My 2 complaints were that the listing says you can step right into the lake for fishing and that was misleading. The dock is not well kept and the boat ramp is the only place to get to the water but it’s concrete, steep and slippery. Secondly be very cautious if you have dogs or small children because it’s basically on a rocky cliff. The views of this house were spectacular and the house was very clean.

Wonderful experience! We are here for a weekend getaway, and we couldn't have asked for a better stay.We spent most of our time enjoying this comfortable and fascinating rock house, taking in the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and fishing from the private dock, all surrounded by stunning lake views and peaceful nature. We even caught two 20 lbs trophy catfish! In the morning, we spotted deer right outside our door, and throughout our stay, we saw so many different kinds of birds and chubby squirrels.If you enjoy wine, definitely explore the local wineries. The grape varieties here are quite different from Napa's, and the region's volcanic soils and unique microclimate create some really interesting wines, especially Pinot Noir and Blanc. The drive to Brassfield Estate Winery (an absolute must-visit!) was an adventure of its own. We spotted elk, wild turkeys, and other wildlife along the way.One more tip: take some time to read the book provided in the house. The history of Clear Lake is fascinating and adds so much more meaning to the experience. I honestly think its is an underrated destination with so much to offer.We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Wonderful getaway with our kids to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful views. Kids both loved catching big fish right off the dock - we spent all day down there hanging out. We stocked up on groceries before arriving and the house had everything we needed to cook and stay put. We also loved spotting birds around the area - so many! Very special family time! Thank you

Absolutely loved the location. Secluded with wonderful views and lots of local wildlife (quail, herons, egrets, eagles, osprey, otters, etc.). A well provisioned kitchen that easily handled our cooking needs. They thoughtfully provided an assortment of snacks, wine, and some bottled water (I'd recommend bringing some more water with you if you go in the summer).The only thing that was any issue was the tap water. We were there during a blue algae bloom in the lake so the water certainly had a smell to it (even the restaurants in Clearlake weren't serving water for the same reason). Some air freshener and scented hand sanitizer helped with that when taking showers and washing our hands.And the water filtration system purges itself automatically at 8 am every morning for 15 minutes. Sounded like a leaking tire and caught me off-guard the first morning. :)

Our rating is two mainly because we brought our bass boat, thinking it would be an easy drive from the cabin to the boat dock. We were told it was a 4-mile drive, but the owner didn’t warn us that going back and forth with a bass boat would be difficult and time-consuming; the owner knew the roads were narrow and winding. The location of the cabin is horrible when hauling a large bass boat; it's a very stressful and dangerous road. Owners need to add a note about their location and the accessibility of fishing access, as the pictures don't make it clear that you will be driving up a mountain. In addition, not everyone has time to read every single review. There needs to be more clarity or transparency about where their property is located. The dock is more like 6-8 feet high, and there is no way for a bass boat to tie up to the shallow water. The buoy may have worked if they had something you could swim to, but the property does not have that available. Pros:1.The property is comfortable,2. A lot of wildlife; beautiful outdoor setting,3. Gorgeous view of the lake, 4. Loved the coffee,5. Great if you are not planning to travel,6.Nice kitchen. Cons: 1. Not for a bass boat, 2.Not for wanting to explore the area,3.Have to drive up a mountain, more than two miles, 4. Dangerous mountain terrain, narrow and winding, 5.Near town, very sketchy, 6. Windows need covering; very dirty windows; 7. Couldn’t find the heater controls; it got cold a few nights. 8.No TV in living space

What an amazing place! We didn't know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. The property is off the beaten path and very quiet. Although you have neighbors nearby, it feels very secluded. When you walk in you're greeted by one of the prettiest vistas. You're high off the lake so you can see a 180 degree view of the beautiful lake. Private dock. The rooms and kitchen are very clean. Comfy beds. Washer & Dryer room. Plenty of parking. Would definitely stay here again.

A fantastic option for anyone looking for a quiet time in and around the clear lake area. The property has all of what you need, and nothing of what you don't. It's clearly well maintained--one of the best vacation rentals we've stayed in. We look forward to making a return trip.

This house has fantastic views and it’s very clean! It’s one of the cleanest house we have stayed in. The beddings and towels’ quality are very good and not scratchy. The host provided more than enough towels, complimentary snacks & wines as well as fishing equipment. The kitchen is also fully stocked with coffee and cooking condiments, with complete kitchen utensils. It is very quiet and peaceful. The view is amazing and we cannot wait to come back again! We would definitely be booking again, specially in the summer as the private fishing dock is convenient. It is in a safe and quiet neighborhood.

The view at the property was awesome. The cleanliness of property was not good, had both ants and knats. The city is very sketchy. This is fine if you plan on just staying at property.

Nice view

We came to work in Clearlake and it was a nice place to decompress. Saw a bald eagle catch a fish in the lake and deer along the drive to the property

Honestly I could see myself living at the property. It was modern, new, clean, comfortable, well appointed, offered incredible views of the lake, and felt remote when in all actuality we were very close to town. We loved fishing off the private pier and being able to bring our golden retriever along! We read reviews about the water smelling like sulfur but we didn’t experience it ourselves. The bed was comfortable, the showers hot, and I’ll be back!
