flat screen smart TV. A California closet system provides ample space for all your clothes. There is an attached bathroom with a full tub/shower combo.

The second bedroom has a brand-new queen mattress and a 43-inch smart TV.

The third bedroom has a brand-new (2024) queen mattress with a 43-inch smart TV as well. The large hall bathroom has a shower/tub combo and houses a brand new for 2024, washer and dryer for your convenience.

Downstairs is a spacious room with two sets of bunk beds, three twins & one full size. A beautiful remodeled bathroom decorated in a nautical theme with granite top vanity and full tub/shower is here for you as well. Watch your favorite movies on a new flat screen, smart TV

The covered carport has additional entertaining space with a full size table, swing and additional seating. In the garage you will find four beach bikes & a beach wagon. There is room in the driveway to park four vehicles.

The backyard is completely fenced in, so you don't have to worry about your four legged family members! There is a park style charcoal grill. You are very close to the Kure Beach pier and several restaurants.

We feel certain that this is the beach house you will return to again and again with your family & friends!

Perfect Vacation Home!

It is close enough to the beach to walk, and far enough away to avoid the busy traffic. Perfectly situated within a few blocks to a nice park and disc golf area. Very quiet neighborhood!! Short walk to the beach!

We loved our stay at this cute little house. Short walk to beach, boardwalk and restaurants. Very clean and plenty of room for our family of 6. Pet friendly and even has a fenced in yard out back. Will definitely stay there again!

Great House For Your Family

What a perfect house for a beach vacation with your family. The balcony had a gate above the stairs making it perfect to keep the kids up while you lounged out in the sun. Everything you could want to do was easily walkable. My family had an amazing time staying here!

House needs a deep cleaning, it’s a pet friendly house but not cleaned at all, lots of dogs hair everywhere, house was full of mosquitoes and definitely had bed bugs. It’s a beautiful house with perfect floor plan and beautiful kitchen but needed a good deep cleaning

Amazing House and Location!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here with children/grandchildren and had a fantastic time! The house was spotless which is so nice to find upon arrival! We loved that the home was within walking distance to a dog park and the beach! Kure is a little quieter than Carolina which is just what we were looking for. Will definitely stay here again....it was wonderful!!!

Hidden Gem

Wonderful place to escape w family. It’s clean and well appointed. Just note there are ALOT OF STEPS. My dad has Parkinson’s and it was tough going up and down the steps to the 1st level floor and to go outside from the deck. Other than that the Happy Honu was wonderful.

Great Home and Amazing Location

The description on the ad does not do this place justice. It was in a great location, lots of room and really made out vacation comfortable. Really enjoyed the area below the main deck for that extra relax time. Also met a few of the neighbors and all were friendly.

Our annual Memorial Weekend

Property was beautiful lots of room for everyone!! We especially liked the outdoor area with the picnic table. We rode the bikes and I realized the saying like riding a bicycle doesn’t apply to me!!!! Would definitely book again.

Perfect stay!

Our group of 9 had a great time at the Happy Honu! This house was perfect for our 2 families. The location was fantastic, just a quick walk to the beach. The bikes and beach wagon were a great touch. The house was one of the cleanest we’ve stayed in in 10 years of coming to the beach.

July 2023 Stay

We had a great stay at Happy Honu! It was a clean, well maintained, comfortable space for our two families to enjoy! The only complaint is the primary bedroom bed is uncomfortable, but even with that, we would absolutely stay here or in other A1 properties again!!

Great location, great vibe

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was really great for our extended family of 7 with a few beds to spare, especially b/c it came with three full baths and an outdoor shower (with warm water). The space was ideal for cooking as a group, eating, playing games (lots of games to choose from) and visiting Wilmington and other areas of interest. We enjoyed biking around town, walking the pier (there's a pelican that comes to get dinner each night straight out of the hands of the fisherman whose catch is too small to keep), walking the boardwalk, shopping at the artisan market by the pier and the various restaurants to choose from. Not that they are a guarantee but there were several beach chairs, wagon, boogie boards and other water toys for people to use in the garage. We did not rent the golf court so we walked easily to the beach with the wagon and biked around for fun. We had two issues that needed to be attended by the property management and they were both handled really quickly. One was even on Friday just as they were closing. The two things to keep in mind if you book Happy Honu -- there are a lot of flies around (likely the entire area), so keep garbage can lids closed (they get a citation and don't pick up your trash apparently) and outdoor food picked up quickly. The second is that the showers definitely do not allow for two people to shower at once without it affecting the water, so stagger showers.

Dive into Relaxation at Happy Honu!

It is spacious and well-appointed, with an overall ambiance that was inviting and relaxing. With a fully equipped kitchen, a grill in the backyard, and a nearby fish market, we had everything we needed to make some amazing seafood dinners for our family. The real gem of the house might be the screen porch with its inviting day bed -- great for reading and having morning coffee, taking an afternoon nap while enjoying the sea breeze and sound of ocean waves, or serving up some evening cocktails. We love that we were able to bring our dog with us. The fenced in backyard made it super easy and secure to have her there. While many NC beaches do not allow dogs on the beach during the summer, Kure Beach's new policy of allowing dogs on the beach before 9 am and after 5 pm was a fantastic was awesome to be able to take our dog for early morning and early evening walks on the beach. The large outdoor shower at the house is another great amenity. There is just an indescribable allure to an invigorating outdoor shower after a day on the beach! It also made it super easy to get our dog squeaky clean after playing on the beach.The beach is just a short walk from the house. It is beautiful and wide which makes it great for long walks. Beyond the beach, there were plenty of other activities to enjoy. We embarked on a couple of hikes during our stay. The Basin Trail at Fort Fisher was especially beautiful, as were the trails at Carolina Beach State Park. We took advantage of the golf cart add on, which made exploring the area even more fun! Whether we were checking out different sunset spots, navigating over to the pier and boardwalk (which is super cool!), checking out restaurants/bars, it made getting around a fun adventure. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Happy Honu to anyone seeking a

The Happy Honu was the perfect fit as each party had their own bedroom and only two had to share a bathroom. The kitchen was amazing and very well equipped. The screened deck was a favorite place, and it was great to enjoy your morning coffee on the deck when the sun was rising. Close (walking distance) to everything in KB. The house was clean and in very good condition.

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful stay at Happy Honu.. the house was clean and the location was close to everything, could walk to seafood restaurant and pier if you wanted to.. also close to a park for kiddos.. would definitely recommend this home away from home!

Family spring break

We had an absolutely amazing time during our stay at Happy Honu. The house was exactly as listed if not better. It was clean, spacious and only a 5 minute walk to the beach & Kure Pier. The beach chairs/toys were an added bonus. We’d definitely stay again!! I would give it 6 stars if I could. The only item on our wishlist would be an air fryer.
