This cozy 1 bedroom 1 bath cottage is located at East Boston Quarry. The Kittredge Cottage is one of three cottages currently available for weekly stays at East Boston Quarry. With full view of the quarry and a screened in porch this is the perfect getaway for someone, or a couple seeking solitude and comfort on the island. There is a full kitchen with conventional oven, microwave, refrigerator, as well as a full bathroom. (note: there is video surveillance at driveway entrance [Ring camera])

Kittridge cottage surpassed all my expectations. The pictures did not do it justice. The craftsmanship and interior decorating of the cottage were very pleasing and well done. The unique setting on a quarry enhanced, our stay immensely. This was our first trip to Vinalhaven, and we found it extremely peaceful, relaxing and scenic. After being out and about on the island it was a pleasure to have Kitridge cottage welcome us home. Highly recommend!

We had a most wonderful stay at the Kittredge Cottage the location was perfect and every aspect of the stay was in the highest order. Very peaceful and very well kept, certainly a enjoyable stay. Many thanks.

Totally unique and great experience.

The Kittredge, Enoch, and Bodwell cabins are all located in a former granite quarry on an island in Penobscot Bay. Our family group rented all three and loved it. The cabins have tons of character and arenset up with grills, picnic tables, full kitchen, laundry, towels for swimming in the spring fed quarry. You have to see it to believe it.

The description said it had a double bed, and the pictures show a double bed, but it had two twins. The heat did not stay on when we first arrived and had a hard time warming the building during the day, but was fine through the night. They have a window shutter or something that constantly slams/bangs or open/closes in the wind during our stay. We only stayed one night. Thank youJustin

Beautiful Property, listing needs updating

The biggest issue with our stay is that the listing said the property sleeps 3, with one bedroom and a sofa sleeper. My co-worker and I arrived late in the evening tired and ready for bed only to find that the property has no sofa sleeper, and just one double bed. I am an older woman, and I can not sleep on a couch. The property manager brought me a cot, which was better than the couch... but still... a cot. If you are one person or a couple who doesn't mind a cozy bed, this is a great little spot. Clean and new and quiet and a lovely setting. But this property does not sleep 3. We were mislead by the listing.

The listing has already been updated to reflect that there is no sleep sofa and the property sleeps 2. This was a mistake on the original listing and certainly not intended to mislead anyone. We are sorry for the mistake and did our best to remedy to the situation by immediately responding and bringing over a cot at 8:30 PM.

Great spot to stay and Jack, the host, is helpful and communicative. I highly recommend. Swimming in the quarry was a high point.

It's a piece of paradise. Its very private and it has everything you need. We will definitely be back. Everyone is so nice and the house we stayed in was perfect.

Cute cottage hideaway

Communication with the property manager was excellent throughout. Very cute cottage tucked away from it all but a short walk to get downtown. We walked into town every night for dinner. Sitting out by the water having coffee and watching the birds was very relaxing and the stargazing at night was amazing! Definitely would look to book again next time we are on the island!
