Incredible Lake Michigan Home with over 1/2 mile of public beach and amazing views of Little Sable Lighthouse. This gorgeous custom built home is built among the soft sand dunes of Mears Michigan and designed to take advantage of the beautiful views of Lake Michigan as well as the views of Little Sable Lighthouse across the street. Home is engineered to recreate the homes frequently built to house the light keepers for lighthouses built during the latter 1/2 of the 1800's along the shore of Michigan's Great Lakes. Enjoy over a 1/2 mile of soft, sandy Lake Michigan Beach that is literally directly across this quiet dead end street. Utilize the amazing powered beach wagon to effortlessly transport all your beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, food, ice cold drinks and even your kayaks and paddle boards from the home to the waters edge. Toes can be from the door to the water in 4 minutes and buried in the sand dunes right off the amazing wrap around deck. Whether you are relaxing on the deck, enjoying a gathering around the fire pit, entertaining in the living room, enjoying a movie and games in the walkout basement or hanging out in the 4th story crow's nest, you'll enjoy the most amazing views of one of Michigan's most iconic lighthouses from nearly every room in this quality home.
Little Sable Lighthouse was constructed in 1874 and is among the top 5 tallest lighthouses in Michigan at 107 feet. Visitors can stop by the small gift shop located in the public parking lot of the lighthouse to purchase a souvenir or pay a small fee to climb the internal staircase of Little Sable and get an amazing panoramic view of Lake Michigan and the surrounding dunes.
Enjoy a truly unique experience at Silver Lake Sand Dunes state park which is only a few miles north. This is one of the few locations in the united states which permits 4x4's to ride on the dunes and it has the added bonus permitting vacationers to pull their 4x4 up to an amazing Lake Michigan beach that is only accessible by 4x4 drivers and their companions.

Third Stay!

We never repeat VRBO homes. Except this one. This was our third stay; beginning to feel like a home away from home :) This house is SO great. Well stocked and beautiful location. We enjoy snuggling in and playing games, exploring the winter beach and sledding on the dunes. Owners are responsive and fabulous. Will be back :)

Family Long Weekend Getaway

Beautiful home, perfect location and outstanding amenities. We had a great time despite having to cut the trip short due to a family emergency. Plenty of space, beautiful views and fun daily walks on the beach with the dogs. Can’t wait to visit again.

Lovely Cottage but Disappointing View

2 cousins, age 66, stayed for 3 nights. Great cottage with everything you could need with an exception. If you have any issues with knees, hips, etc., keep in mind that the cottage is a full flight of stairs to the main level. Bring a suction cup grip for the shower/tub area for safe entering and exiting. It was so hard to get out that I skipped showering after the first day. The beach is NOT an easy walk and there is a VERY limited view of the water from the deck. I thought we had a full beach view. After our stay, I realized that the cottage is facing the backside of dunes and there is no clear walking path to the beach. Aerial photographs don’t make that info obvious. We did experience a little something regarding security…motion-sensor lights going off-and-on and in the morning we found a medical glove outside of my driver’s side door. There is no explanation for the glove, but I felt obligated to mention it. Sorry to the owners—no fault on your part. The cottage itself was very nice and the stay was relaxing.

70th Birthday Party

The property and location were both 10s. Communications with the owner was very easy and they were very responsive. All the furnishings were the best that I have had in a VRBO. We lacked for nothing during our stay. Everything we needed was furnished and of the best quality. The sunset views from the deck were outstanding and it was just a short walk to the beach. Our stay was one of the most enjoyable that we've had.

Most Relaxing Vacation

The property was just as advertised. The area was very quiet and the beach was beautiful. The hosts gave excellent recommendations and were very responsive. The sunsets were amazing and this was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had.

Your repeat lakefront family fun beachhouse

This property just might be your repeat vacation spot! Gorgeous property overlooking Lake Michigan with expansive private beach. Very well appointed home for families with young kids through teens. Electronic Games and big screen TV downstairs and crowsnest on 3rd floor. Lots of beach equipment including a motorized wagon for hauling kayaks, beach chairs and all your stuff. Walking distance to Little Sable Lighthouse for Climbing tour and recommend Mac Dunes Ride On Silver Lake Dunes-tons of fun! Relax at fire pit Or on the deck. Hosts are super cordial and gracious communicators. Highly recommended!

