Loved the spacious kitchen and living room area. Bedroom above the main floor bedroom was rather noisy. We could hear every footstep; that was the only drawback. Good location. Close to town and all the amazing places to eat.

Thanks for flagging the noise from the upstairs bedroom too; we've shared that with our team to look into. We appreciate the honest feedback, and we'd love to welcome you back anytime.

Lovely home. Incredible amenities, especially in the kitchen. So many pots/pans/utensils, everything you need to cook and more. Great supply of towels and linens, and the pack n play was fantastic for our little one. Tough parking, but manageable!

I highly recommend this property for rental. I rented Sweetgum with my long time college friends for our 60th BDay get-together. The house was perfect and the sweet little town center of Black Mountain was a short 5 minute drive. The 4 bedrooms with many bed options was wonderful. The house was super clean, the porch was perfect for coffee in the morning, the dining room table served us well for dinners and our fun game nights. The living room was great too.Of course, one of the most important things about renting with AvantStay was that the communication was excellent. The check-in & checkout instructions were clear and whenever I had a question, I got an immediate response. Thank you.

A 60th birthday with longtime college friends sounds like exactly the kind of trip Sweetgum was made for — happy belated, and thank you for such a thoughtful review! We're so glad the four bedrooms gave everyone room to settle in, and it's wonderful to picture morning coffee on the porch and game nights around the dining table. Black Mountain's town center really is a treat to have just up the road. Thank you also for the kind words about our communication — knowing check-in was smooth and questions got answered quickly means a lot to our team. We'd love to welcome you and your friends back anytime.

This was a fantastic retreat. Everything was spotless and exactly as described. The host was very quick to respond to texts and made everything enjoyable and stress free. We had plenty of room to spread out. The screened deck was great for enjoying the beautiful views and relaxing around the fire pit. I would highly recommend this location.
