Family Annual Summer Get Away

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented in Beachwalk for 21 years. It is the perfect family vacation spot for all ages. This was our first time in this cottage as we had fewer family members this year. We loved being on Lake Kai Ain’t Life Grand was a comfortable house for the most part. The spiralStaircase in the main room made moving around the couch difficult. The freezer wasn’t working. The toilet paper holders were not secured into the wall and the drain plug in the tub didn’t close. Plenty of kayaks and life jackets Nice fire pit The kitchen had everything we needed just had to hunt for things as drawers were not too organized by items. Bunk room in the basement was great for the young kids. The steps up and down had narrow treads so it was difficult for the older adults to go up and down. All in all we were on vacation and didn’t sweat the small stuff. Very little parking at the cottage and we had to move the golf cart for garbage pickup which the renter before apparently hadn’t done as the cans were full when we arrived and garbage pick up wasn’t until 5 days later. We will be back and probably will rent a different place. Staff was terrific Snack bar a plus. Pool was clean

The house needs a good vacuuming. Spider webs all over screened in porch, window sills, blinds and vents are full of dust.

Excellent home for a diverse group

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the second year we have stayed at Ain't Life Grand and we have enjoyed this home tremendously. From its nice location on Lake Kai and excellent proximity to the pool and clubhouse, to the included golf cart that makes getting to the beach a breeze, this home is great. It is well appointed with plenty of dishes, glasses, silverware and cooking utensils as well as pots and pans. The different sleeping areas accomodated our group of 11 wonderfully- including 6 adults and 5 children ranging from 3-14. We love it here and plan to return!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I'll preface this review by saying that we LOVE Beachwalk and the management team. We are former owners and have stayed in at least six different properties in the community. Sadly, this home really missed the mark.The Good:The location is great. Lake Kai views are special.If you're creative, you can park three cars at the house (which is rare)Included golf-cart was nice.The main level master suite was great for my 80 year-old parents.The kitchen is well designed and appointed.The Bad:The house had a TON of deferred maintenance.Towel bars were falling off and slow draining showers.The outdoor walkways are aged and have splinters.The outdoor chairs and cheap plastic, and cracked.Most of the cabinets/handles need adjustments.There's no dining table on the main floor other than the porch.The upstairs king mattress should have been retired 10 years ago.The closets are full of random items in piles.The REALLY bad.The 'bunk room' - where you'd presumably put your kids has no egress window...and is attached to the utility room with a gas water heater and furnace. To make it worse, there was no CO detector to be found on the lower level. We were shocked when we arrived.As a former owner, I know it's hard to keep up with everything - but this house needs some serious TLC.

Exceeded our expectations!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed a week long family vacation here in June. 6 adults and 6 children ages 4-13. The house was clean and had plenty of space for all of us to enjoy. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes to prepare meals. We enjoyed coffee and family dinners on the porch and ended each night around the firepit. It was such a convenient location and a short walk to the new playground, pool, bocce, and Lake Michigan. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.

Perfect Large House For Family Time Together

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Ain't Life Grand is in a perfect location on Lake Kei. The house is a short walk from the pool, tennis court, fishing dock, and activity center. It is also convenient to have a golf cart, kayaks and swimming equipment/life-jackets included in the rental. The house had all of the amenities that you expect from a rental facility plus many additional ones. The only complaint resulted from a lack of closet space for hanging clothes, due to the owner using some of them for their personal storage. This was only a minor disadvantage for some of the adults. I recommend Ain't Life Grand for a perfect get-together place in the Beachwalk community.

The home was in a great location, very spacious for the 10 of us and well maintained. We loved being right on the lake and having access to our own kayaks. Highly recommend!

Beautiful house wonderful stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is perfect! We had 8 ladies and were celebrating a birthday! This house has everything you could want or need! Clean, beautiful, on the water, great fire pit, kayaks, short walk to the pool, close to New Buffalo! The beds were all so comfortable, kitchen well stocked! We had a blast! Can’t wait to come back! I highly recommend to anyone! Great friends weekend or a week with your family! Sleeps so many! Book and enjoy!

The 2 bedroom area there couldn’t be slept in. -Fairly spacious when you compare pictures online to real world

Bathrooms were nice and spacious as well (however be sure to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash as the rental does not provide). The front desk staff was incredibly kind and helpful. I can’t wait to go back!

Great house and lovely location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented homes in the Beachwalk community for over 6 years now, and Ain't Life Grand has to be in the top 2 of favorite houses! It has a great layout, with different spaces for people to hang out, sleep, eat, etc. The sleeping accomodations are wonderful, lots of space for the kids ( we had 7 kids total) and adults had comfortable beds as well. We liked the fact that we were on Lake Kai and had our own kayaks at the house (HUGE upgrade!) and we could kayak right from the boardwalk by our house. The firepit was perfect for nighttime fires. Lots of extra towels and blankets, and great water pressure in the showers.The included golf cart was perfect for getting us with all our gear to the beach. And the home was located pretty close to the pool and clubhouse so that was awesome as well! Overall, this home is fantastic and we would rent it again!
