Lookout Summit retreat is the perfect place to relax with the whole family! Nestled in the woods atop Lookout Mountain in Fort Payne, you get the true cabin feel when staying here. You will be immersed in the outdoors while staying here! We are only 5 minutes away from Desoto State park, 15 minutes from Little River Canyon National Preserve, 10 minutes to BEAUTIFUL Desoto Falls, and right around the corner from the quaint town of Mentone. The cabin sleeps 6 people which includes an air mattress! Hurry and book your stay now!

Beauty - Quiet - Modern Rustic Luxury

A wonderful quiet setting that is convenient to Mentone and Fort Payne. This cabin more than exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful time. The only minor concerns were the kitchen cooking utensils were minus a couple things; cutting board (we couldn't find one) and cutting knives. The grill outside might need and upgrade soon. These are just recommendations.Thanks for making our weekend wonderful! We've stayed in multiple cabins in this area and this is our favorite!

Awesome place to stay!

Getaway in the woods

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was as described. We were close enough to town for supplies but far enough away to really enjoy being in the mountains. Communication was excellent and we were given recommendations on things to do and places to eat which is really helpful.

Thanksgiving

Everything was perfect with this beautiful cabin, we cooked Thanksgiving dinner and had everything we needed except a few items i remembered to bring. We will definitely stay here again the next time we want to get away.

Beautiful property, great location

Property was clean and well stocked with extras. Plenty of extra towels, sheets, pillows, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. The only thing missing was something to use as a chip clip for open bags of snacks but there was a roll of tape in the drawer so all needs were met! The location is perfect. The Citadel boulders were a great surprise. We enjoyed exploring. We would choose this property again.

Great Location

We have stayed here several times and always find it comfortable and clean. We attend a horse competition several times a year in Rainsville and the location is very convenient. We have stayed at a few other VRBO homes in the area, but this one is our favorite.

Perfect getaway house

This house could not have been more perfect. It was close to so many cool things. Just a short drive to Ruby falls and rock city. All the waterfalls around here are amazing to go see. The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything you need! Which is a huge plus to my family i highly recommend this house and the host was very good in communication!

Amazing cabin

Beautiful cabin in a great location. The owners were very helpful and had great recommendations on food and places to go see. The cabin is great, in an amazing location close to both DeSoto State Park and Mentone

No attention to detail

Trash can had been overturned and trash was scattered. Oven was fithy and did not work. Grill was filthy. Spiderwebs and debris all over outside areas. We enjoyed the quiet and the area. Will definitely come back to Fort Payne area

Beautiful Property

This property is absolutely beautiful. The cabin had everything we could possibly need. It is as spacious and clean. It felt like it was nestled among the trees. We could not have asked for a better experience. Our hosts were wonderful. They were open to communication and answered all my questions quickly. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for relaxation and beauty.

Beautiful cabin, well decorated and with high quality couches and bedding. Feels roomy even with a larger group! Perfect location- close to shops, restaurants and DeSoto State Park and Little River Canyon. We’ll be back!!

Home away from home

4th of July Family Vacation

This property is very inviting and in a nice and relaxing part of the mountain near Fort Payne. The beds are very comfortable and it easily accomodated our group for the 3 days we were there. There are many things to do around this area and would recommend anyone looking for for a great place to stay near Fort Payne and the surrounding area to stay at. The hosts were very in touch with us through out our whole stay providing recommedations and things to do. Would definitely stay here again.

Girls yearly June Jam Trip

Beautiful cabin, well appointed and clean. Gorgeous views ! Great location , not far from Desoto Falls, Little River Canyon, and Fort Payne. Responsive hosts, easy checkin. We had an amazing time and are looking forward to spending our next Alabama vacation here!

Nice Comfortable Place

The property is located on a heavily wooded site and is close to an area that looks over the valley. The house is laid out well and is comfortable. We have stayed there a few times attending horse competitions in Rainsville and it’s convenient.

Fond Memories

This was a quiet, peaceful getaway. The cabin was very clean, atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. The area had many things to see and do. We look forward to staying again. We had a couple of storms, rain (lots) and thunder, after there were quite a few mosquitos. We brought mosquito repellant so we were set.

Great getaway spot

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful spring break here. Near many different hiking trails, good food, nice small town atmosphere. The hosts were very helpful and easy to communicate with. Would love to book again.

Ultimate Privacy

Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property surrounded by trees is every direction giving us the feeling that we were in a much more remote location than we actually were. Check in and out were seemless and the house was as advertised. Loved walking a short distance into the woods to follow the beautiful mountain stream as it flowed just a few yards on the side of the house. Will differently consider staying at the property again if in the area!