Great Home and Beautiful Location

Our group of eleven stayed very comfortable in this beautiful house. The beach was fantastic and the short drive to town was nice. Communication with the Owner was easy! Don’t hesitate to book this home!

Family trip

We had a wonderful time on Lake Michigan! The place was perfect. Very comfortable, loaded with toys and beach gear! The kids had a great time playing darts and hanging out around the fire. The view is amazing. Can’t think of one complaint. 😁 Coming from from someone who has been coming to this area for 50 years- this place was tops!

Just another day in paradise

OUTSTANDING! Immaculately clean, stocked with the highest end kitchen appliances, linens, bedding, loads of beach towels and toys. Breville espresso maker ! Wow! Steps to the beach, sunsets and campfires every night ( thanks for the wood). Lighthouse tour was fun. Rented pontoon on silver lake for day out and stopped at Tasty Creations - amazing local ice cream. Enjoyed local amenities, and a lot of doing absolutely nothing. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing. Definitely coming back next year!

Beautiful setting, well appointed villa, responsive host.

We enjoyed staying at this property. It is tucked away in a quiet corner next to the woods, just a short walk away from glorious Lake Michigan. The beach is good for long walks and Silver Lake State Park is just a short drive away with all the activities it has to offer. The house is well designed, impeccably clean, filled with light. Beautifully decorated with restraint. The bedrooms are spacious with soft carpeting and comfortable beds. Good, functional bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of seating for large families and all the gadgets they might need. Cell phone chargers thoughtfully placed all over the house. The family room has a large screen TV and is well stocked with games and cozy blankets. No cell phone reception but excellent WiFi connection. Large wraparound sundeck with chairs, table, umbrellas and large gas grill in the back. Everything was in perfect working order. The hosts were responsive and went out of their way to make our stay a good one. Well done, thank you!

Beautiful house on the water

This house is beautiful. We’ve stayed here multiple times and plan on coming back. Just walk across some sand and your at the water. You also can look out and watch the sunsets over the lighthouse. The house is so clean and well appointed. The owners are responsive and can tell they take great care of the house.

Pure Perfection

We use VRBO often. And this was the first time we ever returned to the same home. We loved it that much the first time around; and the second was no different! This house is one of the cleanest and most well stocked homes. The owners seem to have thought of all the details - everything labeled, phone chargers throughout, cooking supplies, you name it. My kiddos love the games in the basement! We played games, did puzzles, cooked many meals, and had some amazing family time. We all love the crows nest and the most amazing picturesque lake/lighthouse views throughout the house. We enjoyed so many beautiful sunsets, walks on the beach, hiking the dunes. We loved the new sleds at the home and sledding on the dunes! We just love exploring this part of Michigan through all seasons. We’ll be back :)

Beautiful Views of Lake Michigan

This is the third time we’ve stayed at one of their properties, our first at this house. As with their other property, they spare no expense in thinking of everything to make our stay perfect. Walks along the beach was close as was a number of nature preserves we explored. Another great stay for us with our GSD’s! Thanks for making our vacation perfect!

An amazing place to stay!

This was the cleanest VRBO we have ever used. The owners thought of everything . . . comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen (cooking) equipment, entertainment/ games for all ages, amazing views from the crows nest, quiet little reading nooks, a quick walk to the beach, along with a gated deck for our dogs that allows everyone to relax, sit back and enjoy the beautiful sunsets!

I spent my early childhood in St. Joseph Michigan, where my father and mother raised my siblings and I to appreciate the majesty of Lake Michigan in our 19’ Mercruiser tri hull boat. We moved to Brighton when I was 7 years old and when I grew to my adulthood, I was drawn back to Michigan’s west coast. I purchased a small 16’ Bayliner and took my wife and daughter to Lake Michigan several times a year.
I frequently dreamt of owning a little cottage on Lake Michigan some day. After we lost both my parents, both my in-laws and my brother within a few years span, I convinced my wonderful wife Sue to take the plunge with me. With our limited finances and the ever rising cost of properties near Lake Michigan, we decided to try our hand at renting our place out as a short term rental. We love sharing our home and providing the backdrop for so many great memories for our renters and their families. We have more than one amazing property now and we are still hoping to expand a bit more by finding incredibly unique and beautiful locations for our rental base.
