Newly Renovated 1 bed 1 bath Daylight Basement Apt - Great for Extended Stays!

Clean and comfortable 1 bedroom 1 bathroom basement apartment with private access in NE Portland. Convenient location with easy access to I5 and public transportation, and walking distance to the top-rated restaurants, bars and breweries of the Alberta Arts District, Williams Corridor, and Mississippi Avenue. Can accommodate up to 4 guests, with 2 in the private bedroom and 2 on the pull-out sofa, though this set up is more ideal for families with children than four adults.

The space
Our light-filled, one bedroom suite offers a private entrance for you to come and go as you please. We are conveniently and centrally located in the King neighborhood of NE Portland, a block from a brewery and natural grocery store, 3 blocks from food carts, and very near the Alberta Arts district, Williams corridor, and Mississippi Avenue. There are many excellent restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and public transportation all within walking distance from our home.

Our space was remodeled in 2021. It has all the amenities a traveler would need. The bedroom has a queen size bed with memory foam mattress, as does the pull-out sofa in the living room. The living room has a smart TV, games, and books. A washer/dryer can be found in the bedroom closet. High speed wifi can be accessed throughout the apartment.

The kitchen has an electric range and oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, fridge, and dining table for four. You'll find all the pots, pans and supplies to prep a homemade meal in the kitchen. It is stocked with cooking oil, spray oil, salt & pepper, saran wrap, and aluminum foil. A coffee maker is provided, as well as coffee and an assortment of teas and some snacks. A garbage can, recycling bag, and compost bin can be found under the sink, as well as a fire extinguisher if needed.

The apartment is on the basement level, separated from the upstairs by a locked door. It is possible to hear our footsteps above as well as the noises of our two young children. We try to be respectful of any noise. Guests have total privacy from home owners, but we are also happy to help with suggestions for experiencing Portland.

We welcome families with 1-2 young children. As parents of young children ourselves, we understand what it's like to travel with them! We have the following available upon request: Pack 'n Play, travel high chair, stroller, books, toys, and more. Send us a message with your child’s needs and we'll do our best to meet them.

This apartment is located in the basement of our home. The ceiling height is 7'1" in the majority of the basement, with one lower soffit that comes down to 6'7" in the middle of the main room.

We are travelers ourselves, and love to experience new places while staying in Airbnb’s. We’ve assembled this space to offer all the things we enjoy when we are guests. We hope you’ll love it too.

If you would like to book our place and it appears that the calendar is not open, please feel free to reach out - we are new at this and have only been opening it for a short range at a time so that we don't over-extend ourselves.
Guest access
The basement apartment is accessible through a private entrance on the south side of our home. It includes a private garden patio that is not utilized by the homeowners when guests are staying with us. There is a locked door separating the apartment from our laundry room - we only run this washer and dryer during daytime hours when guests are staying with us.

Other things to note
We live in the home above the basement unit with our two young children, Arlyn and Laurel. We observe quiet hours of 9pm to 7:30am, and expect you to do the same. During the day, it is common to hear children playing, running, or occasionally getting upset upstairs. We do our best to manage the noise - the basement unit is well insulated, and earplugs are available if needed - but our children do live here and it is common to hear their occasional noise.

In addition, our home was built in 1910, and while the basement was completely renovated in 2020, the occasional creak or crack when people are walking upstairs is to be expected.
