Family Reunion Vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were generally pleased with our vacation, rental property and management staff. There were several maintenance issues that were not resolved during our vacation.

Fabulous house right on the beach

The house has everything a large family group of all ages could need or want. The pool, the movie theater, the game room, the multiple kitchens and multiple washer/dryers and dishwashers made cooking and cleaning a snap. The views from all sides of the house are spectacular; sunset over the sound and endless beach and sky over the ocean. The third floor great room was our dining, game playing and congregating space. The house was spotlessly clean and the rental agency responded to our requests promptly. Best family vacation we ever took. One negative: Saturday is “turnover day” and the road onto the Outer Banks and on the OB is terrible congested. Adds hours to the trip.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great Home - have rented it many times before with previous owners and their listing rental agency. Great stay and great time had by all. Well-equipped home. Many Fixes/Improvements made from last year (TVs, Ice Maker, Umbrellas,grill...) Location on Hicks Bay - guarantees beach to your yourself - given single row of all ocean front homes only. Home was Clean and in Very Good Shape. The Overall Transaction with Coast Realty - was very smooth and very professional

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very Good, Positive, Professional Service Experience Provided by the Coast Team. Always quickly responding to my questions. House was in great shape - had all required - including some improvements from last year. Have rented this property 8 times in the last 10 years. Location is great with - just the oceanfront homes using the beach Note: The TV in the Tiki Bar - was not Functional - so I had one delivered from Walmart - we set it up outside and streamed. One other item to note - is that the House This year had Bikes - so the ones we rented were not necessary. The added Daily Beach Setup and Tear down this year was appreciated. The move tis year from Sun to Sun - to Sat to Sat rental Period - was difficult given much more Traffic Great Time had by all

The property was good but, did not meet our value expectations - not as nice for the price we paid.Positives - great location on Corolla (easy access to beach), spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, nice great and large family room with views of the beach, theater room was great for our teenage kids, multiple ice machines including pool area, and garage converted to workout room.Negatives - Pool is a little tired and needs updating (pillar tiles fell into the pool and pool ground area during our stay). House is a little tired (floors and cabinets worn out). We had to bring and buy pool towels, hair dryers (host did not know there were more than one on the property), had to bring/buy our own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. For families traveling to Otter Banks with limited baggage space, these are items the house can easily provide.

Regarding the amenities you mentioned, beach towels are not commonly provided in vacation rentals in our market, and this is noted in our listing. Personal toiletries, such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, are also typically the responsibility of guests to bring, much like they would for most vacation rentals. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue to evaluate ways to enhance the guest experience. Love OBX

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been going to OBX since 1996. Heels in the Sand is absolutely amazing! The kitchen is very well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, cups, and wine glasses. We loved the the large island in the kitchen along with the large breakfast table. It gave us plenty of room to prep meals. The dining room table is very large and worked well with our group. The room on the middle floor with the pool table and bar was used nightly. Also on the middle floor is a desk and chair for some of our group who had to work a bit. All the bathrooms were very nice and clean - just a note - there is only 1 bath towel per person, so the ladies with long hair just brought an extra towel. The pool area had plenty of Adirondack chairs and lounge chairs. And there are quite a few umbrellas if you need shade. We all liked that the pool gets deeper in the middle - the twin house next door, Ritz Palm, is flat and only 3 feet deep all the way across - so we were better able to swim in this pool. We could not get the sound system to work, but the 30 year olds brought speakers and just hooked them up to their phones. The house is huge - there is plenty of space to chill or read. Overall, the house is very well appointed and very well maintained. We definitely plan to return.
