It was the prefect place away from the hustle and bustle but yet close enough to enjoy all the local surrounding trails, fresh seafood and Acaicda.

Cozy well furnished little cottage with beautiful views out the back.Well equipped kitchen, spotlessly clean house, comfortable bed, well located between Stonington and Deer Isle.A relaxing vacation spot!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this cottage. We liked the vintage/ salvage/ atelier vibe and the huge windows really did steam in the sunshine. The access to kayaks was a nice amenity and the close proximity to both the burnt cove market and sand beach was a definite plus. Hiking on Isle au haut is a must do as is a visit to the settlement Quarry preserve.

Perfect Stay in Stonington

Very tastefully decorated cottage close to Stonington, located on a pretty tidal cove. Very quiet and peaceful place to stay.

Beautiful cottage in a stunning locatiob

We had a great stay. Loved the cottage, the location, and the area. Barbara was very communicative and gave us lots of great recommendations. We were there for 4 nights but could have happily stayed longer!

What a lovely, sun-filled, aesthetically pleasing, well-appointed, comfortable, small (but feels spacious) house, with lovely views from the many windows! Perfect for a couple! We were there in mid May, before tourist season begins, so not many restaurants or galleries open yet. Our host was attentive and available for advice regarding hikes, etc.

Perfect Anniversary Stay

This was the perfect little house to stay in for our anniversary trip to Maine. Everything was stocked and clean and very thought out. Barbara was a great host and gave all the recommendations for the area. Will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful stay!

My wife and I only stayed one night since we had lots of stops on our journey up the coast of Maine. We both loved the property and views. It was clean and comfortable and we had a great time! It is marked on our list of places that we will stay longer on our next visit!

Sunlit Cottage on Crockett Cove

We loved our stay at this cottage. Barbara is a wonderful host who supplies you with a wealth of information about the area. It's a beautiful location with amazing views of Crockett cove. It was our first time to Deer Isle, the cottage is fantastic place to explore this incredible area. We look forward to coming back!

PERFECT COTTAGE!!

Absolutely loved my stay in this beautiful cottage. Barbara is the Best Host that I have had the pleasure to deal with. This cottage has everything I needed or wanted. Location was great and I loved watching the tide coming in and out. This place is the BEST!!!

The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed to cook in and relax. We were well placed to explore the island. We had a change in plans and Barbara was more than accommodating in making the change and ensuring that we were reimbursed for the change. Highly recommend.

Tuning Out to Recharge

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heron Cottage. The house is clean, cozy, and well-apportioned, with a gracious host. Barbara offered many tips of things to do in the area, and the bottle of wine and fresh flowers for us in the cottage were special touches.

Perfection

Great setting. Very comfortable. Everything you need is provided. We loved our stay! Stonington proper is very quaint and picturesque. We hiked every day and ate lobster / seafood . Favorite evening was spent with Captain Charlie on Bugaboo for an island tour! Great guy Great tour!!

Quiet retreat close to nature explorations

Barbara was a wonderful host. The description of the property was accurate. Words can not capture the tranquility and comfort of Heron Cottage. A great location to explore the Isle au Haute and Stonington. The cottage was clean, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend Heron Cottage. We hope to return.

Coastal Maine Heaven

We absolutely loved our stay. The cottage is an artfully light, relaxing, well thought out space. It overlooks a salt marsh and meadow. The birds and fireflies were amazing. Also loved Deer Isle. Great hikes, fresh lobster. Low key and allows you to really relax. Barbara and Wylie were the perfect hosts. Highly recommend.

Perfect

This home is the perfect private resting place for a vacation - one could easily never leave the property enjoying the collection of books, games, well equipped kitchen and view of the lupins and water. It is only minutes away from Aragosta’s fine dining, magical hikes including the Barred Island Preserve sandbar and Stonington’s mail boat to Isla Haut. We would love to return!

Sweet getaway

Sweet cottage in a beautiful, serene location. Barbara, our host, left no detail undone. We were greeted by a personal note and special touches, beautiful vases of fresh wildflowers, a fun selection of reading materials and lots of great local suggestions. We hope to return to the area again and would not hesitate to rent Barbara’s beautiful cottage.
