Quaint, historic schoolhouse on three acres, and firepit by a bold stream, and with a nicely furnished pergola deck including gas grill. All this on a road with several wineries...one close enough to be walkable (with care)! So much history and recreation in the immediate area, you will be overwhelmed with all there is to do in the time you will visit.

The place was in very good condition well maintained. Communication was very good as well so we knew what to expect. All around no complaints. And it is a place we would gladly go back to.

A lot of great things to do in the area, home was very clean and accommodating. Stocked well to cook, very easy check in process. Very comfortable bed, cozy and relaxing inside, we enjoyed it even when it rained. Highly recommend.

Historic and private

This historic schoolhouse rental was very private and so well equipped. Close to Harper's Ferry National Park and many quaint small towns and wineries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

A Wonderful Getaway

Harpers Ferry Trip

Birthday surprise get away

The house was amazing. Spotless, comfortable,very quiet has every thing could want or need for your stay. Love the deck and the creek.Great host too! Explained everything that was need to make stay there wonderful.

Charming & Unique

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at this charming property. This converted schoolhouse was very well appointed, and provided all that we needed for a pleasant experience. We also had the opportunity to enjoy the fire pit by the stream one evening, and would highly recommend it .

I needed extra beds for a family visit, so we did not spend much time in the house. However, it is a very well stocked home if you want to cook. I slept in the Murphy bed, it was comfortable. I could imagine someone who needed to work/write could enjoy this just-the-right-size home. For its size, it feels spacious. Quiet, adorable, and close to so much. Owner communication was excellent! We will be back!

Spacious, immaculate, and comfortable

Very smooth check in process and communication before and after stay. Charming stone house with a stunning bathroom (awesome shower), state of the art kitchen, and cozy beds. We didn’t spend time on the back porch due to the weather, but it’s lovely. My family all gives the property a strong two thumbs up!

Great Stay...only wish we could have stayed longer!

We were in town to attend a family wedding and the historical schoolhouse was the perfect peaceful place for us to return to after long days out and about. Lynne was wonderful in communicating all the details we would need prior to check in and ensured we had no issues during our stay. The location feels like it's out in the peaceful countryside but it's not far from town, restaurants, shopping, etc. The house has been beautifully restored with all the modern conveniences. We would definitely stay again when we are visiting family in the area!

A relaxing getaway

This VRBO home could not have been any better! It was clean, cozy, comfortable, and well stocked with everything you can possibly need. The owner, Lynn, answered all of our questions and responded to our text messages quickly. She could not have been more helpful. Location is ideal close to wineries and great restaurants. we enjoyed the grill on the back deck as well as the relaxing creek and chairs around the fire pit We enjoyed our stay here so much. We are looking forward to going back again. I highly recommend this beautiful VRBO to anyone who is looking for a delightful and relaxing getaway.

We had an amazing time: the space was clean and as described, we were able to use their kitchen and grill with no hiccups, and the property was gorgeous including the fire pit near the creek and the back porch. Communication with host was direct and prompt. Even though there was a massive heatwave, the cabin stayed cool. Easy access from the property to vineyards, river swimming and tubing, and several small charming towns. Overall, wonderful stay.

The cottage was great, centrally located to several wonderful wineries. There are 3 in less than 2 miles away. We enjoyed the porch in the evening with comfortable cushions & solar powered lights. Kitchen was well appointed and bathroom was a great size. Everything was clean and well thought out. Highly recommend to others!

This great historic property serves as our home base to watch our newest grandson grow. We are especially partial to the natural beauty of Loudoun county and its active lifestyle. We are always seeking gorgeous sunsets, and love to hike and bike as well as take in the local history and wine scene.

It doesn't get much better than this location for close proximity to many adventures whether it be hiking a section of the Appalachian Trail, covering some miles on a bike or by foot on the W&OD trail, playing some video poker or slots in the Charlestown casino, visiting Harper's Ferry National Park, sipping some great local wine, beer, or whiskey, or tubing down the Shenandoah or Potomac rivers.
